The real hard truth is that if fathers could opt out of child support at will, the state would have to pick up that tab in the form of child welfare and that would cost billions. So it's either them or the taxpayers.

Uh huh. I've said it before, the premise of this subreddit is entirely flawed. Why bother even discussing TBP? It should be DebateARedpiller.

I don't really care about TBP's reputation lol

I doubt many people take 4chan seriously, but a lot of people spend inordinate amounts of time there.

Duluth model Well, it was developed in 1981. And do you think male victims of domestic violence were considered before that? I just can't get my head around the argument that feminism hurts male victims, when it was certainly the case that they were mocked and ignored before women's lib. Or how about VAWA and male shelters (or some such bullshit with that law)? I have problems with the VAWA for my own civil liberties related reasons, but basically it's the same argument. Do you think the traditi…

If you say so. For the record I don't think I'll be coming back for a while, and it isn't because TRP just outwitted me so very badly.

Oh please[1] . You directly implied that only professors matter not A UNIVERSITY OFFICIAL, a fucking "diversity officer". I was offering a correction. But yes, the title of professor does hold more weight than a union officer. That doesn't mean every professor is a good one. Please stop with the no true scotsman feminist fallacies. General consensus in feminism is "men are to blame". If you say so.

I know. It's a bad decision to stay at home and not cultivate marketable skills, what can I say?

Sex is up there with food and shelter on Maslow's hierarchy of needs No it isn't. Ninja edit: and if it were, that might be a good argument for state funded prostitution, but certainly not forced prostitution, any more than it would be an argument that slave labor should be used to grow food for the poor.

What about the feminist men who just treat women like people, no different from men?

law are getting passed by the "bad" feminist that are very sexist. Such as? Either way, lots of bad law is being passed these days, and the least destructive of them have to do with gender I would say. So that's hardly a hallmark of decency anyway. Well they must be doing a bad job because a lot of sexist laws are being passed around. If they are, does that make them less good?

a mod here sure thinks it is and so do you That isn't what I said, don't put words in my mouth. Being as how academics disagree, and there are varying degrees of intelligence in academia, and as I've reiterated multiple times, there are plenty of bad professors, no I would certainly say that isn't how I feel. Pops up now and then in various subreddits. I'd be interested in seeing that, I remain skeptical.

I have a moral objection to paying taxes. No you don't. Don't obfuscate. Or get a job so they don't need welfare. Well that's a whole other can of worms. But an unsurprising opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 11:17 PM

There are plenty of ignorant professors in any and every field who stand to influence students. And I know of no non gender studies related major that requires a gender studies class.

I'd prefer to say the "good" feminists. I must admit I am not educated enough about feminism enough to name names lol, maybe Rebecca Walker? I know who she is lmao. I suppose thoughtful feminist identifying sociology and law professors would be up there, though, although I doubt they'd exactly make the news.

You're reading TRP daily and constantly reading/posting on TBP. Obviously you care. Are you directing this to me personally? I haven't even visited either sub even after I came back from my months long hiatus today. A hiatus to which I will probably be returning after today. Anyway, tone it down, bro.

I wish you addressed my point instead of linking long videos I don't want to watch. I did google Jessica Valenti though. A blogger. Not very high up my metaphorical ladder, hm?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 10:34 PM

It depends on what you count as "real". Is the angry, frustrated ramblings of a teenager in election season "political science"? I suppose it is, but does it matter? Does it deserve the title? As you move "up" the ladder of intelligence, sophistication, and understanding in academia, things change. In my opinion, when applied to feminism, the further "up" you go, the more true my statement becomes.

It's just sad to see it happen in a sub I once enjoyed so much... but then, I guess that sentiment has probably been uttered countless times by countless redditors.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 10:07 PM
3

Well, perhaps I exaggerated lol, but I don't think any element of tradition shouldn't be examined and scrutinized. Women and children first, Christmas materialism, extravagant weddings, it should all be up for examination.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 10:06 PM

I'm confused now. I wasn't arguing giving alimony so that these people can continue to stay at home. No, I mean fulfilling the dream before the divorce.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 10:03 PM
1

Hmm, like say to apply it to ethics. It's been said time and time again that TRP is amoral, but why should this be some ironcald piece of dogma? Let's run some normative frameworks through TRP and see what we come up with. I'm just spitballing here, what I'm interested to see is can TRP change. Ninja edit: either way all of this manifested from a simple misunderstanding lol

Sexism. The same old slut/stud double standard that dictates that a promiscuous woman is shameful dictates that a sexually unsuccessful man is pathetic. Guess they just weren't a good enough key.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 09:55 PM

I just noticed all they have and that's pretty unfair. I've been very genuine with my arguments today I think.

not sure what other ways a reddit sub can expand I meant red pill philosophy expanding to include more topics. As it stands trp does not need sophistication, it already has it So... TRP has not grown in the way I meant it.

I think maybe my argument got muddled a bit. I'm not comparing affluent married couples to poor married couples. I'm saying there are indeed SAHPs who are in a marriage that doesn't have enough income disparity to warrant alimony, and that's not fair to them. To expand on this, there are also marriages in which the lower income partner does work and have skills, but the disparity is still great enough that alimony is awarded anyway, and that makes no sense. Anyway, I am separately saying that po…

/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 09:43 PM

This is very enlightening, I think you are very probably right. Sadly, there just aren't that many good places to argue on the internet. I used Omegle for a while but the arguments were infrequent and somehow hollow, every great once in a while there would be a good one with a smart opponent but even then they usually ended prematurely. Mostly it was just inarticulate trolls. I thought I could get my fix here maybe, but it just isn't the same place it used to be.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 09:42 PM
1

Oh. I thought you meant like, sophisticated and expanded.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 09:38 PM
1

Lol just because this place is circlejerky doesn't mean you have to circlejerk in my thread about how circlejerky this place has gotten. That is far too meta for my tastes.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 09:38 PM
2

I never stated I support the appropriation of money using force and I'm not sure I do, so you're wrong. All I said was thems the brakes. Can you think of a way to enforce contracts without using force? Because I can't.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 09:36 PM
1

And my point stands that this posturing is tiresome circlejerking. But you got me curious, in what ways has TRP grown?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 09:33 PM
2

Are you being sarcastic?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 09:31 PM

I wasn't being sarcastic, I was being flippant, and turnabout is fair play.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 09:28 PM
2

That isn't what I said or what I meant.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 09:26 PM
1

I think I've kind of lost the train of thought in your argument
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 09:26 PM
2

/u/AnnoyingSeaAnt /u/MagicGainbow And the circlejerk commences.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 09:24 PM

It used to be pretty balanced, with very thoughtful and articulate people of both pills :(
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 09:22 PM

Morally, leaving any relationship is justified for any reason (except the relationship you have with your children). In real life, it's far more complex, and recrimination and broken hearts are real life things. Suffice it to say, sexual incompatibility is a genuine relationship problem, it counts.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 09:19 PM

No I suppose not.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 09:10 PM

There was no such thing as spousal rape until very recently. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marital_rape[1] Hmm, fair enough, I hadn't thought of that. I was wrong. Do you think prohibiting spousal rape was a bad idea? Because it's ok for other people to use a body for all those other things, but no one may use a body for sex? Again, who says it is ok to use a body for those things? There are labor laws in place and it's been quite a while since the western world saw battlefield conscription.

I read through it again, I really can't see where he makes mention of overt shaming by feminism or feminists. I finally got to the relevant bit in the fourth article in that blog post lol (you couldn't have done me a solid and told me?) and it seems like his umbrage is with the feminist sphere's take on "Nice Guys™" That topic, and whether or not it counts as virgin shaming, is really deserving of its own post, but suffice it to say I do not think it does. I don't have the mental fortitude to ta…

I've got mad managerial, organizational, and handyman skills because of what I do at home, but if I were to get divorced who the hell would I use as a reference? You should look into that. Really. Do some internships or something, get something you can use as a reference. So because someone says "I'm poor and had to work during my marriage and having a family you should have to suffer as I did to be fair" Then we should let all people have to do this? In the interest of "fairness". Basically, ye…

Maybe so. But that doesn't really give red pillers any passes.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:48 PM
1

It's only recently, mostly courtesy of western culture in the last fifty to a hundred years, that a woman had fiat over her own body. That's pretty revisionist. Rape was not ok a hundred years ago in many places lol. It's ok to work me to death to support the system or to go catch arrows with my face to defend it, but a vagina is sacred? No, who said it was? Are you arguing that rape should be ok? Were those ancestors right all along?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:47 PM
-4

I did. And I sympathize with the guy even if I disagree with him on some things. But your point was that virgin shaming is "very feminist", which one bloggers catty retort does not demonstrate.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:45 PM
1

The whole "oh God I am so sorry that you feel that way" sounds incredibly condescending when you've heard it a tad too often. But that isn't what happened here Apart from that "I am so sorry that this happened to you" plays in a similar ballpark as "someday someone will come along and love you for who you are" or "it's not you, it's me" and other feel good-weasel phrases. Are there any cases at all in which non-pragmatic sympathy is appropriate? /u/cherryblue12 didn't even couch a rebuttal in hi…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:42 PM

Oh, a blogger said something mean and dumb. You're right, burn feminism to the ground.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:34 PM
1

without actually contributing to the solution. Lol what do want her to do, pity fuck him?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:31 PM

As I stated elsewhere, using force in certain circumstances to take your money is part of civilization. Even most anarcho-capitalists agree with force to enforce contracts. Force to take sex, however, is not part of civilization. It's not necessary for society to function. The use of force is an evil only to be used when necessary. I'm sure you agree?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:29 PM
1

Then he communicated poorly.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:25 PM
5

Ahh I misunderstood. In that case, what about those who have a moral objection to casual sex? Should their choice be to violate their ethics or starve?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:25 PM
1

I don't, at all. If OP wanted to talk about child support AND alimony, then he should have.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:23 PM
-2

There are plenty of dumb, cruel people in this world, yes. Sometimes I'm one of them. I'm guessing sometimes you're one of them. Is it really that surprising some of them would find their way into TBP?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:22 PM
1

Not by any more than you are overestimating the prevalence of alimony, which is only awarded in marriages with extreme income disparity.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:17 PM
10

