That's all fine and good but a lot of people in this subreddit, including myself, have some degree of nice guy syndrome. I'm out of the business of fixing broken barbie dolls. If they're broken, i leave them as I found them now.

I'd add one thing as well. If you approach strangers to chat in a social situation and you receive a bad reaction, that says more about them than it does about you.

I don't think generally you're going to be interested in a guy that doesn't take the lead and initiate a conversation with you. The advice I've seen for women is to "have tits" and let it happen. It generally will. There's single men everywhere. You have to go to places where you can be approachable. Coffee shops, bars, social clubs or volunteer groups. Basically anywhere that it's socially acceptable to flirt. Don't wear headphones, stay off your phone and be present in the situation you're in.
