I humbly say that I’m pretty good with women despite my ordinary looks and I agree with most of what you’re saying. Maybe the stuff I often read here works for some people, I won’t say it won’t. But I think being an engaging conversationalist is like 80% of it. The remaining 20% is just complimenting her and not creeping her out. Booze helps too.

I hit on girls very recently. It’s much harder now. Ultimately, I think it’s a matter of being genuine, positive and gentlemanly. I got two numbers too. One of which is super hot and wholesome. Ok here’s my advice. Many groups may want to socially distance. If they reject you? That’s fine. It’s not you, it’s the pandemic. But I go in with the mentality that most guys aren’t crashing tables like I did. And we all know women are not going to approach. So the mindset I have is that they probably WA…

I’m ok at this. Just keep it simple. “you’re very pretty” and maintain eye contact. It really is as simple as that. Then just wait for them to respond. Usually, they either a) blush and look away. Or b) maintain eye contact and say thank you with a big smile. My usual follow up is check on their well-being. This would depend on the context. Eg ask if they want a snack if you’re at the movies or whatever. It doesn’t have to be rocket science.

This is me. I approached 6 chicks the other night. 2 were married, 1 was down but her friend was scared so they both backed out. And I got two numbers toward the end of the night—one of which is very attractive. And this is with social distancing/face mask policies in effect! But I would never do this during the day. That’s a whole other level.

You should! But I'm suggesting saying "friends first" is a suboptimal strategy unless you're willing to meet the guy half way. A better strategy--which accomplishes your goal of weeding men out who find you boring too--is to say "no sex for the first X weeks or months."

This is what the FDS message is about... "Don't be the girl that settles for nothing and brings the bar down." I think that's a very rosy way of putting it but ok. To be clear, I am not advocating for women to settle "for nothing". I don't think anybody is suggesting that. Relationships are reciprocal. You're implying that I believe women should settle for less than what they want and that's not true. You just proved exactly why women wait. I never said women shouldn't insist on waiting. In fact…

I’m actually cool with this provided some requirements are met: she doesn’t demand exclusivity She’s a legit cool person that I think is worth the effort. (I’ve dated hot chicks with horrible personalities. Not worth it unless sex is involved and even then, still not worth it after a short while). Costs are shared 50/50. She doesn’t say friends only. In fact, if I really like her, I might suggest waiting first.

I’ve done a ton of dating the last 2 or 3 years. I tried the whole being friends first and, yeah, I completely agree. Really what I believe that means, on a very practical level, is “I want you to pay for everything and treat me like I’m you’re girlfriend but don’t expect anything from me including exclusivity.” I was in that position once and never again. She looked at me like I was heartless when I told her I didn’t want to see her again. Plus, she wasn’t even fun. I’d entertain it, perhaps, i…

It definitely helps me but mostly with the types of girls I pull. There are a lot of girls who are fit and will exclude men from consideration that are not.

Although I consider myself to be good with ladies in some aspects, I struggle with this too. The closest I’ve felt I’ve come to this involved me telling her “I don’t feel comfortable putting a label on what we have.” It was on the phone. I remember almost cringing when I said it and, honestly, I can’t even remember which girl I said it to and it was only a couple of months ago. Surprisingly, she was cool with it. I’m in another similar situation right now, actually. I really like her but she’s g…

This may be true. But it may not be. There are women who like to be chased. There are women who find it pathetic. There’s no universal answer.

I think we may be similar in personality. I’m pretty successful with women mostly because of my charm and wit. (I don’t think I’m anything special physically). I can totally see this line working. I like it and your follow up. I’m gonna use it, for sure. Thanks for sharing!

It’s really unclear. Probably false (meaning the minimum) is 2-10%. I’ve also read, anecdotally, that police actually think it’s much, much higher. I tend to believe it bc a lot of women complain how cops don’t believe them. I’ve heard cops claim many women are obviously lying when they come into the station but they take their reports anyway.

From experience. I’ve dated A LOT in the past two years. Age range from 23 to 57. A number of those had kids. They usually fall into one of those two categories I mentioned.

I’ve found two types of older women and I’m sure more types exist. One type is so busy with their day to day life that they just want a younger guy for fun. This may or may not involve sex. Older dudes for them represent lame evenings to them. Another type wants a mature man. A man that has a stable income and will scrutinize you to make sure you can provide/contribute. They won’t want to partner with someone who will be a liability. Don’t trust anybody who says women want x. I recommend to thin…

Post the text convos. Could be something wrong with you or just incompatibility. I once texted a girl after a few months of not talking and she text me back a short, bitchy response. I took that as she’s not interested and erased her from my phone. A couple months later she texts me and we go out. I confront her about that (in a playful way, of course) and she apologized. She said her mother had died around that time and she was being bitchy to everyone. But don’t lie to yourself. If this is hap…

That’s not true. You’re just trying to justify you’re own trashy behavior. It’s a certain type of woman who shares info like this and I do my best to not date them. It’s easy enough to avoid because, 9/10 times, it’s not just one trashy behavior they have—they’re just trashy all around.