That would jive with me if their weren't poor people who didn't have this excuse. But there are. If you decided not to cultivate any skills while you "took care of" your spouse, that was irresponsible and you can go ahead and face the consequences. One more poor person isn't a tragedy.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:15 PM
2

/u/Atlas_B_Shruggin I have a feeling...
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:12 PM
5

Does that mean that you should also be forced to sleep with unattractive women?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:12 PM
0

Yeah, maybe you're right. I'm looking at this professor more deeply, and she does seem like a piece of work. I appreciated the Presidents comments because they spoke to my feelings that professors should have room to "stretch their legs", but this woman is just deeply unlikable.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:04 PM
2

In point of fact: someone recently posted to /r/raisedbynarcissits[1] about the mother earning more and STILL demanding receiving from the husband. Uh huh... that doesn't mean she got it. For the record in the overwhelming majority of situations, the payments go from men to women. Alimony figures haven't been collected by the US census since the early 90s, so it's impossible to know. It's very likely that the majority of alimony payments (which occur in a minority of divorces) do go from men to …
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 08:03 PM

You're moving the goalposts a bit. One could argue that there is nuance in #killallmen too, in that it's (for the most part) a satirical movement not meant to be taken literally. (Not that I'm particularly enamored of it)
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 07:44 PM
3

In a divorce I don't get fucking shit...yet my money is still up for grabs. Unless you make less money than your spouse. Alimony is, by it's nature, meant to be unequal. I've already stated I disagree with it. For the record it's based purely on income, gender has nothing to do with it.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 07:42 PM
-2

Ok... that's a bit removed from my point lol. A white professor said a racially controversial thing that was perceived by many as being racist, and kept his job. You were wrong about there being no tolerance for that kind of speech for white professors. I'm sorta kinda glad both professors kept their job. For those fields, it's important to ruffle feathers.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 07:39 PM
1

There are some elements of traditionalism that shouldn't be done away with. I disagree.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 07:36 PM
0

So my money is always up for grabs, but nothing else is. Uh, yes. That's how it's been for hundreds of years. Of course, you're exaggerating, your money isn't always up for grabs, the use of force to take your money is illegal in many cases lol. But no, sex is never "up for grabs" in modern civilization. Are we really having this conversation?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 07:31 PM

If anything this is merely a bias blind spot. To call it gaslighting is a groan-inducingly hyperbolic use of a buzzword.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 07:26 PM
-1

I'm not so sure.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 07:18 PM
-2

The government demands your money through taxation, contract enforcement often demands money, and so on and so on. Using force to separate you from your money is a pretty normal part of civilization.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 07:10 PM
-2

I can definitely see firing her, but the president made some decent points for not doing so.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 07:05 PM
17

No person should ever receive alimony. It's class warfare. If you have no skills other than being a homemaker, you can deal with being middle class to poor. Only the spouses of the upper 15% of income brackets get alimony. You don't just automatically deserve to stay rich just because, through luck of marriage, you were once. As for your point, no slavery is not ok just because alimony isn't either lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 07:01 PM
-2

I don't know the full context so I can't really speak on it, but that seems reasonable Edit: it does seem like that Mustafa person could be fired though.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 06:44 PM
-3

I didn't see that. Well that's a shame, but it is important to bear in mind there are an awful lot of professors in the world. Some of them are bound to be less intelligent.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 06:40 PM
-4

She's not a professor, and yes, that would include her.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/15 06:33 PM

For what it's worth, I'm a feminist and I'm against alimony too lol. The idea of not wanting women to work is painfully outdated though.

would your opinion change if I share here more than 10 upvoted comments which does so? It depends on the time span they occurred in. But then youd argue those comments aren't virgin shaming at all, then why waste my time? You're right, you probably shouldn't waste your time. Not because I think I'll be disingenuous, but because I'm not that invested in the reputation of TBP. If you want to mock TRP do so, why wouldn't you call them "fat" or "mentally disabled" ? oh because that would be offensiv…

People who truly understand feminism know that it's not "women vs men", it's "all of us vs sexism". Women being sexist is hardly a devastating blow to the feminist viewpoint lol.

So in general, I see virgin shaming very commonly to TBP even more than slutshaming on TRP. I haven't really been around in a long while, but I find this impossible to believe. Virgin shaming is wrong. It's a product of the same sexism that leads to slut-shaming, and smart, compassionate people who put in the thought will realize that. Feminists who deserve the title will avoid it. /r/TheBluePill is not a feminist subreddit. /r/TheBluePill is not trying to better the world. /r/TheBluePill is pre…

And be lucky. At any rate, as others have said, "make six figures" seems to be a regular part of TRP "advice" when it comes to women, it's just a totally naive way to plan your life.

So TRP is reactionary and bitter instead of dry and accurate? I mean I agree, but...
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/15 09:59 PM

For the men of TRP, quality is mostly about looks since they don't care about marriage anyway. There are a lot of RP men who are interested in LTRs, though, and TRP gives them horrible advice for obtaining a good one. For instance, when was the last time they suggested going after educated women? Education is the biggest factor for successful marriage. But on the contrary, TRP has a marked anti women in college bent.

TRP says if you work out, better yourself, etc. you can live your life this way. Isn't it pretty pie-in-the-sky though? I've said before that if women are pissing away their chances with a quality spouse by having fun early marrying late, then so are men.

However a six figure salary, or even say 80K salary is much more achievable. Only about 6% of the US population makes six figures.

Why do you keep bringing up instances of violence as though it's supposed to convince me of anything? We already agree on that. I think we had a communication disconnect here. I didn't understand your "aside from an overall physically abusive one" to mean that physically violent marital rape was possible. Ok, so with that in mind, let's talk about coercion. Let's say a wife finds out her husband was involved in a robbery 5 years ago. She's always wanted to cut him during sex, but that is a hard …

The first example is physically violent. I don't get why the distinction matters. He could easily just push her off. It's his wife for Christ's sake, is he really too in fear to refuse her? It is possible for a woman to be physically stronger than a man. What about disabilities? It is also entirely possible for a man to be afraid of a physically abusive wife. If I tell my Husband I don't want to with just words and he keeps escalating but I don't physically try to stop him, he isn't raping me. I…

She protests, but he holds her down and continues. There ya go, marital rape. Or even let's say he has a low sex drive and doesn't want it tonight, and she decides she's taking it anyway. Any moderately attractive woman can go to the right type of bar(a college type where people mingle amongst eachother) in sweatpants and a hoodie without any makeup and have no issue getting guys to talk to her/bed her/etc. Talkin about like... going to work and going out.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/15 09:25 PM

Are you implying that a naturally attractive woman needs to dress up and shit to get laid/hit on? Red pill sorts often forget to add the qualifier "by the most attractive partner possible" at the end of "get laid" when talking about women. Isn't that what we're all trying to do? (Those of us who engage in casual sex anyway) Also, women have to put in far more effort to even be considered baseline presentable.

FWIW, I'm still nice, I just actually give a shit about my appearance is all. "Just be yourself" is a platitude that basically means "I don't want to deal with the guilt and awkwardness of being the one to tell you to wash your fucking face sometimes, dude". Telling someone they have terrible fashion or hygiene is hard, and it's no surprise most people don't bother, especially if the guy seems like a lost cause, or is easily made bitter and resentful, as I was (so nice!)
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/15 05:42 PM

their reality was a complete lie. This is what I'm talking about. This is indoctrinating language, used to rile people up. The world didn't lie to me, I was just a fucking dumbass. There was no reason for me to be upset, I was just too self-deluded to realize that hygiene and fashion were important. I had no right to be angry. If I found TRP, maybe I would have never realized that, because they conveniently provide infinite scapegoats for me to blame all my problems on.

They're deluded is all. Maybe... but honestly, I wish I saw this very video back then. It certainly would have done a lot more good for me than finding TRP. Thats why the first piece of advice on TRP is to lift and the second is to dress better. I always hear this, but I don't even see a fitness or fashion sub in their sidebar. I've never even seen style advice on TRP. Shouldn't the first thing it says on the sub be: Stop. Go to /r/fitness and /r/malefashionadvice first. You may never even need to come here.

This is such a cop out. So... your opinion is that attractive men are generally assholes? If "lifting" and "grooming" was such ubiquitous common sense, why don't more guys do it? Well, good habits that require effort are difficult to develop on your own, especially if you aren't raised that way. This doesn't just include making yourself attractive, but any positive quality that requires work. /r/PurplePillDebate29/01/15 07:13 PM

Skeptical doesnt mean dismissive. Maybe this did happen. Either way, this got a lot of traction, enough to get on the front page of /r/all. If that happened to a red pill post you better believe we'd talk about it. For the record PPD has talked about field reports too.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/15 07:05 PM

Where did I say I wasn't skeptical? I noticed it on the front page, and out of curiosity checked to see if it was posted on PPD. It wasn't, so I posted it myself.

None of that really matters aside from semantics. The problem is that you seem to believe it is morally permissible to blackmail a woman for sex because you disapprove of her actions. I'm not RP, but I don't think this is what RP means when they say "amoral". I believe they mean to communicate "these are the tools you can use, and hold no morality on their own. What you do with them is up to you." Your actions are still subject to moral scrutiny.

/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/14 04:22 AM
1

That's all well and good, but why do you suppose TRP puts sluts down in a more abstract way, using slut as an insult, for instance?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/14 04:19 AM
1

...what? Do you also look down on garbage men?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/14 04:17 AM
0

Why is this issue important to TRP?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/14 04:06 AM
2

I bet a lot of TRPers argued the pair-bonding case. /u/muchpriviloge's thread, in my mind, shoots that theory down. TRP does not harp on and on about under-educated women. They harp on and on about sluts.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/14 04:03 AM
7

This is a good counterpoint. I feel like there's still something to OP's stats though. TRP brings up the promiscuity/divorce rate correlation a lot. Why do you think that is? I made a thread relating to this question too, this is not something I want to let go.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/14 03:56 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/14 04:10 PM

I did, but I think /u/SirNemesis has an even better, broader argument against OP's position.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/14 03:30 PM

I think your view does not account for Stockholm syndrome. Also, the only thing that happened to Rice is he got fired, which is more than reasonable.

