I'm childfree but I definitely don't go around people, especially parents, trashtalking children. However, I definitely really dislike a lot of the things involved in child-rearing. I just don't vocalize the sentiment because it would be unnecessary and might rub some people the wrong way. But believe me..the dislike is there.

If they can't have children, but want them, then you're misusing the term. They are just childless (as unfortunate for a person who wishes to have children that may be). Childfree is a person who doesn't want to have children ever (whether biological, adopted, and/or even step-children from a significant other). It is an active and conscious decision. So yes, being childfee is indeed a choice.

I think "completely" undesirable is too magnified. I think it's more of a noticeable drop in a woman's appearance which decreases the pool of potential eligible men that she might be able to attract.

I hadn't thought about it. The former gf is educated, independent, smart and well tarveled. She may have indeed broken up with him and that may have made him feel bad about himself, not being able to keep such a woman interested in him. This is my worst nightmare...being the woman a man chooses as his "safe choice". I want to be sb's first choice, that he feels lucky to be with me and that I add a lot to his life.

Wow, I'm all about being honest and not sugarcoating things around here, no hamster pelase, but perhaps that's a harsh remark to make about yourself. I want to be aware, but at the same time, kind to myself.

I agree with Natensk. Denying the wall relevancy for women is not a good idea, but at the same time we should focus on what we can work on and imrpove.

Yes, I agree. We gotta keep it real and not take this lightly. If people who have autism within their family are totally ok with the possibility of having a child with severe autism, then sure, go ahead. But if you don't have the emotional maturity, the strength and financial resources then you should reconsider. Just my two cents.

There are a lot of reasons why I don't want to have children and one of the major ones has to do with hereditary issues that I might pass on. I thank the Universe that I never liked children in the first place and that I've never felt drawn to motherhood or babies at all. Otherwise, I'd feel really sad.

Yeah, I am in the teaching field and although there are some very kind good natured women, the majority always ranges from slightly gossipy to straight out vicous and backstabing. Even during summer jobs, waitressing, for example, the environment has been toxic, and, no shit, female dominated as well. I know it's a tough pill to swallow. I know men gossip too, but they do not take it to such a nasty level. And I really dislike it when even here where we are suppossed to talk things with candor a…

This a lot. Just because you think a woman is more attractive, or even if she is objectively more attracttive, there's no justification to be mean and unkind to her. Not saying you have done that OP, but I've seen (and received) my fair share of woman on woman hurtfullness and this post just brought back some sad memories. Try to work on your self esteem. I've seen plenty of women who are not top model tier (who is anyway) with amazing partners. Take care of your physical appearance, sure, but w…

I don't agree with everything they claim here. I have to be honest regarding that, but there are many things that are definitely true (perhaps not fair, but true nonetheless). If you research evolutionary biology / psychology, you'll find a lot of explanations on why people behave the way they do. It is not always fair as I said before, and I think that is why a lot of people, even women here, get upset and defensive. They are presented with some information that doesn't benefit them or makes th…

I would say as people get older and the influence of sex hormones declines a bit, people start paying attention to other things as well. I know in the red pill, they enjoy saying women seek mainly good looks in men while they are young and not looking a provider, and that men, are so much "deeper" than that. But I've seen both sexes prioritizing physical appearance while young, so neither sex is a saint here. My point is to maximize the things you can control, such as kindness, honesty, good wor…

I think you're somewhat insecure and resentful if you express yourself like that about a group of people. And I'm not even young, so I'm not "standing up for" myself or "my crowd". I recognize competitiveness when I see it because I thought we were suppossed to be beyond our instintcs in this sub, although I tried to be polite about it. I guess we'll have to agree disagree.

Sometimes it's best to prioritize other things such as character, kindness, etc. above physical appearance. It is a tough lesson to learn for both men and women. A lesson learned too late for some.

Op, I feel your pain. I'm 30 now, but I so used to have the same "issue". I was not unhealthy or anorexic at all, just thin (although small boobs, I still had nice hips and a round bootie). And I used to receive nasty hurtful comments from other women. Never from men, never. It hurt me deeply, I felt so unnecessarily scrutinized or attacked. I honestly thought I was defective and that my future BFs would have to make a huge effort to get turned on (believe me, they had no issue getting aroused).…

Oh my...I haven't been officially diagnosed or anything, but I'm 95% I've had anxiety issues since childhood (and still do unfortunately) and autism runs in my father's side of the family, and I think I may have a slight form of it. I thought nurses didn't wipe asses off. I think they performed more clinical tasks, and that nurses assistants (is that the name?) dealt with that kind of duties. Not demeaning any kind of job though.

I agree. Sometimes people see things in black and white though, like somebody working a low income job is going to stay there for ever, what if she's working that job to pay for college? or what if she has that job and besides that she has meaningful hobbies, like learning about different things, languages, history, literature, volunteering, you name it? You can be a lady working a low income or a "low status" job and still have intellectual interests, knowledge of different things, thirst for k…

I get your point, but regarding the toxic work environment especifically, I honestly think sometimes you end up in such environments, but you have to make a living, so unfortunately, sometimes you have to put up with that. Unless you come from a really well of family and don't really "need" to work. But that's not the norm I'm afraid. I'm not sure if I got my point across. I just meant that there are variables you just can control, but you need a salary after all. First hand experience.

