im with you. just because some feminists are quite vile and vindictive in their attempts to paint men as monsters doesn't mean you should sink to their level. sometimes friends push boundaries and make mistakes. this is the life of the human

i disagree about the rejection. the sting of a rejection is almost tangible, even if you can take it well.

fair point. I'm still a bit outraged though. Why does she deserve anything?

I think there is some truth to this. It appears that quite often a man's sexual needs are marginalised or taken as a minor component of a relationship.

everything is generalised. there is very little meaningful discussion to have without it.

Yep. Good people drowned out by banner waving idiots with megaphones. To be clear, my original question: What is a feminist? Anyone who wants to be. Feminism is and ideology, feminist is a voluntary label

I actually agree with you. People labelling themselves by ideologies / political beliefs etc is silly to me. My point is that if someone labels themselves, when you refer to them you can use their label. In this case it's implied that is a number of people. I'm assuming that they identified themselves as feminists (i could be wrong), but if they did, and if she didn't call them feminists, what should she call them. Surely she can't be expected to identify them individually

that argument could be applied to most things. so either we label nearly nothing, or we label them as they identify themselves.

Particular people who claim to represent that philosophy So what is a feminist?
/r/MensRights26/03/15 12:22 PM

generalisation is the only way we can understand and have meaningful discussions about humans (anything). Suddenly you can't say the human heart is on the left because a few people's hearts are on the right. etc ...

I'm not sure why people need to label themselves like that at all. You can follow the feminist movement without labelling yourself a feminist. I think labelling yourself forces congruency, which leads to following parts you don't necessarily agree with.

yeh stupid people say stupid things, this is one thing that doesn't appear to have a following so i'm less than concerned. i'm a lot more concerned by the insistence that any crime perpetrated by a man is a gender issue, especially if a woman is the victim.
