2	How much money did you lose during the process of divorce? 4 years, 85k in attorney fees, child support, lifetime Alimony (CA being married 18 years) and 1/2 my pension. I have 50/50 custody. She works 16 hours a week. I work a full time job and another part time job. Her family gave her a 1.5 million dollar house to live in. 1	So, dating I got separated at 45 and divorced officially at 49. 4.5 years in the courts and $85k in divorce/attorney fees. I lost a lot of money/ 1/2 retirement, child support and indefinite alimony (CA of course) and life status I had built over a 18 year marriage. I have my kids 50/50. I lost so much but gained peace of mind and freedom. I could have spent my time focusing all the negatives that I lost.