There's a difference between saying older women/ people have more experience than younger women/ people, which of course makes sense in general and saying all young women have to offer is their bodies. Your original opinion/phrase sounds prejudiced and even a bit bitter. It actually sounds exactly like the kind of thing red pill implies, that older women resent younger women and will prefer to say unkind things about them in order to make themselves look better due to competitiveness. I understand aging may be hard for us women, believe me, but I disagree with saying all women in their 20's have to offer is their looks. It sounds unfair, prejudiced and even bitter. You can be a 20 year old and still have a developed personality, hobbies, interests, well founded opinions, emotional maturity (believe me, being 40 or 50 is no guarantee), eagerness to keep learning, to further your career, to be a good friend, partner, overall a kind person and help others or join a humanitarian …

But RPT says men have a few years of advantage in the sense they don't seem to age as rapidly as women (for a while). I have noticed it. I'm 30 and I've seen men 27-35 and beyond looking quite good in a way that a woman that same age doesn't usually. I think that is what might be bothering OP. The imbalance in how each gender usually ages. Perhaps I'm wrong so I apologize if I misread OP.

I come from the teaching field, but I have also worked as a waitress and as a hotel receptionist. Sadly, in my experience, every female dominated work environment I've been in, has been toxic and filled with ill intentions, two facedness and backstabbing. I still ask the universe why I've ended up there. It has been so emotionally taxing, dissapointing and even painful. It seems they resent even the smallest differences, thinner than them?, younger?, a better paid position?,like to wear stylish …

I'd find that arrangement very sad, keeping in mind the woman doesn't want to adhere to poly. If they're both ok with that, it's their life I guess. But from a practical point of view, the risk of STDs is a huge disadvantage.

Why the need to judge how other women dress or their appearance if you consider yourself fairly attractive? Genuinely confident people don't trash others.

I'd like to ask something without coming across as nosy or insensitive please. I have read several times that here things are discussed in an honest upfront way, without sugarcoating or lying to protect womens' feelings because we need to see things how they really are in order to improve ourselves. Isn't discussed here to not let yourself go? Of course after pregnancy bodies change. That's just natural and completely understandable. I'm sorry OP. I can't lie and tell you it's all in your head and that you're crazy. Human beings are competitive, so that means women are too, especially in the physical appearance department. It took me a long time to accept that painful realization. Perhaps you can try to dress down a bit if you're going to meet them. On one on one interactions, you can emphasize one nice feature about that person, the eyes, the hair, the skin, so as to make her more comfortable and less competitive/resentful.

I think that not the rule. Usually after children, mothers barely have time or energy to look after themselves or eat properly so their appearance unfortunately suffers (not losing the baby weight, gaining more weight, looking tired). I'm not blaming them at all...child rearing is definitely hard...especially so for women because they make most if not all of the heavy work.

Sadly, I can't say you're wrong. I'm not a nurse, but a teacher which is quite a female dominated profession in my country. And yes, with a few exceptions which I'll remember and respect for ever, my experience has been that the majority of women tend to have some sort of instinct to see others as competition and sabotage them in different ways. It's really sad and painful... I'm 30, and still to this day I haven't found a way to not let it affect me or a female dominated workplace that isn't li…

I agree with you. I got a degree in teaching and I honestly don't think solidarity is the rule among women whether at unviersity (too focused on who's "prettier", resenting the ones who get more male attention, the ones who succeed academically, etc.), then in the work field, some women really do see other women as competition to be destroyed. I'd say one thing remains as the focus even in women in their 50's, and that's resenting other women for their physical attractiveness. It's really sad an…

This side of female relationships is really sad. There's a book, from 1999 I think, that explains some evolutionary and cultural traits that may make women behave the way they do. It is a long ass book, but oh boy, I wish I had read it at 18, or even earlier. In the Company of Women The book deals more with a work environment context though. Even if that girl was formerly as unfortunate looking as you say, there was no need to express it in such a nasty way. I'm pretty much sure you are Adriana Lima's look alike.

I've definitely seen people who look younger and NOT because they dress, act, talk like a child/adolescent. I do think older people 50+ tend not to guess younger people age right though. They usually guess a lower number. But I insist, although they are a small percentage, I have seen ladies who are blessed by their genetics because they honestly don't look their age.

Thank you for the info! I've been reading a ton about psychology, evolutionary traits/behaviors and so on, and it has helped me understand a lot about why people behave like they do. That's the reason why I don't think I could bring myself to date someone significantly older (+15 or 20 yrs.). I have always been with partners my age. I, for sure, would like to have a partner around to grow old together and later on die :(

Not all women need to be thin at all...you can be a bit thick and still be attractive...but IMO 140 is a bit too much for a 5'4 frame though no offense. In a taller body, yeah, that weight could look amazing, for example, I imagine a tall and curvy woman such as Christina Hendrix... My sister is that height 5'4 and if she were 140 pounds, she would definitely look overweight. Although I do agree that there is indeed a "too thin" limit...