Kinda funny talk coming from a ho lol. Are you super hot? And ripped? Even a woman would need to be really hot to get a sugar daddy in most cases.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/14 11:21 AM

Men are not as emotional as women because they have more grey matter which enables them to be more logical. Logic is not the opposite of emotion. People can be emotionally stunted and also illogical, and vice-versa.

I'm only pointing out that you do, indeed, have a conscience. Do you think morality is a useless thing to talk about or sophisticate?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 08:40 PM
2

I'm a man. It's in my flair lol. And I'll be 100% honest: I'm not sure what you're on about lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 08:25 PM
1

on my conscience So all this bullshit about not sticking to moral principles is just that, and talking about right and wrong in the context of TRP is perfectly valid. I don't define rape as willy nilly as you do. Well that's unsettling. Should I understand this as meaning you engage in "borderline" behavior?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 08:22 PM
4

I mean, you're asserting these things to be true, but these philosophical questions have not been "solved" and have been the subject of academic debate for millenia.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 02:30 PM
1

Well, I think that makes some sense for a psychological egoist, but some people (myself included) think that being good is a reward in and of itself. Ninja edit: the TL;DR of social contract theory is that people behave in an ethical manner just so that society can happen and we can all mutually benefit from not murdering and robbing and raping each other all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 02:13 PM
2

Ah, so you are a misanthropist. That makes a lot of sense, actually. And don't worry, I'll label you for you :)
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 01:54 PM
1

So I imagine you are a psychological egoist and a social contract theorist then? Not everybody agrees with those positions, either. Some believe that altruism is possible.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 01:50 PM
1

So you are indeed a moral nihilist? Would you press a button that would kill a random person in the world instantly but you could literally sleep with anyone at any time you wished, including celebrities? (and nothing bad would happen to you)
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 01:46 PM
2

It wasn't a line, it was a rant, and applying it to sex would mean rape is permissible, if we take it to its logical conclusion.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 01:43 PM
1

I know that. I'm engaging in a thought experiment, and trying to demonstrate the point that this whole anti-morality blustering is rather silly.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 01:30 PM
2

So you are telling me the only thing stopping you from raping is that it is inconvenient and unpleasant? The morality does not weigh in at all?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 01:22 PM
6

...not everyone is an ethical egoist?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 01:09 PM
2

Ok, so if morality is of no consequence, you are true, black-hearted moral nihilist, then can I assume you will rape if you can get away with it? Sexual strategy is amoral, right?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 10:01 AM
2

How exactly could RP be said to "work" for a woman?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 07:51 AM
2

You say you get laid plenty, but if women followed that advice, you wouldn't now would you? Sure I would, because being a good person basically has fuck all to do with getting laid.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 06:27 AM
6

Lol well that is a silly way to dismiss an entire field of ethics. It's flawed from the start, "be a nice good person" is a goal unto itself, not an answer to the question "how do I attract women?" I frankly don't know who you think is dispensing that advice.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 06:14 AM
2

...I really think some therapy could do you good. You clearly have some things to overcome, and I don't think this hatred is healthy.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 06:05 AM
2

Blue pill is not really a community. Well, it is, but not one where we discuss ideas or anything. If you want to poke fun at TRP with us I mean I'm sure you're welcome. If you mean blue pill like how TRP means it sometime, then the community would just be, well, your community lol. Like, in real life. I'm sure you can find a niche. I've said it before, but "purple pill" makes little sense. It would be more accurate to call it "kinda red pill" lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 06:01 AM
2

Lol you are so silly. I love the emotional appeal "what about your SON!?!?" I think women should be smart, opinionated and ambitious. I value fairness and expect or, even better, want to do my share in the home. I get laid plenty.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 05:57 AM
2

So men have a harder time getting laid means, say, that women are Machiavellian? We do not have to accept every ridiculous cognitive leap TRP makes just because they are right about one thing that everybody knows anyway.

That doesn't even counter what I said, man. I mentioned elsewhere in the thread that organic friendships are fine, it's when you try to strike up a friendship with someone with the express intention of asking them out that it gets weird. And honestly, you really think people don't marry their high school sweetheart in this day and age?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 04:10 AM

My point is that friendships usually occur out of organic interaction, and if you happen to become friends with a woman, and you start to like her and start to want to ask her out, hey, nothing wrong with that, happens all the time. But if you, from a distance, see a girl you want to date, and instead of doing the normal thing and, uh, asking her for a date, you say "Wait! I could do the normal thing right now and ask her out (since that's what I want) but instead I will try and insert myself in…

I just noticed your flair lol, it doesn't have anything to do with my first thread on PPD, does it? :p
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 03:10 AM
5

You have such an obnoxious argument style. "You lose! Haha, neener neener!" For one, I'm not the person you responded to, and for two, your presenter is talking about innuendo and euphemism, not dishonesty. I, as well, ask if a woman wants to "hang out and watch a movie" when everybody knows what that means. That is not the same thing as actually making her believe I am not interested in a sexual relationship with her.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 03:05 AM
5

Wtf are you talking about? Being indirect is not the same thing as being misleading, using euphemism and tact is fine as long as you aren't sending the entirely wrong (or even dishonest) signals. And I give awesome advice.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 02:45 AM
2

I think so, yes. I wouldn't befriend a man in this way (deliberately seeking them out after learning about them) so why would I do it with a woman, especially if in the back of my head I was always trying to calculate when to make my move? It would be weird and fake.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 02:02 AM
2

No, but imo it's nothing that needs resolving, not treating women like delicate balls of hormones who might break down at any moment has been serving me well so far.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 01:58 AM
20

Lol this very thread is turning into an anti-woman circlejerk.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 01:57 AM

The anti-woman circlejerk is so ubiquitous to TRP I can't believe some TRPers here deny it.

I have never seen this opinion expressed here or otherwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 01:30 AM

Lol but I don't want to settle down with a traditional woman, and you are bananas if you think that traditional women looking to marry young literally don't exist.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 12:43 AM

Haha ok buddy, my point is that you have sabotaged your ability to find a traditional woman as a life partner with your philandering ways.

/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/14 12:08 AM

When I say "player", I am disparaging promiscuous men. You will have a harder time finding a truly traditional woman because you are so promiscuous and modern and liberal. Maybe "player" is the wrong word. You're a slut ;)
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 11:44 PM
3

Ah I see, I could have sworn I saw you write something about being promiscuous! Maybe not...
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 11:35 PM
3

Just because you have shrunk your dating pool less than a woman who exhibits the same behavior who has the same desires might have, does not mean you haven't shrunk it at all. My point is that I've known plenty of traditional women, and that plus what I've observed on OkCupid as a promiscuous man have led me to believe that red pillers have far fewer options for a traditional partner down the line than they may think.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 09:25 PM
9

Lol because AFBB is a given. You are not on TRP dude.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 09:20 PM
4

Well you probably won't because you already threw away your chances at a unicorn by being a player :p
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 09:14 PM
2

No. Whether we like it or not, men are not judged anywhere nearly as harshly as women are for their number of sexual partners. In fact, unless a man demonstrates very little discernment, his promiscuity is generally accepted as an indication of his overall desirability - what TRP refers to as preselection. You are talking to a woman in this very thread who demonstrates otherwise. Is she lying? Is it worth missing out on her and women like her to get your nut off now?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 09:02 PM
4

recognize believe
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 08:59 PM
2

I don't think less men are becoming open to promiscuity (just the opposite really), but I think a great deal more women are becoming open to promiscuity, which TRP bafflingly complains about. So casual sex is becoming easier for men to get, and even easier for women to get. "Hookup culture" and all that.

Do your "plates" know their relationship with you is ephemeral and non-exclusive? You think they would dislike the real you? Do you ever wish someone could love you for who you really are? Do you plan on playing this game for the rest of your life?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 07:10 PM
4

I have literally never seen a woman storm out of a meeting. I cannot say the same about men. Men, IME, seem to care a lot more about "official" workplace drama, like perceived injustice from management.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 07:06 PM
5

I don't mind "men's rights movement", because I think it's more useful to fight specific issues (like sexual violence against male prisoners) than to fight for something vague and nebulous like "equality". Unfortunately, MR could more accurately be called the "anti-feminist movement" sometimes.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 07:04 PM
7

I call myself an MRA for the same reason I call myself a feminist; because it's better to try and steer the movement from the inside than to point fingers from the outside and try to destroy it by latching onto the worst examples. I care about issues men face, and I think that some segments of the MR movement might even have a shot at influencing those issues! That said, /r/MensRights is the tumblr radfems of MR. More than half of the content there seems to be "look at what the fucking feminists…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 07:04 PM
6

Do you think it would be rational for red pill men who desire a life commitment with a traditional woman to avoid promiscuity?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 06:51 PM
8

See, that kinda talk is why you will never land a good girl
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 06:37 PM
3

This makes some sense. Disclaimer: I am the last person who should speak on the nuances of a relationship, but I've seen couples fight, and a lot of the time (whether it's a man or a woman asking it) "what's wrong" sounds a lot more like "what the hell is the matter with you!?"
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 06:09 PM
4

So would your advice to young red pillers be "live it up while you're young, you can always settle down with a nice, traditional woman when you're older"?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 06:03 PM
9

Heh, reverse the genders and this could be easily believable as a conversation between a normal woman and a red pill man.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 06:00 PM
6

it's not as though hiding the number will hide the effects it has had on her. Lol right back atcha. A good girl can smell a player a mile away ;)
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 05:43 PM
3

So even though clearly different men view sex differently, like me and /u/RedPill4LYF, or those betas, all women view sex the same?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 05:42 PM
6

Secondly, back when I actually used OKC I just didn't answer the questions I thought would be problematic. I suppose it would also be fair game for women to lie about their sexual history to men then?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 05:21 PM
5

You both are crazy. For the seriously traditional, wait-til-marriage women TRP seems to prefer for LTRs, it absolutely is a deal breaker.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/14 05:19 PM

Now that I look back, I realize those guys weren't really douchebags, I was just jealous and bitter, and the guys who really were douchebags were bullies, who were normally ugly creeps anyway. That was kind of a tangent, what was the question? Ah, actually, even though I can't draw any specific parallel betwen my youth and my beliefs about gender, in my 20s there is one obvious influence. Sex positive …