I find it hard to believe that all the boyfriends are cool with it. I have a douchey friend that shows us nudes of girls he‘s dating. Maybe they’re fine with it too?

I don’t personally think all women want alphas. There are plenty of women who just want a good man—if he’s alpha or beta, that comes secondary. Unsolicited advice, I know, but you’d likely be more successful if you turn yourself into a person you do believe is worth dating. Maybe that’s a “beta” who is good at dancing, sports, or whatever. Just my two cents.

a man or woman with an n count of 1000 is definitely capable of loving you, etc. But, I’m speaking personally here, I wouldn’t want to have a long term relationship with a woman who doesn’t have the same values as I do with respect to sex. I don’t conduct myself that way and would want the same from my partner. But I would take it even further than that. Date who you want to date. If someone (man or woman) has had sex with 1000 people but only wanted to marry a virgin, who are you to tell that p…

Agree to disagree. But I also think you’re arguing against a straw man. Respect has nothing to do with this but you keep referencing it. And who’s worried and insecure? It seems like you’re making many assumptions here. It absolutely does NOT matter how soon a girl has sex with you, or how many prior partners she has had. Inferences should not be drawn on this - who are we as men to judge (when we would have sex with 100 women a month if given the chance)? I mean ok if that works for you. You do…

I largely agree. I was with you until the end. There’s no reason for OP to give up imo. I mean... people do still fall in love and get married., right? I suggest op works on building a genuine connection during the early dates. And by that I mean a connection beyond having good conversation. I mean have the same goals, have stuff in common, share personal stories and simply sharing being vulnerable together. That’s pretty rare though. Most dudes, including myself, think if she’s willing to sleep…

I guess it depends on how you “let it be known”. If you tell women “I demand you treat me with respect” then, yeah, I agree with you. But if you let it be known by conducting yourself with not tolerating disrespect, then that may be a turn on. Put it another way, a woman is unlikely to be attracted to a man she doesn’t respect.

I think a lot of what you say goes both ways. Guys want to be respected too. Guys also should show their true personality. Women get bored too. Women test boundaries too. Etc We should all afford a base level of respect to everyone. Nah, I’m not downvoting you. Just sipping on my morning coffee.

Have you been in a long term relationship? Enthusiasm only lasts for so long. Imagine being married for 20 years. Not even that, have you been enthusiastic every single time you’ve had sex? My guess is not. I haven’t.

Be careful here. Psychology suggests selecting from too many options may lead to regret. On the other hand, selecting from too few options is undesirable as well. I’ve been dating tons for the better half of the last two years and believe there is no such thing as the perfect spouse. Now, I believe that the best thing to do is find a good woman who is reasonable and compromising in addition to whatever your must-have qualities are.

I don’t know why you’re bringing up MRA? I’m not one and I’m not advancing any of their arguments. About self defense, feel free to have that opinion. But the law doesn’t see it that way as they shouldn’t.

You’d have to look into this in detail to get anything meaningful from this. The claim has to do with killing their partners but people in the US don’t get convicted for “killing” they get convicted for murder 1, murder 2, manslaughter. Further, I’m very skeptical about the claim of women killing in “self defense” bc abused women that kill their abusers usually kill when the guy is sleeping or otherwise distracted. Under the law, that’s not self defense despite what feminist organizations claim.…

This is pretty insightful. I have a similar perspective that may be useful to people here. A couple of years ago, I started going to bars/clubs a lot more often. Talking to women was always a struggle. Then I realized... Logically speaking, in all likelihood, the men and women there WANT to socialize. That's why they're there. If they didn't want to socialize, they likely wouldn't go to a club in the first place! And if you get rejected, that's fine too. You are not everybody's cup of tea just l…

As a straight hetero dude, for whatever it's worth, you look better now. However, don't go in there thinking about stuff like this. That's the wrong mindset, IMO. Honestly, she's likely thinking the same thing about herself and women take aging way more seriously than men. What I would think is... "This girl is reaching out to me because she likes me as a person. And if she's too vain to like me because I aged 5 years, then that kinda makes her a shitty person. And I know she's not a shitty perso…

I've been in this very same situation a few times over the past couple years. "Hey, since we're not gonna see each other for a couple of weeks, i'll check in with you every so often. That cool?" In my experience, they never say no--she gave you permission, after all. Also, you'll feel like you're not bugging her.

Although I largely agree with what you wrote, I’ll note that I am not a good looking dude by any means but I’ve been quite fortunate to be with a number of pretty to hot chicks in my life. I’m not bragging. Just providing anecdotal evidence that I think many women are much more forgiving than men when it comes to looks. Who knows what the proportion of them are but I’d guess that the majority of women value substance over looks. I think it’s the opposite for men. Just my opinion. But I agree wit…

Talk to people. It doesn't matter where. For me, chatting people up at a bar works. I have a drink or two to loosen me up and start chatting away. If you have bad experiences, I suggest to analyze them honestly and figure out what you did wrong. Also, assume you did something wrong. Even if they were just being an asshole, perhaps you should have picked up on the body language? Figure this out with the aim of becoming a better conversationalist. After some time, you'll get better and eventually …
