Really? I only ever read the first book, (seen all of the movies as of late) and the second I watched her be shitty to Ron on the train in the first movie I knew they'd eventually end up together. They're exactly the types I expect to be together.

Then find one who isn't caught up in "saving herself for the right person." No hot 18 year old virgin is still a virgin for any other reason then that. If sexual appetite is what you want then she sounds like a waste of time to me.

Yep. The only reason he got out when he did was for good behavior. He was told he would be in until he was 21. He didn't tell any of us he was getting out and just showed up at school and surprised us the 1st day of 11th grade. It was surreal, I really didn't think I'd ever get to talk to him past the mail until we were in our 20's.

I'm not really sure exactly how he avoided it, but I've seen him work at various grocery stores around town since it happened. I know they aren't wealthy though, they lived in the neighborhood across the street from mine.

Not very well. Most people I know there are some form of drug addicts, mainly into heroine. It used to be a really nice city but it's ridiculous now.

I used to live in Manassas, live an hour away now and still visit friends there often. From what I understand the community in general is extremely pissed about it and have been blowing up phones, e-mails, the bar association, community leaders, officers involved, etc. Everyone is hoping this eventually gets tossed and they decide to actually work on fixing the other vast amounts of problems in the area. It's a seriously messed up place to live. It's one of those towns where you can literally ge…

RPW, I have a six year old daughter. She does not have a father around, so she looks to my Dad as a father figure. I teach her that because he is Grandma's husband, and her uncle's and auntie's father, he is the man of the house and the boss. What he says goes when she is in his house, and she needs to respect that. She has really taken to this and understands the importance of loving as well as respecting my dad for what he is-the man. I also make it a point to teach my daughter the importance …

When I have a boyfriend, I spend hours getting ready (slutty outfit or not) to look hot for him, not for a bunch of randoms I will never see again. I want him to have a good time, and if I am a part of his outing then me looking hot is a part of making sure that happens. Just fruit for thought, maybe.

It's true. I am a woman, and it is a significant turn on for a man to take a dominant role, especially in the bedroom. It's sexy, it's respectable, and it's something I crave even on a day it may tick me off a little bit.

I am so glad that you decided to post this. When I read it in this longer version you have posted, I just feel like I am reading me. I was in that self loathing sad couple relationship. I did the whole beta dating scene for a long time, it did nothing positive for either of us involved. I want to be in a relationship with someone that literally makes me feel like I hit the lottery, like I finally found someone worth all my effort and motivation towards a healthy love life. After realization that…

This is a very interesting theory I'd have to agree with. I have been in relationships where one of these forms of love was vastly more significant feeling then the other, especially when I was more overweight and depressed. I would deal with idiots or overbearing betas because I figured that was the best I could get. My first major boyfriend in high school, however, was the deepest love I have ever known and our relationship was extremely healthy and blissful for the better part of our time tog…

Perhaps I should rephrase, I believe everyone deserves love that strives for it. I don't believe it should just be dropped on your door step for you, you have to put effort into it. Big girls can most certainly get dolled up, go out, and find the kind of man they want to be with, the kind that enjoys or is accepting of obesity. I want to be with the type of guy that can appreciate the fact that I prefer salads now and would enjoy boasting about how much I can squat. This is the kind of love I wa…

Thank you, I appreciate it. I have tried to explain this to a few friends of mine and they don't get it. They are very "Curves are beautiful (they're fat not curvy, sorry ladies.), everyone at every size deserves love!" I agree everyone deserves love, but I am not going to find the kind of love I want from someone who wants to be with me at an obese size.

Right after my 22 birthday (20 months ago or so?) my cousin and I decided to go on diets together to lose a little weight. We bought a scale and when I got on it and realized I was 210 pounds at only 5'2" I burst out in tears. I knew I was over weight, I didn't realize how big I was. I started to really think about guys I had been with and how I was treated like a dirty little secret, or how I would get comments on my eating habits. I WAS the problem, not the guys I was attracting. Idk if it was…

Exactly! I kind of knew this deep down then, but refused to accept it and make any changes for a long time. I figured eventually someone will come around that will love me for me. There ARE men out there who I am sure would have loved to be with me when I was bigger and who would have tried to make me happy. But you know what? That isn't the kind of man I want. I want a HOT alpha man who loves me for me, but also can appreciate me at my best. I am at my best when I am working out and not eating …

As a woman who was literally used, abused, neglected, rejected, cheated on, and straight up told I would be better thinner, I know it is the truth. Men typically prefer healthy women. This does NOT mean you have to be rail then, but it does mean you are less likely to have negativity in your relationship if you just take care of yourself. Yes, this does sound horrible and negative if you don't put too much thought into it. I thought most men who treated me negatively, cheated on me with smaller …

I don't understand why so many women make the title housewife such a negative thing. It is one of the oldest and most respectful ways of life I can think of for a woman, I would be proud to consider myself one. I would much prefer having the obligations of getting kids to school on time and dinner on the table then trying to juggle those ON TOP of a career. I understand wanting to keep busy and keep up with friends and the like, but that doesn't mean you can't do that as well as keep your house …