/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/14 11:53 PM
3

A vast majority of people don't want to have sex with me, that isn't why I would be annoyed (mad's a little strong). I would be annoyed at being led on and flaked out on. Of course if she said anything like "I'm really sorry to do this, but..." then I would just be disappointed, perhaps concerned, but not annoyed at all. As I said elsewhere in the thread, this has never happened to me anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/14 11:32 PM
1

Do you think you'll settle down eventually?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/14 10:43 PM

You have every right to get angry at anyone for any reason. Whether or not it's reasonable depends on the context. I would probably be a bit miffed if a gal flaked out on me after things got hot and heavy without apologizing or explaining herself, for instance. I mean, I wouldn't be furious or anything, but that would be obnoxious.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/14 10:34 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/14 09:11 PM
11

To expand on this: you have every right to get pissed at a woman for leading you on if this series of events doesn't lead to sex, every right to call her out, ask her what the fuck is wrong with her, and kick her out (I probably wouldn't, but you do have that right). You do not, however, have the right to just have sex with her anyways for fuck sake.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/14 09:09 PM

First off, you were both drunk - you even moreso. Why should it be her that was raped, and not you? I actually missed that part, I thought it was the other way around. I'll edit my post accordingly.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/14 08:50 PM
8

The word "rape" has a lot of weight behind it, and sometimes the word is so powerful that it can make it seem like any time consent is not explicitly given it's as bad as ambushing and forcing yourself on someone in a dark alley. Is what you did ethical? No. Should you avoid repeating this mistake? Yes. Are you some horrible monster rapist for this slip up? Nah man. As for contacting her and clearing the air, I think that's a great idea, it might put your and her heart at ease, but I wouldn't do…

/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/14 08:18 PM

Maybe there are, but women are judged for giving up sex too easily while men are judged for not being able to get sex. This is true, and the slut/stud double standard, along with other factors, does create an imbalance. I'm not trying to argue otherwise. But to me, "women are the gatekeepers of sex" suggests that all men are trying to sleep with any woman at all times, and that women never approach, and that men never reject. This is, of course, ridiculous. why male incel communities are common …

I disagree with you so fundamentally this conversation is bound to just spin in circles. "Women are the gatekeepers of sex" is a gross oversimplification and is becoming less and less true. I'm a good man. I'm not ignored. Being a Nice Guy™ is not the same as being a good man, and that's coming from someone who was one of those self-described Nice Guys. actually Oh thanks for clearing that up! You went on kind of a bend there, but one thing stuck out to me: An analysis of the psychometric Big Five consistently find that high levels of disagreeableness predict high sexual success in both men and women. This suggests to me that at least men are just as "bad" as women, but more probably that it isn't selection of the opposite sex that causes this correlation, but simply a larger likelihood of breaking traditional value and being promiscuous. To me…

You know, I've seen this article used as rage-bait time and time again in TRP, but rereading it now I realize the author doesn't advise against randomly fucking non-bad boys. Considering that, I don't think this is an example of alpha fux/beta bux or in any way a bad thing. I know I, as a man, would have much more strict priorities for a life partner, but anyone I'd wife I would probably fuck as well. Why is this such a horrifying thing when women do it?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/14 06:24 PM

Ah, the old "look at reality" argument TRP trots out. Here's my reality: women are largely awesome and not evil harpies at all :)

Feminism has infected mainstream culture. Do you honestly think people would have been sympathetic to this man prior to feminism? That people wouldn't have chortled at his plight? Or that a "damsel in distress" view of women wasn't the case? Prior to feminism people were far more horrified at bodily harm being visited upon women than men. Feminism wasn't responsible for people dismissing Sharon's words, that is par for the course, historically. It's not that something (feminism) has infected cul…

What is this book? Right, but feminist academics argue that DV is one way women have been kept oppressed to maintain patriarchy I'm fairly certain abuse is a result of oppression, not the cause of it.

The reason DV against men is seen as good and just retribution is due to ideology. It's not. The reason the feminists are covering up DV at an academic level (supporting the tenets of the ideology) and celebrating DV is ideology. They aren't. A conspiracy theory that says DV is gendered and women were subjected to in order to oppress them for 1000s of years. No academic would argue DV was the cause of oppression.

A few more examples doesn't mean it's not cherry picking, and that BP man was me, from this very conversation -_- I changed my mind, these examples of women making hay of abuse towards men is not worse than TRP. It's ignorant and disgusting, sure, but it's not indoctrinating anybody. TRP is a huge body of material wholly designed to change your worldview. It is an ideology. Sharon Osborne being a sexist idiot is not an ideology. She can more easily get away with it because we live in a sexist so…

I wouldn't say this one cherry-picked example is representative of "women's culture", whatever that even means. I think you would have something if you pointed out that Cosmo, for example, is considered much more acceptable than TRP in mainstream culture. That's a good point, and indicative of deep seated sexism in society. But I don't think TRP is "more benign". As I said, they are exactly analogous.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/14 03:28 PM

I have spent a good part of the past year talking about why I judge TRP lol. I don't think it's benign. I think it's insidious and fosters bigotry.

Listen, your question was why I don't judge this host as harshly as I do TRP. The answer is: I do.

And Bill Burr asked what Rihanna did to provoke Chris Brown, let's get real. Edit: and Cosmo has said far worse than this, even advocating genital mutilation for perceived slights. I guess sure, it's in jest, but it's pretty offensive and not cool.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/14 02:52 PM
4

Let me get something straight: I find Cosmo to be basically perfectly analogous and exactly as bad as TRP, but Cosmo won't bicker with me. So yeah, this video is some sexist bullshit. So is this video. But I can't argue with those people. For whatever reason, TRP lets me argue with them. That's the difference.

Do you think all human life is sacred and/or valuable? Yes. It seems as good a place as any to form an ethical groundwork. Perhaps it is empathy that makes me feel that way; I value my life, so it is easy to vicariously care about other human's lives. I feel any being with consciousness and self-awareness's life has value, including other intelligent species on earth. What do you consider to be universal human rights? Default custody goes to the woman I do, and I think it's probably true that the courts are sexist when it comes down to it, but a very small percentage of custody cases ever get to court. I think in most spheres "feminism", as a concept, plays second fiddle to more active movements like "human rights" anyway. reddit really blows how large or influential feminism is out of proportion anyway, because tumblr and Anita whatsherface are so easy to mock. "Has become"? It's obvious that the reason men are looked down on for leaving a marriage is a holdover from traditional sexism.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/14 05:39 AM

I think a huge part of it is men are conditioned to feel obligated to stick with a marriage, even if they're unhappy. Traditional values would shame a man for "abandoning" "his" family, and most people would view the woman as the poor victim callously thrown aside.

I think TRP comes off as more insidious than subs like /r/GreatApes or /r/beatingwomen. Those subs are very clearly offensive, to the point of being ignorable trollbait. TRP seems, to many people, to prey on men's insecurity and frustration and indoctrinate them into something vaguely cult-like, with almost-plausible opinions that mirrors ignorance most have encountered in real life, especially women. Obviously whether this is true or not has been the subject of much contention in this very sub,…

Haha yes, sorry. Alimony is awarded when the income disparity is enough between the divorcees, usually if one party is fairly wealthy, so the other party can maintain that standard of living. It does not take children into consideration.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/14 01:44 AM
1

I think we are getting muddled up in legal details. The thing about alimony is it's awarded even without children. So I guess my question is: are you for increasing child support or lowering the income bracket necessary for alimony?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/14 01:12 AM
1

The alimony would help offset the hit in standard of living one spouse incurs when helping the working spouse concentrate on advancing in their career and earning potential at the expense of their own. Isn't that unfair to caretaker spouses who don't get lucky enough to marry a rich person?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/14 09:11 PM
1

I think there is a miscommunication here. I am not saying divorced moms (or dads who end up raising the kids) don't deserve more child support. This post is about alimony. My point is only people divorcing much wealthier partners would get alimony, and if their partner is that wealthy, they will get a large monthly child support payment anyway. The question was: is alimony necessary or relevant? My answer was that because the only people who do receive alimony get substantial child support anywa…
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/14 07:33 PM

My point is that if there is enough income disparity between the partners, and the wealthier partner makes enough money to actually pay alimony, the caretaker will probably be receiving upwards of $1000 a month in child support anyway, which is more than most caretakers who aren't in an alimony situation would get anyway. If you want to raise the child support percentage, raise it, but to give those certain caretakers who are already advantaged and receiving more than most an even bigger edge ma…

I know I've never had problems making a pussy squirt You do know that isn't an orgasm, and only certain women are even capable of this, right?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/14 05:55 PM

I am pretty sure this was only the status of women in Athens, but I'm not 100% sure. Hmm, I thought I read that pornai were prevalent throughout Greece, but I could be wrong too. in times where there were coverture and such, single women were allowed to own property and money and worked etc. Allowed does not necessarily mean "could" in many of these societies, history is not known to have been kind to spinsters.

Well, in Classical Greece, the cradle of civilization, women were undoubtedly property, and ill treated property too. For basically any reason, the husband could abandon his wife to the "pornai", forced prostitution basically, and if found cheating, including if they are raped, the husband had every right to kill his wife. This is the most stark example I can think of off the top of my head, but throughout "western" civilization evidence can be found for women's property status can be found in t…

Not a year I can name, a year I can go back to... I need a parameter, I sincerely do not know when "western culture" started in your mind. The middle ages? The renaissance? The enlightenment? How was he talking out of his ass? Did you read the transcript for his speech? I don't remember. It was an informal speech at a dinner party though, and I read much of it. Anyway, he's an economist, he has no formal education in this subject to justify saying controversial things. That is why he was talking out of his ass. whether or not the specific qualities that lead to increased value are being correctly acted upon. That's just it. You already, in your head, know those qualities. Those are the right ones, the ones you listed adopted a cocky/playful attitude, exhibited more social proof, or was more self-centered/'interesting'. are the right qualities. Because TRP is correct. And if doing those things you listed didn't work, it couldn't be because they don't work, it must be the user's fault.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/14 08:54 PM

You shouldn't just accept rejection, but you absolutely should accept it. There's nothing wrong with trying to improve your chances in whatever ethical way you can, but even the most attractive person who approaches a lot of potential partners in the correct settings in the right ways will probably be rejected more often than not, simply by the nature of our mostly monogamous society. Handling rejection is a very important life skill to build, especially if you want a successful sex or dating li…

Really, I don't think alimony comes into play that often at all it seems to be rare these days. This is true. I don't think this is a bad thing though. My point was merely that child support is based on income, and if you make enough money to pay alimony you make enough to already be giving a healthy chunk of change for child support anyway. I agree that there is some fucked up situations with child support, my family never saw a dime from my sperm donor, but that has little to do with alimony. …

No I don't think it's necessary or relevant. Child support should be sufficient. If a partner has no children and spent a long time jobless and hasn't cultivated any skills, well, that was an irresponsible decision. Abolished I think. No, it is purely mathematical in nature. Basically, yes. There are plenty of poor people out there who don't get alimony, why is it so important to maintain affluence? Again, child support is sufficient.

