Well you'll get across the border yes, but expect a nice hefty prosecution waiting for you when you either A: Return, or B: Come to the attention of the authorities in any other country on the continent who will immediately extradite you back.

There is something afoot with the younger folk where it seems to be "cool" to publicly and proudly let everyone know you're kinda shitty. See also: The lyrics to the vast majority of female pop music. It's like they took a look at early 2000s shitty bling 'n' B**ches rap and said "yes, that's the aesthetic, just with boobs"

Whilst I disagree with your take further down that there is no crime here; there is by virtue of the abuse of position, I actually agree that the sentencing is a little insane in all of the context. I would say that regardless of the genders involved. This is not paedophilic, outside of the context of it being teacher-student this would have been entirely consentual and probably legal though I'd have to check on the AoC in that particular state. In the UK we have people recieving sentences of le…

If he has an issue and doesn't expect a BJ at the same time, then that's a facet of their relationship she needs to decide if she's fine with or move on. If he still expects her to perform but won't reciprocate, that's less fine.

The tone I took from your post was that she was in some way unreasonable by not committing to an abortion because pregnancy would impact on your life plans. If that wasn't the intention and you don't feel that way then by all means consider my "accusation" if it can be called that; retracted. The reality is - Sex leads to pregnancy. You can mitigate it and accept the reduced risk whilst being prepared to live with the consequences, or you can be abstinent. Those are really the options. Expecting…

You should break up because you frankly aren't ready for this sort of relationship. This may not be a popular take in this sub, but if this was an AITA post you would definitely be TA. It takes two to tango and she is being frank and honest with you about a theoretical discussion of a VERY difficult topic. If you lack compatibility then you should break up but this is about you, not her. She has done nothing wrong here.

You missed my point. I am discussing the ridiculous position of UK law. Not the practical reality.

Half of that statement is true in the UK too. Women can't be rapists. Men can be raped, but only by other men.

In fairness, the judge is only telling you the reality of the situation. Unless there's something else he said that's more objectionable; the fact is he's right. It's not acceptable that what he said is right, but we shouldn't go after people for telling the truth.

I agree, but you asked for evidence of feminist resistance and there it is. Some women are absolutely all for it, and I'm sure some feminists; but as is usually the case, the loudest shriekers will represent the group and the silent will consent by their inaction

I don't know what FDS is. Feminists, the last time this topic came up (as it does every 5 years or so, never ends up being a product though...) There were articles in places like the Guardian about how men couldn't be trusted with the pill. Noted feminist Jessica Valenti penned at least one article on the subject. On this sub, Im rarely here these days so I couldnt say.

Because it shifts control. As it stands they have the unilateral decision to come off BC with or without his knowledge when they want a child. Not if both of you are using it. It also cuts the odds on an "accident" or it "not working" from very very low to "bitch please" levels of low. Assuming a similar efficacy to the female options a double shot at two 0.01% chances on the roulette table both coming off? Nah. Not buying it.

This is why I actively deprogram my kids at least once a week. The youngest (male) is still too young to really take a based position; but the eldest (female) is mostly brimming with hot takes since she now actively recognises the lies she is taught every day. It can be done, but your kids must respect you, and they must be encouraged to actively reason their beliefs. That which can't be defended logically is summarily rejected. That which can be is discussed openly. It is the only way.

So much of my militancy around bed times being observed is that I actually think it's important to spend time with your partner, and bedtime is the only time you will get for that. All the other hours of the day are and should be about the family, that brief couple of hours between kids bedtime and getting to sleep so you can get up for work in the morning are what keeps your relationship going. Without it you're just on a countdown to failure. It's concerning how few parents realise this, parti…

A good progression to avoiding incarcerations where they can. Yes. That sounds eminently sensible and I actually agree with that. Where we differ is their decision to make that principle only apply to female offenders. The fact that you think its perfectly acceptable to operate what is effectively a two tier legal system by design is seriously disturbing to me. It already is a two tier legal system in practice, but enshrining that in public policy is frankly disgusting. Diversion and restorative…

