I read the Wiki article, and it seems he puts a lot of emphasis overprotective parenting. I don't quite believe that. I think it's the opposite. My mom was ill, so we were raised in a neglected household. Many people are raised in a single mother household where the mother doesn't have the resources to spend time with her children. I feel a problem of newer generations is that it's much easier for children to grow up without guidance, and being a latchkey kid with no guidance and digital technol…

I feel like you impose unnecessarily high standards on this sub compared to the typical subreddit. It's like you're just waiting for a reason to disavow this sub.

People ignore Russian conscription because the entire West already dislikes Russia. It's just beating a dead horse and kind of pointless since it's already obvious to all Westerners. However, many Westerners love to romanticize the Ukrainian government even though that government is engaging in enslavement into death. That makes criticism of the Ukrainian government actually meaningful.

I have health problems that I won't go to the doctor for, primarily because of awful mental health. Gender roles is certainly a contributing aspect of this, which is why I sometimes have a visceral reaction to people assuming things about me based on my sex. I'm thankful a nuanced sub like this exists or else I would probably completely devolve into misogyny.

The problem with discussing that is that it will attract the wrong crowd (uppercase-I Incels) and then this subreddit would degrade. I completely agree, though.

Okay, then since "feminism" is completely malleable, then I'd rather not call myself a term that inherently favors the female sex but rather call myself a gender egalitarian or something like that.

This subreddit seems as careful as possible not to be misogynistic. There's no way to prevent this entirely. Most people here are affected by the "women-are-wonderful effect," so we are inherently in favor of women. You'll see a recent post on this sub from a woman that was flooded by upvotes. This sub generally recognizes the problems experienced by women. Again, it's impossible to be perfect in this regard because there are going to be bitter people that post on subs like this. What do you wan…

From my understanding, feminism is supposed to be all-encompassing social movement centered around total gender equality. I've been told that feminism doesn't focus on female issues but all issues. Is this true? If not, then feminists should stop pretending to being a movement centered around gender equality when it is really a movement centered around female empowerment. Calling it a movement with a priority for gender equality would be gaslighting. This subreddit clearly focuses on male issues…

I completely support women being in this community as well. We just have to stay cognizant of the "women-are-wonderful effect," which I'm sure most, if not all, men on this subreddit are still affected by. Men are inclined to overvalue the words of women compared to men, and we should always be conscious of this bias. The thoughts of men are just as valuable as the thoughts of women.

It's individualism whenever it's convenient and collectivism whenever it's convenient. A problem with misandrists (and misogynists) is that they aren't consistent; they don't see us as individuals when it comes to "us" being the aggressor, only when we are the victim. I would say that many problems stem from people forgetting individuality.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