Believing that age doesn't matter for men's attractiveness, that balding and wrinkles will never be noticed, must be a very attractive view for you to hold, being as how you're getting on in age yourself. This stubborn "doesn't matter" response smacks of tightly held belief, what a coincidence that such a belief would be very comforting for you! It's escapism. You don't want to face reality because it's painful, so you build up a narrative in your head that's easier to take. The reality of your …

I would be very surprised if you found many feminists in support of "women and children first". When the Sewol sank in Korea, women were not prioritized. In fact, Park Jee Young, a woman, went down with the ship trying to save as many lives as she could, both boys and girls. Women and children first is a dead practice, and that's a good thing.

Old sperm is still good Not true. At least she loved and was loved, which is better that "living her youth". Wouldn't it be better to settle with someone her own age? there is a difference in what motivates her actions. Except the classic gold digger scenario, and chicks with an older guy fetish.

One of the statistics they use is the Fertility Rate, which is the number of live births per 1,000 women in a given age range (usually 15-49). Only by some measures, according to wikipedia. Anyway, suppose you're right and benevolent sexism comes from evolution. Who cares? So does war, and we try to avoid that too, and it is becoming less and less prevalent as we progress.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/08/14 01:02 AM

I don't think it is, usually. "Men can't be raped" is not considered benevolent sexism. "Women and children first" could be said to mean "men last", that's a good point, but the impulse comes from a desire to protect women, which is benevolent sexism.

It's not! Sexism in society isn't "men's" fault, it's not women's fault, it's no one's fault, thinking that way just leads to hate. Sexism is just a problem we need to fix, together.

Well, the majority group anyway. White people face plenty of racism in countries where they are not the majority, including about intelligence. It's more about jingoism. Either way it's a perception thing, all of these examples are obviously racist against all groups, and ignorant too, considering black/white/Asian isn't even an accurate model of race.

Can does not automatically mean will. Lets say 3 children are going to be born in 3 years. This is possible both with one woman and three men or three men and one woman. Given that women pretty much never give birth at the maximum frequency they can, the technical possibilities of potential birthrates are largely irrelevant. Edit: typo

If you have 1 woman and 100 men, you've got one kid a year. If you have 100 women and 1 man, you have 100 kids a year. In those extreme circumstances sure, but in reality people, men and women, have roughly the same amount of children, 2.5.

About 115,000 Americans died in WW1. In 1914, the US population was something like 100,000,000. If half of those who died in WW1 were women instead of men, I doubt that would have even registered on our population statistics.

I don't know about "proof" of the "patriarchy", but feminists certainly do talk about benevolent sexism, how it is problematic and condescending, and how the men being considered disposable can be largely blamed on it. With 7.5 billion people in this world there's as much death and suffering as you could ever care to find, and the media usually only reports the stuff that tugs on the viewers heartstrings, which is often women because of benevolent sexism.

I think "betadom" is a pretty stupid concept, but I don't think supplication suggests merely "asking for something". Well, I have a good fashion sense and I make sure I'm looking and smelling fresh, and I have sex about as much as I want with women I consider attractive, so I'm not really sure I should change anything. Could I sleep with more significantly younger women if I tried really hard? Maybe, but I actually do prefer women my own age and it doesn't seem worth it anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/14 10:56 PM
2

Maybe because you, personally, have experienced a transformation that has allowed you to sleep with more women in general, like approaching more or developing a bigger social network or handling rejection better. I had that transformation at about 22, and from then to now I have steadily been rejected more and more for being too old, and I'm certainly approached less by younger women. That's ok though, I prefer women my own age.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/14 09:41 PM

It isn't even a little unusual, it's very much the norm.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/14 05:37 PM

Women typically marry a man that is older than them. This means that it is unusual for a woman to date a guy younger our even the same age albeit less so. You're overstating it a bit. Yes women lean more that way, but marrying someone around your age is the norm.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/14 05:21 PM

Being happy will help you get laid I 100% agree, but I don't think it's the most important quality for attraction. Looks are, obv, and sometimes you are just too old, especially if you're going for significantly younger women.

Hey man, virgin is just a word, and you're never too young to get started. Forget all this pill shit, I want to talk to you about this situation. First, what do you want out of life right now, romantically? A fulfilling, committed relationship or some casual sex?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/14 01:13 AM

Well, yes, many men do have that problem, I was one of them. But TRP has a whole lot more to it than breaking men out of their shells.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/14 03:50 AM
2

"putting yourself in the right positions and scenarios and going for it" a behavior? Isn't the decision to do those things an attitude? What I mean by behavior and attitude is how you come off to people, how you talk, what you say. That kind of stuff. Aren't confidence and forwardness - what you're advocating here- things that TRP talks about? Yes, but it's hardly the only thing they talk about.

/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/14 01:27 AM
2

Maybe it's just this view I have of women that's been shaped by society of how many unfaithful wives there are. Even though men cheat more? At any rate, you may be the most level headed guy in the world, but TRP is very, very good at indoctrination, and the things it says are very attractive to people who have had problems with women, as you seem to have.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/14 01:10 AM
3

You say that, and yet at the beginning of your comment you were ready to agree with an outrageous, unfounded prejudice, one which is drilled into your head again and again and again in TRP, with "examples" and "evidence" cherry picked for your convenience every day. Repeat after me, all women are like that, all women are like that, all women are like that...

it seemed to me that the game tactics that I was looking into pretty much just focused on playing into girls' psychological tendencies. Their presumed, often inaccurate psychological tendencies. Without any knowledge beforehand, it's easy to fail in sexual pursuits. It's easy to make girls feel weird or awkward. Sadly, you really can't just "be yourself." Well if I wanted to paint a narrative I could say one has to do with men holding the majority of power in the world and women being basically slaves in some parts of it, and the other is men boohooing about having to take care of their kids. I don't actually feel that way though, there are plenty of legitimate and important and not so legitimate and important issues for both genders, but you get my point.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/14 12:08 AM

What an odd fantasy you've shared with us. That being said, "sexual strategy" being amoral doesn't give you or anyone else a free ticket to be immoral just because you are employing it. If you choose to be immoral, hey whatever, but people will correctly judge you. Particle physics is amoral and that doesn't mean physicists get to be assholes.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/14 12:05 AM

I think the researcher is overstating her findings a bit, and the HuffPo article, as is the nature of journalism, overstates them quite a bit. I look at the top posts of /r/LadyBoners and I see plenty of smiling faces.

If "game" were so evil, why would it work so effectively? Does it? I'm glad to hear you've decided to make a lifestyle choice to go after what you want and to try and have more sexual and romantic success, and if TRP was the catalyst of that decision, hey that's still great! But try not to fall too deep into the rabbit hole. TRP and PUA suggest a lot of fairly specific things that they call "game", and it's easy to get lost in the jumble. At the same time, they have a lot of political content on…

I think you can do everything in the first list and fall under TRP's idea of alpha without being anything on the second list. Huh. Most of TRPs advice seems to me to be specific behavior suggestions, like the "amused mastery" sidebar post, and field reports about how these behavior patterns lead to success, or trying to emulate a "dark triad"mindset through behavior. Aloofness, especially, is hammered in over there.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/14 11:35 PM

Not in my opinion. And I don't look at sexy pictures and say "huh, I bet she's really easy to approach!" I am typically thinking of other things.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/14 11:15 PM

Women are fucked up. And I'm just saying the context of the study is important. Men who smile in social situations are also more attractive and approachable, and when it comes to just pictures, this woman isn't smiling and she's attractive, maybe more so because of it, at least in this picture.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/14 11:10 PM

How many people do you know that straight up "don't smile"? I honestly can't say I've ever met one.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/14 10:58 PM

I find it odd that the ones who are quickest to dismiss the problems women face and say, basically, "quit yer bitchin", are the same ones who complain 24/7 about the bad shake men get in this world.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/14 10:57 PM

I'm not even sure about that. I mean, what makes a person boring? I know guys who are nicer than me, who just radiate positivity and chillness and friendliness, and they seem to do just fine. They don't seem boring.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/14 09:57 PM

And you still aren't competing with assholes that don't spend anything and still fuck her. I just told you I am. I'm not an asshole, but I "don't spend anything and still fuck her" all the time. I could do exclusively that, but I actually like dates, and they aren't that expensive. It's just getting some grub and going and doing something, I do that with my friends too.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/14 09:35 PM
4

I don't know about you, but when i look at pictures of women, i find the ones that smile more physically attractive It can go either way. I definitely don't mind a smoldering stare in lieu of a smile. And in person, the ones that smile seem more approachable than ones that have a 'dark brooding' personality. I can definitely agree with this, I just think the same applies to women's perception of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/14 09:28 PM

And the "Nice Guys" always think they're in the latter category, not the former. This is so true. In my youth, before I worked on becoming more attractive, social, and outgoing, I was the picture of a cynical, misanthropic, bitter neckbeard, and I had the thought daily "why don't women go for nice guys like me?" It's a comfortable delusion.