So what you are saying is that your faith is better than my faith. Your faith that an outcome that would run counter to any position of common decency is correct, trumps my faith that it is incorrect. You are entitled to that view, im entitled to disregard it. Precedent works on like facts, you have decided that the facts were like because the court has ruled in a particular way. In other words their decision is right because it is their decision. A perverse abuse of the concept of precedent and damn near a tautology all rolled into one. Impressive. The defence in law has been around a long time. But that isn't what was being referred to, as you well know. HER defence, her use of this defence, came along at that point. After she had spent a significan…

Is that right? Present at the trial were you? Or are you spouting off appeals to authority bullshit, which is entirely what it sounds like. I'm very aware of the defence of diminished responsibility. Forgive me if I'm not convinced of it in light of the fact that the defence only seems to have come to light after a feminist group got involved. The statistics on bias in the criminal justice system are stark, and readily available. We know there is a dead person, we know that the accused travelled…

There is no amount of "emotional abuse" that justifies killing someone AFTER they have left you, and YOU have put yourself into their presence, and not only that gone equipped for the crime. Aside from the fact that there is absolutely no ethical justification for the very obvious murder charge being brought down to manslaughter, which would have been bad enough, to then award her his estate is an unbelievable insult. You can dress it up however you like, but if this had happened with the gender…

I'd go further than that. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I'm in a relationship now, and with a good woman (despite her peculiarities) but if this relationship were to end there is no way id seek another. Not in this climate. It's nothing personal to the few good ones out there, but why would I willingly submit to a contract where effectively the other party can literally murder me with impunity and then the state will hand her everything I owned, no strings attached. Thats akin to d…

How does the fact that women prefer gay clubs change whether they go clubbing more than men? You also seem to be asserting a cause and effect relationship when in fact it may be you have it reversed. If women prefer gay clubs and your experience is that clubs have more men; then perhaps there are more men in your particular clubs because they are straight clubs and all the women are in gay bars?
/r/MensRights30/10/19 02:39 PM

I don't know but if I could take a pill that would make me legitimately gay, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
/r/MensRights30/10/19 12:34 PM

I'm really not sure that's true any more. In my experience women are far more fixated on "going out" and clubbing than men are in the 21st century. Men these days often seek out alternative forms of social interaction, such as online gaming. Women on the other hand are near biologically incapable of forgoing the dopamine hit of in person social interaction. And by social interaction I mean creating dramas and sniping at other women.

1: How does any of that change what I said, you said it's "easier" for men. It patently isn't. 2: No birth control is 100% effective. FTFY. 3: Yes, men are sometimes trapped, and men who wish to use condoms should. And most should wish to. Doesn't really change who has a wider range of options, and which are easier. 4: Some female birth control causes side effects. Not all. And even those not for all women. 5: A vasectomy is a good choice for men who don't want kids. Very good observation. But w…

I think that's a very fair question and in all honesty I don't know which is harder out of those. I suppose we could frame that as being acute versus chronic difficulty. The woman has to take longitudinal action to manage her fertility, which is potentially significant. The man has to take very short term action but in a significantly more acutely difficult moment. If I had to pick a side as to who has it harder, in that circumstance I'd probably say marginally the woman. The only reason for thi…

You are right that there is only one technology, multiple products. So I suppose we are both right on the singular Vs plural point. Yes, there are sometimes complications but those are generally due to the fitting and a competent doctor should be able to do this without significant issue. Same with allergy testing. Your general opinion is exactly right, both parties ought to discuss the matter and decide on the right way forward. I don't disagree with that at all. But I know that if I had an opt…

Well it's worse for the quality of sex that much is true. But for those not in LTRs I'd agree, it's the better bet. Mainly for its dual purpose in reducing STI risk. HBC does have side effects for some women, never disputed that. My point was that it varies; but as I said there are non-hormonal variants that are effective for up to a decade. As for expense, not a relevant factor in my calculations as all are available on the NHS here. In fact condoms come out by FAR the most expensive here. Unle…

