I think people nowadays throw around the word racism, islamophonia, homophobia, and harrassment so lightly mainly because of salience bias (i.e. The human tendency to focus on the most easily recognizable features of something, someone, or an event). In school, I learned that the human brain is a lump inside our head that is always looking to conserve energy—protein. While I agree with all of the points, I personally feel like the photoshopped creepy girl on the page doesn’t help at all. This is a serious issue, and a picture of some The Grudge girl isn’t a part of it.