Looking through it now. Edit: I read the smiling/brooding pictures study, and I'm not convinced. Looking at pictures works a lot differently than interacting with a person face to face. Can you imagine someone constantly trying to do a "sexy face"? It would be like something out of Zoolander. But it works for a picture. I think that study is a lot of conjecture and not a lot of data too. Edit 2: I read the one on "dark triad" being correlated to physical attractiveness. The dark triad score was …

That's often not how the human mind works, we can easily be compelled to continue reading past what we are comfortable with, and those with emotional trauma can definitely be affected in really bad ways. Is it so harmful to give folks a little warning?

He didn't even coin dread game, IIRC. I believe he did, but w/e. Elaborate how. Ok, even in the most mild case of dread game, and I think you're being very generous assuming a majority of red pillers are practicing such mild dread; but even then it still constitutes emotional abuse. You are instilling dread, a terrible, harmful emotion, on purpose and for selfish gain. Exactly. In fact, I think it's a rather flawed model because sex can be and often is simply a free good time between two people. What's economic about that? Nothing was payed, nothing really was gained, it was just fun. Is there a chill out and play video games marketplace? Sometimes people just like to get together and have a good time.

I really don't think it is. I see red pillers show up to defend their position in TBP all the time, and most of the time we just think it's funny. I rarely see them banned for just that. On the other hand, I've seen quite a few "on the fence" and even red pill people mention that they were banned for "concern trolling" i.e. disagreeing with one of the dozens or so pieces of red pill dogma.

I would argue that TRP is not an academic philosophy, but instead an ideology. Philosophy lacks advocacy, only attempting to describe the universe as is. Philosophy is sought for love of wisdom, ideology is adopted to change something. However, many TRPers deny that TRP is ideological, and that it is only a collection of advice for men, and it is to them that I pose this qu…

BP and in total agreement with EFS: there are plenty of "hot" promiscuous women looking to get laid, and "willing" to sleep with someone less traditionally attractive imo. We all know that when a woman says she feels "gross" it really means "it would be gross if you stuck your dick inside me because I'm not attracted to you right now". It doesn't have to be intentional to be emotionally damaging. And just because it's damaging doesn't make it abuse. If someone accidentally drops a heavy object on their SO's foot, is that physical abuse?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/14 10:59 PM
11

What if I told you withholding sex is emotionally abusive. It can be, but I don't think it is here. Withholding sex maliciously, to deliberately wound your SO, is emotional abuse, but withholding it simply because you don't want to have it isn't. It's time to have a serious conversation and compromise, sure, but it isn't abuse. Intent matters.

TRP insists that men work on themselves and improve all aspects of their life with regards to physique, status, wealth, etc. so that we can prey upon insecure women? If that was all there was to TRP, none of us would be here. If a woman is insecure, wouldn't it be easier to approach her and just use the pickup techniques found in /r/seduction[1] than to actually concern oneself with self-improvement? I would say TRP and PUA intersect significantly. Wouldn't you?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/14 02:11 AM
1

Er, I'm not so sure. The idea behind plate theory is plainly that it increases attraction by presenting yourself as a high value man who can get women, not that dating around is prudent. I don't think you're being entirely honest here.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/14 01:25 AM

The BP subreddit has always delineated that the women that RP subscribers describe in their topics are trashy women. We don't say that. We speculate that the women RP works on are insecure, not trashy, and we sympathize with them, not denigrate them.

/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/14 12:25 AM

Sure, that happens sometimes. Mostly at parties. Honestly, that strategy is more conducive to ONSs though, and I like to make recurring partners for the most part these days. I don't think I've lowered my standards. Sure, I'm very easy and honestly if you're hygienic and ask, I'll probably put out, but the women I approach are always the ones I'm most attracted to. This is all totally reasonable and I'm really glad you found out how to be happy. If TRP was the catalyst of that change, well then good on it. There is no binary. Like much "us vs. them" thought, TRP has set up a mental narrative of two sides in a war. Really, when it comes to attraction, dating, and sex, there are all kinds of folks with all kinds of behaviors and types, the male population can't reasonably be thought of in terms of "alpha" or "beta" in any useful way, unless it's simply a convoluted mental trick to compel yourself to actually talk to women.

I think it's a cultural thing. If a man was seen reading some trashy smut book that was actually targeted at men, he'd get a lot of funny looks; women for some reason get a pass on this. Similarly, if a woman was as open about porn in conversation as men can be, she'd get funny looks too. I think we're probably all a little closer together when it comes to erotic media than the social rules would indicate.

Please. Saying you're an egalitarian takes zero balls, it's the default position and is indeed mine. Egalitarianism in lieu of feminism is, however, the latest fashion.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/14 02:36 AM

My point is that if even anti-feminists largely find TRP too misogynistic for their taste, it is unlikely that you'll find a feminist who is ok with TRP.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/14 02:34 AM

I've rejected a woman before that I was very attracted to because she was shitty to a friend. I'm confident I could resist any and every woman out there if I were in an exclusive relationship (even though exclusivity isn't really my thing lol). It may be a bit easier for me though. It sounds weird but as much as I like sex my sex drive is not actually super high lol. I am an enigma wrapped in a riddle.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/14 11:27 PM

Reddit has a decidedly anti-feminist bent, and also is largely not ok with TRP so I don't know about that lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/14 11:21 PM
-2

I don't see how. When was the last time "egalitarianism" changed anything? Protested anything? Organized anything? That's why I like MR better than egalitarianism to "balance" things: egalitarianism is, so far, just lip service. I want an active movement.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/14 11:20 PM
4

Oh please. You can't possibly think one night of sex is indicative of any life long dynamic.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/14 11:04 PM
4

I just went and looked, and it appears TRP took the link to that specific article off the sidebar. Good for them I suppose, but it was there and I simply did not know it wasn't any more. My mistake, but that is likely the reason it is and was talked about so much.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/14 11:03 PM

Male feminist here: no one has told me any of those things and if they did I'd tell them to go fuck themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/14 10:52 PM
7

Oy, everyone here knows what it is and what I'm talking about. Everyone's read that stupid shitty article, and everyone on TRP is "supposed" to have read it. I'm not trying to mislead anyone. The fact remains that a tacit endorsement of cheating is directly linked in the heralded and required to read TRP sidebar.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/14 04:33 AM
1

The fact that submissive men in BDSM usually do not get what they want is TRP. Like hell we don't! We are a rare commodity lol, most men are uncomfortable subbing for real.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/14 02:59 AM
1

If you're feeling nice, this is a great time to say things like "I'm proud of you, little one." Her face will light up like a sunrise hahah ...why does that seem so hot to me right now? I think I'm gonna try reconnecting with an old sub buddy lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/14 02:58 AM
5

Well on that we can definitely agree lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 11:49 PM

I never said sex isn't important in marriage (for both parties), but to say that men will tolerate anything to get anal is pretty boneheaded.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 11:46 PM

It links to that specific article, in order to demonstrate what dread game is. Remains to be seen. Yes, I'm sure this turn out swimmingly and won't be dysfunctional and hideous at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 11:44 PM
6

This honestly reads like a troll. Perhaps those are your prerogatives, but to everyone else that seems like a profoundly shallow caricature of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 11:27 PM
1

I didn't downvote you, and just to prove it I'll downvote you now so you can see the additional downvote. It shouldn't bother you, as internet points don't matter. At any rate, you were clearly being hostile several comments before /u/la_sabotage was.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 11:25 PM
5

But this is a total false flag because he contradicts himself saying he's TRP 1-2 months, but then says he was able to get his wife to do anal months before. When your wife after 15 years starts giving up anal and swallowing, most men would be ecstatic - I'm talking off the charts thrilled. That is a very dismal view of men. Men can still be unhappy in a marriage even with good sex (not that anal and swallowing even automatically make the sex good).
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 10:46 PM
7

TRP's sidebar =/= TRP? Then why do you hear "read the sidebar" so often over there? And it worked. Supposedly, and no it didn't anyway. Heartiste guaranteed you'd have a love slave for life. One night of good sex in an ending marriage is hardly that.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 10:20 PM

Doesn't matter, it was upvoted.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 10:18 PM

He actually doesn't do what TRP proscribes (see my comment on him) since he made it clear he cheated. Yes he did. His title is literally a reference to Heartiste's "thermonuclear option" in /r/TheRedPill's sidebar.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 10:13 PM

And dear God, why is your first reaction hostility? Maybe because what she was reacting to was hostility?

I never derided them, and I never "harshly dismissed" them; I merely mentioned that the rules don't change for them. Well, maybe I misunderstood what you were saying, I interpreted it as "these guys are outliers, and we aren't interested in their problems", but now that I look more closely, it seems you are saying TRP actually does address their concerns? That "the rules" don't change for them? I gotta say, asexual people definitely have to play by a different set of rules at least lol. Anyway, …
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 09:03 PM

The OP putting "ethical" in the question puzzled me. Why would that matter? Because outside of TRP we actually do talk about what's right and wrong, and we will continue to do so despite what TRP thinks about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 08:44 PM
1

Oy, I'm not trying to trap you in a "gotcha" moment, I'm just trying to make a point. You deride "asexual, trans, bdsm, foot fetishers, furries, and whatever the hell other things people are" as being irrelevant to RPW, that you guys deal with "normal" people. Well, to put it indelicately, you aren't normal people. I honestly don't know why RPW so harshly dismisses anybody they consider "weird", being as how they're pretty weird themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 08:33 PM
1

Yep, me too. Keep it spicy and interesting, change things up once in a while! That's how you keep the magic.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 08:17 PM

I thought TRP was for guys who aren't "naturals".
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 08:16 PM

So... TRP and RPW don't mainly deal with the big bump in the bell curve?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 08:11 PM
5

I'm not outraged. Clearly it's a fucked up situation (if it's true) and OP is not exactly being articulate, clear and up front about the details, so whatever. I think it's odd that he's trying to do good by his wife by protecting her financially (although I don't understand at all how that makes sense) yet he's willing to put her in this fucked up situation. I'm really more interested in the red pill reaction. Comments like this; that's TRP to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 08:08 PM

Am I? My argument is simply that RPWs are, indeed, outliers. Edit:typo

As other have said in that thread, there's no such thing as "allowing" another to divorce; he's just chosen not to, perhaps because she has said she doesn't want to. So it's a null argument. He could divorce at any time. I have swallowed the Red Pill and I have realized that having affairs is not a way to cope with a bad marriage, even one where I love loved my wife. And yet, here he is getting upvoted with the story "cheating has been totally awesome and worked out perfectly. But I aint saying …

Lol no, we don't "all share", but non-exclusivity is often a big part of fetish culture (check out /r/Cuckold for just one example). /u/thebellmaker seems to be into pet play, and letting others "use" his pet will make him/her feel degraded and objectified, which is hot, and will make /u/thebellmaker feel like a callous, disinterested, and cruel master, which is also hot.