None of that is incorrect. But none of it actually supports your previous assertion that birth control is "Easier" for men. Not all female birth control is hormonal. For example the all copper coil is highly effective. Further not all women get side effects from hormonal BC. I do advocate condom usage for most people, but that doesn't mean that it's the easiest option, compared to the wealth of options that women have, each admittedly having a range of pros and cons making not every solution rig…

You're kidding right? Women have a huge range of options which don't affect their enjoyment of sex and in many cases are a "fire and forget" solution, some for upto 10 years. Men, well we have condoms, which reduce the enjoyment and have to be constantly replenished and carried, or vasectomies which remove our ability to reproduce permanently. Aside from the lack of options for men, your point really runs counter to common sense. If you want to survive a bullet storm, you don't try to dodge each…

People have the idea that PhD immediately conveys a higher level of intellect, it doesn't. It conveys a higher level of specificity. Being a PhD means being an absolute expert in "something". Whether that "something" is useful or valuable is entirely secondary. Especially if it's progressive. Not only does it not need to be value, but the specificity of it means that it's inherently going to lead to more echo chamber thinking as you are consulting a narrower and narrower band of views as you dri…

It's gaslighting on a societal scale. And I do agree, young people have a rebellious streak, and your generation may not have been as deep in as some others, but even rebellion can only occur within the confines of what is considered reality. You're kidding right? They already do! What you are describing doesn't happen for a number of reasons: 1: It starts more subtle than that, they don't go straight for that stuff till the latter years by which point the kids are softened up to it and they communicate less with the parents. They aren't telling 7 year old boys they are responsible for rape. 7 year olds don't understand the concept. At young ages it's more about medicating them and laying the groundwork from which the later indoctrin…

I think perhaps his reasoning is that the law holds two contradictory positions on the status of a fetus. If the woman wants to kill it, it's not a person, and killing it is legal. If the man wants to kill it, it is a person, which is a fundamental requirement for the offense of murder. And killing it is therefore illegal. I don't think anyone is advocating whether either is an ethical thing to do, but his reasoning (as I interpreted it anyway) is logical.

I've heard this line of defence before. And at first glance it sounds reasonable. Until you realise our statute for rape is S1 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003. Two thousand and fucking three. Let that sink in for a moment.

No problem :) it's an easy oversight to make, particularly since it is so egregious that she was acquitted that it actually beggars belief. I don't know what the specifics of the offense are in Australia, but if this occured under UK law it would be a very clear example of jury nullification and raises some serious questions about our culture. Questions that aren't new to us of course, but this would be a whole new level

There were studies that did show Gen Z to be more conservative but more recent studies have shown the reverse. This would suggest that something has happened between them. That's a distinction between in-world and out-world relevance. It may be relevant (and may always be) to the out-world (the audience) but that is the point, to show and lead towards a world where it isn't relevant. In an in-world sense of course it can be irrelevant, it's also not possible to fly a starship 60,000 light years but it can happen in a narrative. These are the same demographic that believe in reasonable numbers that male access to non-barrier contraception would represent a threat to women's right to have children and that it's perfect acceptable to baby trap their partner or cuck their partner is he refuses them one. This would be small fry in the moral stakes for these people

The last paragraph is the most resonating part for me. I had this misapprehension that when I started working at an organisation that is around 90% women that there would be a degree of understanding around childcare as I'm the primary care giver in our household (though we both work full time). And don't get me wrong, the nature of the role makes it inherently more flexible than most which is how they manage to get someone with our level of skills for the wages they pay. In my line of work I deal with a lot of pharma reps and I know a few personally as well. Their earnings:value ratio is very skewed. Pretty sure they are synonymous, though cultivated appears to have an inference in the difference of agency in the process. Cultured appears largely neutral in that it could be an intrinsic process initiated and continued by the individual or extrinsic process initiated and continued by others upon the subject whereas cultivated suggests the latter. To understand that you have to understand the feminist "lens". While you, me, and rational people might see a club where men have a beer and chat about their lives, a feminist sees a oak panelled cigar smoke filled inner politburo with extremely fat cats plotting to take away 22c from every dollar etc

