I think they are whinging because it was implied being respectful to women was a positive male attribute.

What the fuck are you even talking about. Are you saying you want women to be harmed in a punitive way?

I wouldn't give my seat up to a able bodied woman but there are still men who think its chivalrous to do so. That doesn't make him some kind of loser who needs a red pill.

Yes we are. An influx of incels means women hate now gets upvoted here. I love women, I have a wonderful wife. I also have two sons and hope they are given a fair go in life.

Mensrights is now all about them vs us because the new recruits actually hate women. Mensrights is not meant to be at women's expense.

Welcome to the new mensrights with extra incel. Where being nice to a woman for any reason is evil because women are evil.

You could force girl scouts to admit boys, but nobody wants to join something so lame.
/r/MensRights11/10/18 07:18 PM

What men’s rights is being taken away here? Some people believe that fundamentally there should be a clubs and organisation devoted to boys and men that completely excludes membership for girls. Which is what scouts once was. That is the right that has been taken. With the way male mental health and schooling is going you could argue that these male bonding spaces are vitally important, and admitting girls sends a political message that men's groups dont matter unless they are forced to serve wo…

We'd be better off merging the saner parts of the MRM and feminism Of course it is obvious to any non-misogynist that mrm needs to attract and convert women to the cause. And there are plenty of women who want the best for their sons and husbands. But come here now and its just anti woman, and anti feminist. Beieve it or not feminism still has some valid battles to fight, women have problems too. Even a sub. Like tumblr in action that mocks extremely feminists is has a vastly more decent tone.

There's been an influx of woman hate in this sub since some of the other subs got banned. Browsing the top posts in this thread its all hate. Without some decent moderation this sub will go the same way as the others if some of the spite I've seen lately continues.

I'm sorry you had a bad time but I trust the women I work with and in my experience the vast majority of sexual harassment complaints in the workplace are justified by a long pattern of bad behaviour. Women are far more reluctant to make a complaint than everyone here is suggesting as it can have consequences for them too.
/r/MensRights01/10/18 04:22 AM

Apparently the only rebuttal to your point is that women can be evil so any one of them will turn on you at any time so lets hate good capable women too. This sub has been in the toilet lately.

In private industry there is pretty strong resistance to hiring unqualified candidates so OPs experience is the same as mine in an industrial/engineering field. Its still very male dominated but the women who work there are given a lot of respect if they work hard and know their jobs. Just like men.

Yes, when a crime happens, you bloody report it if you want it solving, you don't sit on it for decades and then bringing up at a time that is convenient for you. Yes this is exactly the reason for a statute of limitations which metoo sjwism has also been doing a good job of tearing down. Waiting 20 years to accuse someone materially harms someone's ability to defend themselves in a fair trial. Hazy recollections of the crime or alibis, or even defence witneses who have died, make it harder and …

I can barely understand your comment but suffice to say outside of twitter and Reddit there are plenty of western women who take traditional roles, except they can have lives and careers outside the home if they choose and won't get kidnapped gang-raped or honour-killed. Sounds like a good deal to me. Most women aren't hateful sjws.

Im sorry you got downvoted for discussing the article. Apparently this sub is now a safe space for woman hating. In this case if you think about it the argument is that you are better off dead, and its unfair that men get to suddenly die a bit healthier. There is an easy solution to that problem.

Welcome to r/mensrights. This sub has really taken a spiteful woman-hating turn in the last year or so as it seems to have filled up with incels or something.

How about you provide a single book calling for "male genocide" which is the extermination of every male. Seriously this sub is looking more and more like incels every day and it will be the undoing of the place.

I'd argue that women in the 50s didn't resonate with that at all. It was the late 70s and 80s when baby boomer women became bored housewives that this shit really took off. Ironically a lot of that was due to the rise of mass media which grew up with the generation of conscription during Vietnam.

It is interesting and telling in an evolutionary way, that men still remain very willing to support their women and children. For parts of the world that have good maternity leave (everywhere except USA) there are many men who understand that supporting their wife and infant child at home for a year or two is just what you do.
/r/MensRights01/07/18 01:47 PM

Many men think its not a problem or are neutral on the issue too. So don't mistake a vocal minority having feelings as being the last word either.

/r/MensRights30/05/18 12:42 AM

rape is treated as if it should have a lower burden of proof because of how heinous a crime it is. It isn't though. We aren't talking about US college campus justice here.
/r/MensRights30/05/18 12:41 AM
3

There is a high burden of proof to secure a conviction for a reason. Out of all hypothetical "true" rape accusations there will be some that aren't ever brought to trial, some that are brought to trial and there is no conviction, and the clearest will be convicted. That doesn't mean 75% of these real rapes didn't happen. Equally only someone who can be proven to have made a malicious false report should be punished for it.

The vast majority of these amber alert abductions are when a child is taken by someone known to them in a custody dispute type situation. They usually end peacefully as the parent isn't intending to harm the child. Given that the majority of custodial parents are mothers, it stands to reason, but I don't know of any stats.

Yet, whats worse is how so many people go through much worse than I could ever imagine... its so incredibly selfish for me to complain while others truly suffer... I just don't know how to think/feel/react. Don't feel like you need to play the "what about" game. Just because people are getting bombed in Syria doesn't mean your problems are not problems. There are good trustworthy women out there, as it happens they are probably raised by good fathers. Just don't expect too much from them.