Welllll, I can kind of see where both those people are coming from (incidentally, I am a poly dude who's into BDSM, so I might have a bit of a biased standpoint lol). I've seen on a few red pill blogs advice encouraging men to basically engage in super rough sex and ravishment play, but nothing about communication and safety protocols you would find in most mainstream BDSM blogs, which gives me and other BDSM folks pause. The attitude sometimes seems like "she wants it, just give it to her" whic…

I meant the RPW version of an ideal relationship. Sorry. Lol whew! I don't have a single problem with people who use red pill as a way of exploring their personal tastes, but as son as I here red pillers get political with it, or prescribe their proclivities as the universal ideal, I got beef lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/14 05:11 PM

the ideal relationship does mirror that encouraged in the bible. Now waitaminute, you told me earlier that you acknowledged that a traditional relationship was best for you, but not necessarily the ideal.

I can't get behind such stark individualism. Had Turing been born in 10,000 B.C. he would have been a caveman like the rest of us. As Hawking said, he stood on the shoulders of giants (not to discredit his genius of course). Humans are a communal animal.

Do you think it would be fair to say that if your husband never got involved in the manosphere, you wouldn't have either and things would not be much different (i.e. you would both be happy and in a mostly traditional relationship)?

I do. We have made such extraordinary strides in the last hundred years, and things are progressing in every area exponentially (as in, more and more rapidly). Two hobbyist brothers from Ohio made a rudimentary flying machine, and 60 years later we were walking on the moon. War, suffering, disease, hunger, tyranny; it has all been rapidly decreasing. And yes, bigotry is down and tolerance is up, and that includes the oppression of women. We are better than ever and things seem to be going toward…

Lol, so provincial. Humans have not been doing science seriously for a long enough time to make that assertion. We stand on the chronological threshold of civilization, Greece started to think about these things a mere 6,000 years ago. Who's to say what gender out-accomplishes the other in, say, 100,000 years.

It's a cliche I know, but Carl Sagan. I'm not sure if he ever addressed gender in a political way, and that about reflects how important all this pill stuff is to me (i.e. it isn't). I do remember in Cosmos him talking about Hypatia of Alexandria, who was a martyr for science and a woman, and that was very evocative and her character seems out of sorts with what TRP asserts about women, but that's about it. Edit: Scratch that. There was a person who influenced me in a material way as much if not…

I know, I know, it's not a big thing. It's just something I saw 4 or 5 times and it kept on rattling around in my head. I wish I would have saved them, I don't know how to find them now. Maybe I should just delete this thread, A better one popped into my head anyway. This might be better to address in a comment reply next time I see it.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/14 01:30 AM
1

That was just a hypothetical example, I don't know if anyone ever actually said that specifically. What I'm trying to address is "hawwt", specifically. It's not "hot". It's "hawwt". It's clearly making fun of women for the crime of, what, finding some men attractive? I can't wrap my head around it.

To be fair, the same advice is given to men in cheesy pop-advice columns (can't turn a ho into a housewife, a bloo bloo bloo). Date sluts and marry nice girls is advice that is explicitly given in TRP all the time, and it's definitely not just found there, so it's a little hypocritical that they're mad women get the same advice. Actually, now that I said that, I want to make a thread along the lines of "don't TRPers engage in alpha fucks, beta bucks too?"

Can I infer from your comment that you see nothing wrong with the examples I listed from the very same article? Well, no, I think it's horrible relationship advice and will sow suffering, I'm just not sure if it would qualify as emotional abuse necessarily. you harshly declare it as neglect which makes me wonder if an adult partner can ever be dependent enough to warrant said term used as in neglecting a child, i.e. someone who is without question dependent on you emotionally. Not at all. Neglec…

I found out about TRP, and by extension this place, because I used to frequent /r/AskMen and that sub started to get more and more RPers there. I ended up and stayed here because my life is pretty much free of any kind of drama or arguing, so I get to express it here. If there was a sub to bicker with SRSers, I would probably do that too.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/14 06:22 AM

This is a flat out non-truth. I see thoughtful discourse here all the time. I mean, I don't usually, because I don't take TRP seriously, but other people do!

Well, I think you deliberately cherry picked and left out context from that article. Let's examine it a bit further. Cook her a romantic candlelight dinner at home. Make it a memorable experience, complete with jazz, chocolate, and rose petals. Then, do not talk with her for four days afterwards. This is emotional neglect specifically designed to prey on insecurity. I would qualify that as emotional abuse, as it is purely designed to harm your partner into submission. Ignore her calls for a week…

Your edit is ridiculous. It has been noted, no doxxing was allowed to take place, the blue pill mods squashed it before any doxxing took place. As far as we know, no doxxing was even considered. Well, yes, historically, but the modern day understanding of chivalry is following certain social expectations about the treatment of women, or going out of your way for them. Btw, women aren't weak.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/14 11:39 PM
2

just look at the fact that women think 80% of men are less attractive than average This is hardly a "fact". The only "fact" one can extrapolate from that survey is that on average the women surveyed on OkCupid found 80% of the supposedly random selection of men below average. It's a single data point in a specific context, it doesn't demonstrate jack shit.

So chivalry (benevolent sexism) is not dead.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/14 11:27 PM

Why not? So, you seem to be under the impression that there is no such thing as emotional abuse. I think it's probably simply a semantic argument, but what word would you use for things like gaslighting, deliberate belittlement, and isolation?

Would this invalidate the idea that the personality differences between people of each gender is completely down to sexual dimorphism? IMO, that idea is already completely invalid. I think the differences between individuals far outweigh the personality trend differences between men and women in general.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/14 09:36 PM

Well... I agree with that, actually. I think the cultural pressures men face when it comes to rape is highly destructive. But both of those things are founded in sexist gender expectations, it's impossible to discuss them without discussing sexism.

It begs the question of why exactly is there such a disparity between women in leadership? We could presuppose that there is an underlying conspiracy (har har Patriarchy) that actively discourages them from doing those things. Do you think bias against fathers, dismissal of sexual violence against male prisoners, and pedophile hysteria are not "problems" that need to be "fixed"?

White genocide is the end product of the social justice movement. Just look at tumblr, "kill all whites", "if you're white die". That's why we need to keep the status quo, else we risk one or another race being exterminated. So because edgy teenagers on the internet write inflammatory things, 2 billion people, scattered all across the globe, are going to be wiped out? Of course I don't feel guilty. Well you are an utter hypocrite then. A white person will be chosen over an Asian person with the …

I don't see why any of this is a "conspiracy" - the cultural Marxists wrote about it and published their works. It's all in the public record. Well, the Nazis wrote about establishing a "Neuordnung" (New World Order), but that shit didn't happen. Doesn't stop conspiracy nutters from believing it, though.

You don't "need" the civil rights movement for the "tiny little issue" of workplace discrimination, but the ACLU still carries that banner. Things change, and so do movements.

Guess what, it's not safe or wise for anyone, male or female, to walk around in dangerous areas alone at night or to get blackout drunk around unfamiliar people. It is much more safe for me, as a man, to do those things. Also, while feeling unsafe as a woman in this world is definitely shitty, and in the spotlight because of the #yesallwomen thing, it isn't a major feminist fight. Feminists don't aspire to end danger itself, it's more of an awareness thing. They're saying "look dude, I get grope…

In that case, is men's rights needed? There's always room for improvement. Here are some ways that I think women get shafted in much of the first world: Disparity of women in leadership positions Double standard concerning promiscuity How rape is handled in the military How women are treated in the corporate world (where a big part of "wage gap" statistics come from) How assertive, confident women are considered, socially (they're considered bitches most of the time) Women are still not mandated…

What do you want out of life? A healthy relationship? If so, I would recommend online dating. Meeting people doesn't have to be "organic" in today's world, online dating get's a bad rap I think. I know 3 married couples who met online and they couldn't be happier. Just go on dates until you find someone you really like being around, and then go on more dates with her and see what happens. Don't worry about shit tests, or game, or displays of value. There's no such thing as "taking the blue pill"…

I don't know why you don't seem to understand that TRP doesn't view "dread game" as abusive. Doesn't matter how they view it, this is abuse.

Gotcha. Honestly, and this is not a personal shot at you, but the whole "spinning plates" metaphor just grinds me. Like, dating around is not that difficult, but TRP makes it out to be this incredible, delicate feat that could come crashing down if not handled properly. The only time it would be like that is if you were being deceptive with people.

I just got pregnant and I'm more focused on preparing for motherhood at the moment. Mazel tov! :D I agree with all the rest of the stuff you said, you seem pretty alright FM :) coming back to if there's a sub for German culture abroad, maybe you could ask /r/de if there are any.

