I need to dig it up, but I once saw a really good criticism of that experiment, saying that the teacher had either intentionally or inadvertently incentivized or instructed the kids to be mean to one another. Take what I say with a grain of salt but I've definitely seen that experiment refuted

I don't think your first point is true. I think there's a lot of really good work done by former convicts who can donate their time volunteering, create art, or as important sources of support in people's lives And there are definitely cases where your second point is right. I would imagine one could make an argument that time should be afforded to these people in hopes that they can be properly medicated or given therapy rather than killed. There's not a single person in this thread that will justify those laws (with exception to 'naked mile runs'. They may just be drunk shenanigans, but that's still public exposure) . The solution is not to be lenient to all sexual assaulters because some are wrongly on the list. The solution would instead be to stop putting people on those lists for public urination.

Can we be realistic though in that this kid's sexual life might be fucked up? this teacher has taught him that adults are very forward in their sexual advances. This might fuck up his future relationships as he thinks he needs to be more forward than most people would be.