Their arguments were sound and their advice effective. I went from 18 month long dry spells to being able to spin an average of 5-6 casual partners at a time. This rather implies that therapists don't have an agenda. They can be (usually in fact) extremely ideological. If I had an issue in my relationship you can be sure as shit the last place I'd be going is to a therapist. You wonder it because it's true. A large body of women see their kids entirely like this. A piece of property, and when in a divorce situation, a weapon and tool. A child, to a woman, is the ultimate virtue jewellery. Its a little accessory that proves her fertility for future men, her virtue as a caregiver and nurturer. It's not much different to a puppy. You don't prove a negative genius. You prove a hypothesis, and provide a null hypothesis, and the onus is to prove the positive. Like I say it depends on the wording used. They can interpret but it is limited, even if they draft a statute which is severely hampered by the wording it has used they can't rephrase it. Their interpretation has to follow the actual words used. If the statute relates specifically to a male, then that's jenga, not a damn thing a court can do about it. If it's non-specific or ambiguous, then yes, they can interpret it to include women if they chose. And there's every chance it is specific on the …
/r/MensRights07/09/16 07:26 PM

I agree with everything you said except one thing: A court has no remit to rewrite a law. That falls to the executive to draft and the legislature to ratify. Probably, and I'm only supposing here, because in a legal sense a test isn't ENTIRELY necessary. In UK law, as may be the case here, the purported father can indeed refuse a test. But if he does the court will infer that he has something to hide and find him the be the father unless there is other evidence to the contrary. Ultimately, forcing men to submit to a test as an absolute COULD be construed as a violation of their human rights. So, in some ways it makes perfect sense to offer the nomina…

If that's the law where you live, then you are within your rights to apply it. /r/MensRights15/08/16 05:11 PM
2

Absolutely, I don't disagree with you there, and nor (at least in British case law) do the courts. It's about what is reasonable and proportionate in ALL of the circumstances. It is REASONABLE to be scared, and reasonable for a jury to find that you genuinely feared even if the actual threat turns out to be false (say a replica firearm, as the classic example). Of course that leeway only goes so far, but it does exist.

It's really a matter of how real the threat is. There is a difference between brandishing a weapon and acting in the use of that weapon, you appeared to be suggesting that there ought to be no degree of reasonableness requires to justify self defense. /r/MensRights15/08/16 04:58 PM

Pretty much every piece of case law where a defendant has attempted a self defense plea and failed has done so because they are deemed to have escalated the situation beyond what was reasonable and proportionate. Frankly I haven't the time to pull you out a thousand cases so the case of Tony Martin should suffice. You won't need a full citation it made front page news in the United Kingdom over the course of a number of years. There were threats to him and his family made by a group of youths wh…
/r/MensRights15/08/16 01:59 PM

In what way? If the response isn't required to be reasonable or proportionate I could shoot you dead for disagreeing with my opinion in an overly vociferous way. Laws are built upon principles of justice. And justice is served in self defense by the actions of the righteous being reasonable and proportionate to the situation. Which is exactly what the law requires here.
/r/MensRights15/08/16 01:52 PM

Because a threat is not the same as an action. The aim of law should be to reduce harm and increase public safety. It does not achieve this by allowing members of the public to escalate situations to suit their own ego or John Wayne ambitions. We have ALL made silly threats. Done silly things, and justice is not served by allowing straight up murder in response to a threat. You seem to miss the point. You defend yourself by the act of drawing. By returning his threat and indicating you mean to u…
/r/MensRights15/08/16 01:49 PM

Because you haven't given him a chance to retreat and you have escalated the situation. Making you effectively the aggressor. If you live in a jurisdiction where handguns are legal, and you were faced with this, yes, you could draw on him. But to draw and fire when the assailant is static is just straight up murder because you effectively leapfrogged his level of threat with your own. If you drew and he came at you. Fire away, his threat is lethal making your equally lethal threat proportionate.…
/r/MensRights15/08/16 11:05 AM