Then you're definitely barking up the wrong tree with Stormfront lol, they are literally the most notorious hate site on the internet. I don't think German heritage is in danger of disappearing anytime soon lol, but I can definitely understand wanting to connect with it here in America (amusingly, this type of motherland connection is often lambasted by racists in America as "failing to integrate"). People don't insult people to their face often, no, but that's not all there is to slut shaming. My brother-in-law prattles on about how all his female cousins are whores, and told me the worst thing that could ever happen to him is if his daughter turned out like that. Here's the thing about "white culture": there really is no one, unifying culture that all white people share. Frankly, the same applies to "black" and "Asian" culture too (although, anthropologically, the "3 big races" model is considered outdated). There are many cultures that are primarily shared by white people, but no real "white culture". This puts some white Americans out of sorts because it very much seems that minorities in America do have a particular culture of their own, but white peo…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/14 12:26 AM

Probably so, but there are a lot of /r/WhiteRights posters in TRP, that doesn't mean TRP has a racist vibe in general. Sure the occasional racism slips through in TRP and the occasional crybabying slips through in TBP, but non-racists can clearly enjoy TRP and I can enjoy TBP.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/14 02:24 AM
7

Nah, TBP doesn't have that tumblrina, SRS vibe. I laugh at SJWs too, and I fuckin love TBP. Plus, I'm a feminist, feminists are not ubiquitously cringey all the time like TRPers seem to be with few exceptions. There is literally content for TBP every day from just one subreddit! TiA has to scour multiple websites to find the goods.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/14 02:19 AM
7

Sorry, but TRP is often featured on both /r/TumblrInAction and /r/cringepics. It is dumb, easy to make fun of, and hilarious. Most TBP content isn't self-posts like that, it's normally literally a link to some TRP content that boils down to "look at this shit. Just... look at it."
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/14 02:10 AM
8

I don't care if more people become aware of TRP. I'm not the thought police, people can make up their own minds about it. IMO TBP doesn't have a massive "anti-TRP campaign", at least not in the way you mean it. We just make fun of it, because most of the people in that sub are easy to make fun of, and most TRP content is stupid, and once again, easy to make fun of. Frankly, I hope TRP keeps growing, because it's a never-ending source of entertainment for me. Edit: grammar

Interesting! Though, one could argue that our willingness and occasional desire to partake in psychedelic drugs must be able to be traced back to a basic biological imperative too.

It's funny how the innocuous seeds of biological imperative have lead to such sophistication. From basic survival instincts have come art, philosophy, science, music, and indeed love. A person's 'quality' assessment is in no way related to their level of ambition, career, self-reliance, even mental or physical health. Masculinity is having to do with the cultural trappings of men. Well, as someone experienced with casual sex, I can tell you that it usually isn't "rejection" that ends a hookup. Sometimes circumstances change, someone gets busy, someone moves, someone gets in a relationship. Sometimes it's broken off because one or both people start to catch feelings but they aren't in a good place for a committed relationship right now in their life. I really do believe many(not all though) men are just conditioned to override or disregard this feeling or have no opportunity to compare the difference. When did TBP ever say it was especially open minded? Call us judgmental, that's fair, but I don't think we're hypocrites lol.

Be attractive. If you aren't attractive, you are going to have a much, much harder time getting laid especially casually and especially if you're a man. I agree to an extent, but I don't think "raw" looks, or even taking care of yourself, are the most important things. You can look like a million bucks and you still won't get very far if you don't try. You gotta get out there and make hookups happen. Ask for numbers, flirt, meet people. You have to be proactive with this. So yes, groom yourself,…

There were like, two or three "asshole" jocks at my school. Just because you're into athletics does not mean you are a douche. As a matter of fact, I can recall more nerdy kids being huge dicks than the jocks were. Who was having the most sex? Like others have said: the band.

I'm not sure Stewart is really mocking them for being emotional so much as he's mocking the hypocrisy of the right wing media.

If I am being 100% brutally honest my life is pretty much just me finding new ways to distract myself from the allure of suicide. How are you holding up?

I found a gorgeous 21 year old that wanted a family. So you lead her on? Am I interpreting that correctly? If so, that's pretty shitty, dude.

Good for you, man. I've said it before, I don't begrudge anyone who's grateful to TRP for improving their lives. I wholeheartedly disagree with their opinions on women, among other things, but I'm honestly happy for anybody who happens to learn to put themselves out there, take women off the pedestal, and go for what they want through TRP. That isn't to say I won't argue against their "philosophy" until the cows come home, but I'm glad things are going good for you.

No problem :) Maybe my experiences were different because I was such a forever alone neckbeard in my youth that no one even bothered to give me dating advice lol. Once I figured it all out though, hooking up didn't really seem like the stuff I see in TRP though. To each their own I suppose.

When people ask for dating advice this is often repeated to men as an effective way to attract women. I just don't think that's so.

I'm not saying that because he's an outlier. I'm saying it because his circumstance doesn't demonstrate anything about age.

Here's the thing: you are conflating two separate issues. People say you should be kind and respectful, you shouldn't push boundaries, you should treat women like people, yes. Nobody is told that those things will get you laid. Those are just things you should do anyway, because that's what being a good person is. Another part of being a good person is not expecting to be rewarded for being decent. None of this has anything to do with being laid, except when Nice Guys™ whine that being decent di…

six figures salary Around 6% of people make 100k plus. If you really want to tell me it's difficult for a 30-35 year old to date/hook up with 21-28 year olds - go ahead. Frankly, it isn't difficult to hook up or date at all, for men or women. You people think you're being some sort of "White knights" helping women but you're really hurting young women. Which seems to be the point, primarily. Eh? Where am I white knighting? Lol this seems like a complete non-sequitur. Remember, for all of the rag…

Hmm. I suppose I have many motivations, although ironically I have general trouble with motivation at all lol. I really have to kick myself in the ass to get anything accomplished. I am motivated by edification, which is why I am going to school for something that is intellectually satisfying, if not remarkably pragmatic lol. I am motivated by happiness, fun, and pleasure, in myself and others, which is why I'm such a slut and why I love parties and lots of friends. Hmm. Lol that's all I can thi…

Well than is it not justice that a woman who wastes her most fertile years being a party slut mess up her chances to find an attractive man later in life? You are engaging in the revenge fantasy right now! How can your cognitive dissonance not be bothering you? You asked why we care about looks so much, as if men are wrong to be attracted to young fertile women. No I fucking didn't. Now you're going to tell me that a 35 year old woman has the same SMV (or higher LMAO) as her 18 year old self? Ag…

You are being dense because that view point only gets spouted off by newbies and BPers who don't know what they're talking about. Seems pretty "no true scotsman" to me. I can only see what is written and upvoted on TRP, this whole passing the buck of every sketchy thing on TRP as being "the newbies" is pretty dishonest, imo. The majority of RPers read more than they post, take bits & pieces of advice with a grain of salt and apply it how they see fit in their life. How could you possibly know th…

I don't see how that is a revenge fantasy, nobody "wants" her to be unhappy? Because you prefaced that statement with a hypothetical about a 28 year old woman who cheated on her husband. It wasn't that much of a leap to infer you were talking about the same woman. Why are you being so dense for no reason? I could say the same. You really don't see the "post-wall slut getting theirs" rhetoric all over TRP? That, in my opinion, is willfully ignorant. You really think a divorced 28 year old woman w…

Sorry, forgot the link. It's from Melanie McDonagh, writing for the Spectator in this article: http://www.spectator.co.uk/features/6391918/whos-the-daddy/[1] What a fucking nutter. That's my feminist viewpoint.

I mean, I've done the dishes countless times - but I don't feel the need to explain how I'm so much more "well adjusted" than others because I did the dishes, nor did I think I was some brave warrior fighting gender roles. Oh for fuck sake, neither does /u/SkyNinja7. He's obviously just responding to OP, I doubt he thinks about this at all ever.

However, this attitude is standing in the way: "DNA tests are an anti-feminist appliance of science, a change in the balance of power between the sexes that we’ve hardly come to terms with." I haven't ever seen this opinion expressed. I'm not saying it hasn't, but I would be very interested in a link demonstrating that attitude by feminists.

Why are children so sacrosanct in this culture? Children are considered sacrosanct in every culture. For someone who buys so much into biological imperatives, it's surprising that you deny perhaps the biggest one. Protecting children has always been a major moral imperative, one of the universal three, actually.

On the other hand, a divorced 28 year old woman will go back in the dating market and quickly realize that men around her age are actively chasing after younger women. That is a revenge fantasy. Also, this idea that 30+ men are more attractive than men in their 20s, and that a 10 year plus age difference in hookup and dating is common is pure wishful thinking.

Nobody thinks sexism is good. Not even The Red Pill. Wellll... certain red pillers in this sub have expressed that they are openly sexist and argue that it's a good thing, so... If they want to have a successful and pleasant interactions with women, be them sexual, professional, or just casual. I try to behave similarly to men and women casually (not sexually though, obviously), but I don't think it's a major sin not to. Erectile Dysfunction is not a disease. It is a dysfunction, i.e. something is not functioning, in this case the ability to get or mantain an erection. it can have many causes. ED is a natural byproduct of aging in general, as the cardiovascular system breaks down. Early ED can be caused by smoking or drugs, as those also affect the cardiovascular system, or it can be caused by certain diseases and disorders. Lastly it can be caused by psychological issues. These can range from stress to depressi…

I made this decision and suffered absolutely zero consequences as a result. This thought can be applied to many things. "I stole and suffered zero consequences" "I threw a colleague under the bus to save my own ass and suffered zero consequences". That's moral nihilism, or perhaps it's more akin to ethical egoism. You said earlier that "morality is the herd instinct of the masses." I think that's very interesting. What are your thoughts on the big moral prohibitions, like murder? Would you feel …

No one's suggesting they're not. At least I'm not. Clearly what that woman did was immoral and reprehensible, and the bulk of responsibility, perhaps even all the responsibility, obviously lies on her shoulders. But we aren't talking to her. You, also, have agency, and made the decision to sleep with a married person. You've said some things in this thread that make you seem like a moral nihilist, a hedonist, and perhaps somewhat sociopathic. I'm not trying to be insulting, I'm just interested i…

I don't really know... most of the time it's just my personality with naughty jokes and comments and eye contact lol. I'm often, like, sarcastically self-depreciating I guess. Like, "yeah I'm making fun of myself, but really I like myself" I ask a lot of questions, I like to get the other person going and react to them, that way I can get a vibe from them. I tend to move pretty fast too, so my "move", such as it is, is usually just blurting out "wanna make out?" at an opportune moment if she see…

Ok, so the "strategy" part of my hookup life has more to do with creating circumstances and and opportunities where a hook up might happen, and not a lot to do with specific interpersonal communication, which seems to be the opposite of TRP's advice priorities. I try and cultivate a very broad but shallow social circle by going to parties and meeting friends of friends. In addition, I put it out their that I'm an easy slut so ladies know they'll be barking up the right tree. Other than that I ju…

Two or three a month, a few times with each normally. It can fluctuate quite a bit though. Are you satisfied with your number of partners? Absolutely, I could have more sex with more women if I wanted to. Do you use "sexual strategy"? If you what is it? I suppose you could call it that, but it's pretty uncomplicated.
