I'm Australian and I think having learnt a lot from this subreddit has really helped me be better in standing my ground. I'm not perfect and I still go quiet in fear of repercussions especially in my workplace but I definitely don't pander anymore when they're being very rude.

Just went over to the subreddit for the country this is happening in (not allowed to link to outside srubreddits sorry) about this topic. It's very clear to me the dudes over there have no idea what consent is to begin with that they're actually arguing that this law is ridiculous. Could you do what they do on some websites when you are talking in a chat for customer service. After the question is answered saying something like "Any other questions please ask in our group discord chat! Have a nice day!" And if they reply just spam that as a response like you're a robot Edit: just read further down the post and saw this was suggested. Haha sorry x

This really resonates with me because recently in therapy I told my psychologist I am pretty sure my older brother (a convicted pedophile who went to jail mind you) did something to me when I was young. He lived next door to us at the time and me and his daughter are in the same age bracket (the daughter who he molested). My psychologist literally told me that's not necessarily true because he has a client with those urges who would never touch his own children. Um....okay?…