Hmm... That's not entirely true. Reasonable isn't as vague as it appears once you actually look at the case law, and it's followed by the word "proportionate" So, someone comes at you with a knife. You fear you may suffer an assault, this makes self defensive action, even pre-emptive action in some cases a reasonable response so long as the belief is itself reasonable as defined by the standard clapham omnibus test. They occupy a tricky legal position. Technically speaking no, they are illegal if more than one girl is working on the premises. But depending on the police force involved it's often never enforced. So long as the people involved follow certain rules. GMP for example have an unofficial zone in Bury where it's agreed they will turn a blind eye to brothels inside. But will nail any outside. Her friends seemed to hold the same view. Of course those same friends all knew about this it seems. Most of them were in the game themselves or formerly. But, right now its hard to feel in the least bit masculine. I was cucked a thousand times. That tattoo of my initial on her inner thigh, men have been dropping loads on that in their h…

Thats the hilarious part. Most of our fighting has been over the fact that she fucked up (in other ways) and I plated her. She will only stand that for a few weeks, then she comes back for more with ultimatums. Usually she will lose the ultimatum, go away for a while and then come back again. Now I see what she was doing in those times. And I'm starting to see why she engineered so many fights. She couldn't work with me around all the time. Especially since ive just found out quite a bit of it w…

Exactly. That's the part that sickens. I have no moral issue with what she is. I have moral issue with how shes handled it regarding me. I am one of the few guys she will ever meet who probably could have handled this under a fair deal. But then she never wanted a fair deal. She wanted the benefits of being "the good wife", with the benefits of being a whore with none of the downsides. And was quite happy to ruin me to get it.

If it was purely casual, maybe I'd be fine with that. But it never could be. Once you love someone you can't just switch them off. If I'd known this at the start I could have kept them in check better. And kept it casual, but it still wouldn't have worked. Reason being - She demands a serious relationship. Monogamy (other than occasional swinging which she offered plenty of in the beginning but then engineered out of the later stages) and full commitment. Yes, you heard that right, the girl gett…

Grandiosity is a massive trend for her. I seem to recall once expressing interest in an Alfa Spider, but said it would have to wait till after Law school finished. She offered to buy me one. That's her level. Its insane. Massive grand gestures to make herself look good. In reality I can't initiate contact, she has blocked me on all channels. Short of showing up at her house I can't even if I wanted to. And as much as its going against a thousand examples where she has, she won't be back this tim…

I think on balance its unlikely that she actually wanted me to find out. For a number of reasons: 1: Even when faced with very very strong evidence, she clung to her denials. If she wanted me to find out she would have just come out with it when I found her profile and pictures. She actually claimed it was an impersonator using her old pics. It was only when I found her forum entries corresponding with recent life events and hilariously, our arguments, that she finally capitulated in a grandiose…

Sad part is, if she played this right at the start, and modified her expectations of me and what this "relationship" would be, she probably would have been able to make that fly. If I knew this from the start, I could have regulated my level of investment, wouldn't have caught feelings, and we actually could have made something work. If she wanted me around that badly. She certainly has the charm to persuade a guy into something like that. But that wouldn't have worked for her, she wanted a husb…

I actually get that. But a help desk guy doesn't tell you you can only use his help desk. And noone else's. And tell you that you are the only person he's helping. I have no issue with the sex trade, I have issue with the fact that she deliberately ensnared me alongside. Granted as said repeatedly, I'm still the moron who went blue and fell for it. No, it remains as per R v Bree for the court to determine on the facts whether or not her intoxication was sufficient to vitiate any consent given. This. Trust me, if you want to see this in action, attend a swingers club. Occasionally you will see an overweight guy with a slim girl. And you can tell in 99% of situations whether she's an escort or he's a sugar daddy. And its rarely any other. But well over half the couples have a weight disparity in favour of the female. Slim guy, fat girl. Men are sexual pragmatists. We adjust our expectations based on our options. Women, by and large, don't. Not until they get absolutely desperate.

