One of the best posts I’ve seen on this subreddit. Well said.

The example that comes to mind is Severide from the show Chicago Fire. My girlfriend has a huge crush on him, because he is physically attractive and has “masculine energy”

The harder you try to flirt, the less attractive it is. Be flirty in an effortless “not really trying” way

It literally is that simple though. Once you do those things, your personality should take care of the rest.

Just show that you’re interested in them. Ask questions, listen to what they have to say, make eye contact. And of course make sure to read the room.

Keep being friends with her, but keep your options open in terms of sexual partners. Being friends with a girl will always help you get better at talking to girls and dating. The whole idea that you should either date a girl or stop talking to her is bullshit. Just be friends with as many girls as you can and sooner or later one of them will like you back.

Live and learn. Next time when you like someone, just come out and say it.

I always reply immediately. If people see that as a red flag then that’s their problem.

I found after I got into a relationship I was better at being friends with girls. Probably because I wasn’t trying so hard.

If your university is anything like mine, there’s lots of secluded hiding places where you could potentially have sex and not get caught

You should never have to settle for someone you don’t want. Be patient and you’ll find the one

Just keep being your friend and keep and eye out for her behaviour. Have a plan if she decides to get physical with you.

Unless you’re studying the same thing, best to not approach her

“Before you go, can I have your number?” That’s all you have to say

Everyone’s got their issues. Try to focus more on how he treats you than his own personal habits

Clubs are usually stupid shit like the harry potter club or the trivia club. Groups are more serious things like intramural, band, acting etc…

Join a group/club. That’s where you’ll meet all your best friends

That’s such a toxic mindset to have

Sometimes its better to ask if you can kiss her. It’s a little awkward but it helps avoid situations like this.

My point is, you’re not going to meet your soulmate By running into them at the park. Every girl I’ve dated I’ve met through mutual friends, school, community events, church, you get the idea.

Get more options. If you want to get a girlfriend, you have to be friends with girls, and then out of those girls that your friends with, hopefully one of them will be interested in dating you

You met her while out for a walk, so basically you don’t know her at all. Why don’t you try dating a girl that you already know?

Might sound cliche, but you have to go with the flow

I’ve had a handful of interactions with strangers in public. Usually while waiting in line, or some other situation where we’re standing together waiting for something. If you go in with intention of getting a date, its going to go horrible, but if you just have a regular friendly conversation it might go well.

If a girl puts you in the friend zone, then you’re just not her type

My rule of thumb is to only ask out girls that you’re friends with. It’s worked for me so far

It’s the opposite of a turn off. When I girl tells me she likes me, it’s either a huge turn on, or at the very least its flattering.

Maybe you get rejected because you think too highly of yourself.

Its not an uncommon thing. Usually the guy is the older one in the relationship.

There’s some truth to this. I’m 21 and my girlfriend is 17. She told me that she wanted to date someone older like me because I’m more of a “man” than guys her own age.

You need to balance trying and not trying. Try and live a good life and don’t worry too much about finding a partner. Then one day it’ll just fall into your lap.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
