Sure but the correlation between IQ and attractiveness is very small; i.e., looks explains a very small percentage of variance in IQ. That is, there are tons of good looking people who aren’t particularly smart, and tons of smart people who aren’t good looking. I know it’s a digression from your original post, but I’m curious. The scientific community is where these studies are produced. It depends on the field and the specific subject matter within that field, but I wouldn’t say most studies are “crap”. It seems like there is valuable stuff here, a lot to absorb and learn. To me, it seems that some of the ideas here can lead someone into nihilism if people misinterpret.