If I had a husband that preferred me be a stay at home mom, making my ONLY responsibilities the house and the kids I would say "F my career" in two seconds. I think it is absolutely fair to want a career of your own as a woman, we deserve to earn our keep in the work place as well. Having said that, however, if staying at home is what is best for the kids, then I don't see a problem in doing so. You can always work on a career later. I do find it to be a bit selfish of her to not even consider w…

I believe that many women become set in their ways as they get older, particularly alpha feminist type women as the wife was portrayed in the film. I do, however, believe it can be done. The woman has to have the willingness to back down from the pedestal she has put herself on for it to ever succeed, in my opinion. As someone who is a daughter and grand daughter to this type of woman, the red pill is a hard one to swallow for them after decades of blue.

I absolutely loved Kevin Spacey's transformation in American Beauty. In the beginning he is an over weight middle aged man who does everything his wife and daughter tell him, is completely ignored, and belittled. As the movie progressed and so did he through his "mid life crisis" as the movie is supposed to be portraying, you see an entirely different man. He becomes fit, confident, and an alpha male. This role, in particular, is one that forever made me think Kevin Spacey was sexy, because he t…

Thank you, I absolutely agree! I just laugh as they carry on to argue with their boyfriends/husbands over things as simple as who cleaned what last, who paid for dinner last, etc. Basically just daily pissing contests. I have always grown up with my beliefs that nobody else around me seemed to understand. I am now 23 years old and really coming into my own in understanding exactly what I believe and the type of man I want to be with. Whether or not your friends/family/sorority sisters agree with you and what you find is ideal in a relationship is something I've learned you need to come to terms with just as they need to with you if you decide to share. I don't personally care about anyone's opinion anymore whe…

For the most part, it seems as though we are in agreement. I don't think of my beliefs about relationships in that a man is my "higher power," although it may sound that way to some other people. Yes, it does seem we agree men must be a certain way in order to gain respect. Thanks for your response, it was very interesting and agreeable, for the most part. (:

What about guys who like to talk about their ex's? I'm currently talking to a new guy now. We were talking about size of women, because I just recently lost 50 pounds and am a lot smaller. His ex girl friend weighs over 100 pounds more then me. I am assuming he told me this to reassure me on my attractiveness. Then out of nowhere he attempts to start a "she did this to me, that to me, woe is me" ramble. I quickly changed the subject and it hasn't been brought up since yesterday. Do I try to pull…

Your post is absolutely correct. I prefer the man takes control. I want him to tell me what he wants me to do/what he wants to do to me. I absolutely hate being asked "what do you like." What I like isn't what's important, what's important is what is going to get you off? It basically feels good no matter what position he puts me in, so let's focus on what he really wants. That's just my personal view on sex, though.

I am a single mother, but I don't believe that means the man I marry has to step in as daddy. I don't believe "a good man has to love her like his own." He is not required to be a dad to my daughter just because we are in a relationship. I am her parent. I prefer it that way. I've been doing it without a partner for 6 years now, I don't need someone else to step in now. The only thing I ask is that he acknowledges her existence if we are in a relationship, as she is a human being, and my child. …

This is absolutely true. I used to complain and bitch and moan constantly about my long days at work (5-6 hour shifts at Wal-Mart for a while is a prime example). When your guy worked a 10 hour day in construction, don't try to argue this. You sound especially stupid and you're being a whiny bitch.

Your husband sounds like a very strong and respectable man. You sound like you have learned a lot from your relationship with him and it's great to see other women have the same values as partner as I do.

I don't mean obey in the sense that he will whip me and ground me to my room if I don't sort of thing, we aren't children. Unless that is a couples thing and it works for them, then go for it! For me, I just mean it in a respectful manner. When I say "obey" I mean do as he says. If he says I should cook a certain something after he worked 10 hours, I'd be a real bitch for throwing a frozen pizza in the oven instead. Does that make better sense to you?

Some feminist hear a little dirty talk or roughness is going on in the bedroom and just want to yell abuse, even if the woman wants it. They say the woman is blinded by the abuse, it's silly really. Not all feminist think this way, of course. But there are plenty that do.

He genuinely seems ok with letting her rule the roost. He definitely doesn't seem to be going anywhere, he proclaims his love for his wife and daughter all the time. He is a very sweet man, but you can see the embarrassment in his eyes when she pulls this crap. And she will do it in front of anyone, she doesn't care. She asserts her dominance in the household no matter who is inside of it. I try to excuse myself from the situation as often as possible, as I know I wouldn't want anyone witnessing…

It's disgusting, really. I do believe we deserve equality. We deserve same wages, ability to vote, the ability to think for ourselves and make decisions on our own. Absolutely, there should be equality between the sexes. Equality doesn't mean bashing a man, belittling him, or down right abusing him for the sake of "standing up for yourself." Women have sincerely gotten carried away with the feminist movement, I for one, do not stand along side them. Edit: spelling