Nicotine is a hell of an appetite suppressant. Its as much causation as correlation, if you smoke you simply dont want to eat as much. And you dont enjoy your food so much when you do. Smoking will generally make you skinnier. I know myself when im heavy on the nicotine i just dont feel the need to eat, i have to choose to eat. Its pretty easy to end up skinny this way. Nicotine has had more effect on my ability to shed weight than steroids, peptides and T3 combined
/r/TheRedPill14/11/15 08:34 PM

I disagree entirely, skinny is actually the optimum look for some target demographics. If you want to fuck teenagers, 17-21, the most successful build to do it is around 5'9, 130lbs, fashionable haircut and the right clothes. Being 6'3 and stacked will get you plenty of tail, but it wont be the teenage 10s, it will be the older demographics, 25+. The hottest, youngest women are after a One Direction lookalike, and muscle aint gonna cut it.

Vulnerability is natural, unavoidable, and in many ways can be leveraged in a Machiavellian sense also, women are the masters of this but it can be done by men, if properly applied. But it needs to be controlled. You can let them see you fight your demons, but you can't ever let them see your demons break you.

This is the correct answer. The amount of times I've had tinder/POF based hookups or near hookups where she knows everything there is to know about me before I've even given her a second name is insane. Agreed, the first 50lbs came off very easily. The rest much slower. Ideally I'd like another 25lbs or so off, which would take me to 190 @ 6'2. Currently 32" waist (from 44") 46" chest. Sadly I won't get into any smaller trousers, I'll be stuck at 32" because of my women's hips. In the last year my training has slipped badly, from 5-6 days a week to 1-2. Haven't really done too badly, managed to maintain most of my mass and even got a bit more fat off by eating a lot cleaner, but its time for a …

Well his defence directly would never be defamatory, his defence fundamentally is just "She consented" What could be actionable however are allegations presented to support that argument or to merely outline the details of the alleged incident if they are in dispute. The nature of her alleged conduct. As for demonstrating damages it seems there has been a moderately recent change in the law since I covered defamation, so I will concede the point that yes she absolutely will have to demonstrate t…

Wow, as a resident I had no idea this was going on in the area. Frankly Durham is so small I tend to forget anyone on the Internet even knows it exists. Good work brother, look forward to hearing more about this. Would be interested in getting involved potentially in the future once my... "Public involvement"... with the Durham University student body is less prominent

Depends really doesn't it If the defence is that she consented to straight up one-on-one intercourse, yeah she will struggle to demonstrate damages. If the defence is that she willingly participated in a 5 man gangbang with a passing rugby team while her boyfriend was blissfully unaware and her reputation is in tatters, it won't be that hard.

Cant say im surprised, the theoretical possibility occurred to me when we covered defamation at law school, that given the reversed burdens of proof a valid defense of a rape allegation could easily be spun as a valid defamation case under the current law, and while its very easy (in theory) to introduce reasonable doubt to a criminal allegation, it is far harder to prove innocence to the extent that will be required to establish a truth defense to defamation. Particularly in an allegation where…

I don't make decisions when I'm mad. That's a rule I learned a long time ago. That's not a good thing! Beta level over 9000, there's beta and then there's omega... off the scale. The only part i disagree with in this post. You should never make a decision angry if you can avoid it. Of course the decision should in this case still be to leave, you should always get past the anger first.

Not from what I'm reading they aren't. It seems to be about 5-1 in favour of releasing her and giving her a knighthood at the moment. The comments truly are a representation of just how vile society and a large majority of women have become these days. My personal favourite being the one who basically said that no matter what the problems a mother has, drug user, murderer, whatever, they should have custody of their kids, not a father, because muh umbilical cord. Seriously.

