It’s just a part of our routine and to let each other know that we are awake and/or sleeping. I’m not sure if that’s typical of all relationships though, so I wouldn’t take it too closely to heart, but if it’s something that upsets you it may be worth speaking to him about politely and just inquiring his reasoning to not texting extensively.
