Not really. You're hearing things from redditors and YouTubers who think that because the movie isn't about them that it makes it antagonistic. The film comes from a woman's perspective of how some men treat them. Not all, but some. Unfortunately, women remember negative experiences more than positive ones, and that is reflected in the film. Again, it doesn't make sense why men believe that the Barbie movie should be focused on them when it's clearly written for women and their life experiences.

I like the foundation of this sub, but I'm not sure this is exclusively a men's issue. Women have their own challenges with beauty standards as do men. You could make an argument as to how that translates to dating and how that's detrimental, but women are most definitely held to body standards they cannot hope to obtain. That's a fault on marketing, mostly corporate, and a media establishment seeking to divide people and create insecurities for fun.