Yes I read the article. So what? Men get paid more because they work in harder, longer, more senior and more dangerous jobs. Is this unfair in some way? Women do more child-rearing. Someone's got to do it, or not if you don't have kids. You will never legislate to prevent the existence of jobs that aren't compatible with taking the kids to soccer practice. Sorry.
/r/MensRights09/05/18 04:03 AM

Your link once again says little about comparing like for like jobs at like for like levels of seniority and like for like hours of work. It nearly gets there with the pharmacist thing, where the real wage gap becomes appararent, and is usually no more than a few percent. But then it fails to draw that conclusion to the rest of the data. Because its inconvenient to do that and find out that the men who get paid more have more experience, work longer hours and more unsociable hours and have more …

Too bad feminism in the UN is only focused on The UN does do development work for women in developing countries that are pretty bad for women. That's feminism, the good old fashioned kind. I'm not sure what arm of the UN deals with censorship and supression of men. Seriously this sub is on another planet sometimes.

Yeah exactly the same as ABC Australia. I think it is mostly the type of people drawn to that kind of work at a public broadcaster. But there is also stuff in their charter about social cohesion and multiculturalism so its baked in to some extent. Still their pure news coverage is some of the best so you take the good with the bad.

Its just yet another example of anti-feminism treating grown women like infants. They can do this if they so choose. They are getting paid. If they are abused or mistreated it is unacceptable. If they are not abused or mistreated they are making cash to look sexy while some of us dumb blokes get to see some pretty girls.

I had to hand over a technical research related task to a female colleague, and began explaining all the basic things I had already tried to save her the time doing it all again. She started getting impatient at me like I was talking down to her, I told her I was just trying to save her time, but only later realised she was pissed of at me "mansplaining" to her. Hold on, what are we complaining about again? These women are convinced the man is innocent, and that the other woman is making shit up. Shouldn't we want to support the man's character witnesses regardless of hypocrisy. People change, and when they get better, we shouldn't complain about it.

That just isn't true. Australia has been collecting really good data about this and the results are not based on arrests or police reports. Link Women were nearly three times more likely to have experienced partner violence than men, with approximately one in six women (17% or 1.6 million) and one in sixteen men (6.1% or 547,600) having experienced partner violence since the age of 15. One in six women (16% or 1.5 million) and one in seventeen men (5.9% or 528,800) experienced physical violence …

If you only read the stories that get to the front page it isn't so bad but there is plenty of nastiness around. Headline issues that are ok imo: False rape accusations. Disparity in sentencing for the same crime. Crazy anti-men feminism. Family custody and divorce injustices. The stuff that really stinks here imo is the whataboutism. ie women sometimes commit acts of violence or sexual assault, they are just as bad as men. In reality men commit vastly more domestic violence and sexual violence …

She was a juvenile offender, which would by far be the influencing factor in her sentencing. Adult women have been sentenced very harshly for similar offenses too in the past. It is not really justifiable to say that she is getting better treatment than a man because there are other factors at play.
/r/MensRights09/11/17 10:12 PM

Yeah she was fifteen at the time the way I read it. A lot of places in the world don't have a hard-on for locking up children or people who commit minor offenses like the US does.

That's bollocks. I'm sure it was her baby. The press can't identify the baby as hers because they can't legally identify the victim. She was in a "support unit" which I think is a teen mother's education and support health clinic type situation. She shook her child after it screamed for hours and hours. Google "shaken baby syndrome". Better people than her are tempted to do the same thing. It is a tragic and sad situation where a teen mother with no coping skills hurt her own child in frustratio…

Men can take long "maternity" leave in Australia as I bet they can in Ireland. Both parents can't take it though.
/r/MensRights28/09/17 03:59 AM

Yes, this sub is used to talking about incidents where the man is not even charged with a crime but that is not the case here. The police obviously thought there was enough evidence to secure a conviction, and in many similar circumstances, the accused remains in custody until trial. Keeping the guy away from witnesses and the victim of an alleged crime is good judicial practice.

Male or female we all do things to please our family, parents, friends that we might not otherwise do because of societal pressure. From the mundane to the really important like getting married or moving cities. Each and every time we have agency in choosing whether we do it or not and whatever we do the ultimate responsibility rests with us alone.

Yeah the jails are full of people with mental health issues. There is nothing here which diminishes her responsibility for such a serious crime. Only if you start with the assumption that what she did was "not that bad" would so something so pathetic mitigate against it.

Aside from being a historically accurate depiction of the events, if the movie is about men and for men, so what? Probably a girl won't like it too much. Almost every movie is made to appeal to a wide audience including women, and plenty of films are "chick-flicks", so where are they missing out?

Although it can be infuriating to get that response when you are talking about an issue you care about, it's probably a fair point. A woman who suicides is no less a tragedy, and although there are some different dynamics at play, I don't feel like a woman in a bad enough way to end it needs vastly different care to a man.

Stay at home parent is not a hard job, lets be fair. And its ridiculously easy when you only have one child. There is a bit of a trend for US style plea bargains creeping into the Australian justice system. That is the very essence of being denied a fair trial. "Showing no remorse" can equal "not copping a guilty plea to a lesser charge". It stinks in the US and we don't need it here.

To be fair it was a real issue... in 1983. Chemical plants that employ engineers are still very male dominated cultures, and there did need to be a bit of pressure to get the girls in there. Like most of feminism though, the battle has been won in 99% of places. Bland rhetoric is no help, they need to be shaming businesses who refuse to employ them because they are female, assuming such a place exists.
