That's why I think there needs to be a bigger push for men being primary caregivers. Some places offer paternity leave, but I believe 12 states only have it with CT joining this year? If I'm not mistaken. And that's if you employ more than a certain number of people. The larger issues at play have been social practices like you posted above. Women taking more time off raising children as caretakers is a choice, but also society is still set up that way. Most states in the US don't offer paternity leave. Most jobs don't. Many places don't support time off for emotional self care, which men also need but women are more apt to take.
