Are you really going to waste the best years of your youth on an experience that’s past done? These thoughts only matter because you haven’t yet let them out of your mind. Cast them away and continue your life’s work. You are 18. You have a strong body and mind to build. Money and success to earn. Haters to prove wrong. Women are a by-product of these efforts; whether you invest in a long-term partnership or not.

To answer with an unsustainable, yet extreme enough solution: war. For something more palatable: conservative values. By the second solution, I don't necessarily refer to right-oriented political leanings, but more so classical tenets found through culture, heritage, religion. These offer a timeless quality that while rejected by many in the modern day as ascribed gender roles and patriarchy, provide a pragmatic practice for male purpose.

It's only been 6 months G. Your boundaries are important, but trying to lay down the law 6 months in and telling her not to talk to this guy comes off as a loss of frame. She's been talking to him on and off but then she met you and she's been doing way more than just talk with you, so consider that for a moment and maybe maintain frame and show her a great enough time to know there's a reason why the ex is an ex.

You're over-thinking it, which isn't very RP. Regardless what you make of the dynamic and any implications, it's an invite to dinner and there's no reason for you not to enjoy yourself and contribute to pleasant conversation/evening without trying to anticipate pitfalls. As a veteran who's transitioned healthily into my own social life, what I'd like to offer is the perspective that sometimes it's just dinner, not an ambush

It's a pretty sloppy theory. Algorithmic functions that present with 'big tech' like social media platforms may pander to a social aggregate of opinions. But they are all in way more complex than what you've described as 'nerds blocking jock opinions online'.

Hi. This was a very refreshing read for me. Goes without saying that you have my fullest support. I'm in a similar position myself, with having to let go of close friendships and standing up to dysfunction within my extended family circle. I come from a similar cultural perspective as you describe; and what I can say of it is this is perhaps what's best called 'Face Value', in Asian societies. The elder gets the respect, but when we consider that everyone has their objective roles, having a 'fau…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
