My friends were appalled that I was waiting until marriage to save numbers (not really marriage, but you know). My BF asked me to be his GF before I had saved his number. There’s no need for our phones to be littered with contact information for men we’re not in touch with 😊

~9 months in, I said that if we broke up, I wanted it to be civil. He thought I meant a divorce. He was perfectly happy with our relationship while I felt like I was drowning.

Big agree. There’s no way to be a free woman within Islam.

I know this isn’t an option for everyone, but I left Islam and my community to pursue an independent life. I just think it’s the only way.

They’re loose ideas, I’m a wee lass but I just want it to overall reflect love and thoughtfulness. I have a ring that I find classy, compliments my style, made by an artist who was inspired by a few of the themes that drive my life - eternal optimism + a genre of media, hehe. The price isn’t insane - I could buy it myself several times over - but it’s not exactly a pop rock either. Something custom would be cool too! I’d like the proposal to be intentional, not in public, and somehow relevant to…

Love this movie, but she high key should’ve left her disrespectful and belittling husband! A motivated woman can do ANYTHING’

“No drama” always means he’s addicted to chaos and drama. ALWAYS.

The CIA doesn’t even have to do the footwork here, organized religion happily does it for them - and for free. Brainwashed young women are having their opportunities limited for life thanks to the traps they’re falling into - glad I finally saw through it all shortly after graduating from college.

My ex constantly sought deployments, foreign posts and daydreamed of never spending more than a handful of days in any one place. When I got a job that allowed me to travel, he said he’d need me to stay home. Now I understand it was because he wanted to be an absentee husband and father someday, extending the bachelor lifestyle while I lost my potential and opportunities handling HIS responsibilities.

It’s actually starting to get sunnier where I am. Can’t wait to slap on a swimsuit and get the only D I need: vitamin D.

He would say that one was a good person but unattractive in X, Y, Z ways (they were together for years, but this created subtle pressure for me to look feminine), and their lives wouldn’t mess (could not provide additional information here, and again it was years in). Described the other as overreacting to news that didn’t involve her (couldn’t provide ANY context here), and one as having no ambition and saggy boobs (they were both 20 max at the time and he made her come to their college togethe…

Before I say this, I want to clarify that I do not see looking young as an achievement. But men by and large are losing at their own game. I’m in my early 20s, fit, comfortable, take care of myself, etc. Petite, athletic, saving most of what I make, etc. I was told by society that I needed to love dad bods (obese men) and stop trying to date up (just finding someone as educated, attentive and intentional as I am). Meanwhile... Most men my age are completely clueless, floundering in life, totally…

I like that no one can see my full face unless I’m specifically letting them. It’s like a layer of protection between me and creepy, malicious men.

“My love language is physical touch.” He will post on a dead bedroom subreddit if you refuse to prolapse for him on command.

As they say - give a scrub a chance and he’ll treat you like you’re the scrub! I am so much happier now :)

I was my ex’s dream girl, down to my interests, body type, worldview, wishes and more. And he still sought to change me and put me down. Not one birthday, Valentine’s Day or anniversary present in 3 years. Almost zero romance, no plans to close the LDR gap, never introduced me to his family or friends. You could be the perfect woman or even HIS perfect woman. But it doesn’t matter if he’s already decided to and is comfortable with mistreating you. It’s him, not you.

My ex wanted to wait until his late 30s at the earliest to have kids so he could “figure himself out” and because “age wasn’t a concern for him”. While mocking women who prioritized their career. While balding and gaining weight. While refusing to do anything for his health that would ensure he could actually meet his grandchildren someday. As a healthy, fit young woman, I was not having it.

Dunk him in a dustbin. You deserve better. There’ll be someone who 100% knows.

I found that no longer being depressed by someone who weighed me down and unsubtly negged me gave me so much ENERGY. I just feel so much happier and more excited about everything I do. But that doesn’t change that me and my body have nothing to do with how he treated me. He treated me poorly because that’s who he is. Now I’m free AND fit :)

I think we need to help women understand that if you have to convince him to marry you... he does NOT want to marry you! Signed, someone who spent three years trying to convince someone to love me right.

One mistake doesn’t have to be two. I bet half of this is stuff he never would’ve done when you were together? I think other commenters will have great perspectives on how to sail into the sunset without him!

When he made the choice at age 43 to live like a runaway child laborer from a Mark Twain piece, he should’ve been ready to accept the consequences that came with it. Thank GOD for FDS for opening my eyes to the BS peddled to women - that we expire at 25 and better not dilly dally on time but a 43 year old can live in a van and reasonably expect to get laid or find a random travel companion... without everyone being high as SHIT?

Something about how my boobs were “insanely perky”. Yes, I was 20. Of course then he had to bring up his exes’ boobs. Then he said something about how he couldn’t watch porn with women from my ethnicity in it because we have “very saggy” boobs... AKA his balding, overweight self couldn’t get hard to anyone who actually looked like an adult woman. Mind you, this was the NiCe guy who rEaLLy CaReS that Reddit says we all need to give a chance.

Road rage and phone throwing. People everywhere are idiots but my ex always close to yell loudly and swear like a madman. He knew I was abused growing up and that it was especially alarming for me, but he insisted that I was trying to control him.