Ever tried saying no to a girl who has put the required amount of pressure on herself to make the first move? Run Forest, run! Nah, as much as I do like the idea when it's someone I would have consented to anyway, women are far too often violent and abusive when refused for me to encourage their proactivity in this area. The fact that women are passive in this area saves me from a lot of undeserved slaps

Now, you say "But some women really do make every man wait because those women are looking only for serious relationships". And I say "What do those women look like?" I genuinely believe they don't exist. There are dates you will get an immediate fuck from, and dates you won't, but the determining factor isn't her chastity, its your SMV. If your SMV is high enough, she won't make you wait. It's just a matter of HOW high it needs to be to pass that threshold for her. It's a matter of degree, not …

Fatalist id agree entirely. Poor frame... I don't know about that, I think part of maturing is accepting to live with being imperfect and with the fact that life isn't always fair. And hook up culture isn't. It's lopsided and it always will be. And ultimately as you allude to, fatalism suggests that we cannot control any actions but our own. For as long as men are prepared to "date down" in hook ups, women will always have the capacity to date up. And since I cant stop other men doing that, all …

Who wouldn't date a 7? Any woman above a 6.5. But really Tinder isn't for dating is it, its for hook ups and female validation. If you want to date you go to POF. Realistically on Tinder a man has to bat generally about 3 points downwards. Naturally that becomes less so as he approaches 10. But a 7 guy isn't gonna do better than a 5 on Tinder.

Having low SMV is only marginally changeable, and Tinder is for 9s and 10s. Genetic factors don't change just because you drop a few weights sessions into your routine and change your hair, in terms of SMV I've had one of the biggest self improvement spells of anyone I've known. From a 2 to a solid 7.5-8. But beyond this I can't go any further. In my experience being around a drunk girl who wants to fuck you, whether you are sober or not, is a universally bad idea. Because if she initiates you either get to be considered a rapist for letting her, or get assaulted for stopping her.
/r/MensRights22/10/15 02:22 PM

Not taking away the seriousness of rape, or its abhorrence as an offense, but this really isn't that surprising. Let's call a it like it is, horrific offense yes, but it also frankly ties in with the majority of female sexual fantasy. The domination, loss of control, having power exerted over them. It's the same tired trope over and over again because frankly it's damn near hard wired. Throw a shoe in any crowded area and you've got a good chance of hitting a woman with these exact sexual fantas…

From my research for a paper on this subject for the 2nd year of my law degree, as a student going in with an accepted pro-capital punishment bias - No, sadly the figures don't bear that out. Not unless you drastically reduce the safeguards in place. And I don't think anyone sane really wants that

The fact is the loss of control defence doesn't make allowances for the special characteristics of the victim. Adultery for example is not valid grounds. It has to be a legitimate loss of control caused by the victims immediate actions. This woman sought a weapon, travelled to the victims home, and then killed him, based upon even in her own words, his smirk and refusal to admit his crimes. That is not a valid LoC defense. This is a pussypass, plain and simple. Now, in this case do I actually th…

I don't know about that, her explanation is plausible. I've had a girl behave exactly the same way and get pregnant accidentally who then terminated without informing me until after the event. /r/MensRights24/09/15 05:23 PM

Well I'm not sure it is. The question of "Would he/she have consented sober" is kind of the crux of this. Of course the attractiveness of the person is a factor, if they are reasonably attractive then the person MAY be genuinely consenting and would have done sober, so the friends will be less inclined to intervene, but if they are a 50 year old swamp monster they almost certainly wouldn't. Women practice this as much as men. Not just for attractiveness of course. The amount of marriages tempora…

Assuming Australia has similar positions on this matter to the UK (Which is likely since they derive their common law from ours) there are limits to what degree of harm a person can consent to upon themselves before that consent is negated. Its more complex than this, but in laymans terms you can consent to a simple battery, but you cant consent to actual bodily harm or above. This mans injuries would certainly seem to be "calculated to interfere with the health or comfort of the victim" and "mo…

Why the fuck is this legal? None of this is to say that it isnt a good idea to cooperate with an investigation of a serious crime, of course it is, and were i one of the men at that school/in that area, yes, i would volunteer my sample since its easier than proving an alibi. But the idea that the state should be able to demand this from an entire demographic on the basis of investigating a crime that as yet has no suspect, no. Just fucking no.
/r/MensRights10/09/15 03:25 PM

Seems to vary by social demographic however. At least here. Middle class people are definitely putting off having kids till later, professionals in my experience rarely have them before their very late 20s/early 30s. Working/under class people, usually having them the minute they can attract the local "bad boy" to knock them up because its a ticket to a better class of benefits dependency
