Happy late bday! Mine is this week (32!) and I am spending my day very similarly; dog on my lap and coffee in hand, window open, looking out on a beautiful day filled with possibility. And none of those possibilities involve being let down by a man.

I was a SAHM married a kind generous man. He was ~relatively generous in the divorce when that midlife crisis hit too. I don’t regret a second of the time I spent at home with my child but it was a long time out of the workforce and put me massively behind my peers. I think women should keep up their professional network, hone their skills, take classes and certs while they stay home if that’s what they choose... a plan B should always be ready to go. I got so comfortable in my luxurious life I …

This was me. And when he decided to have a midlife crisis it took him about a week to move me out of the beautiful new home we’d bought a few months prior and the brand new luxury car right into a little apartment and a used Toyota. He pays for my rent and my schooling. I am POWERLESS until I graduate and even now that he has targeted his trophy wife replacement I rely on him financially until I can get on my feet. Ladies, never give up your power.

I feel this! I love my romance novels and am a sucker for romantic movies and songs... have absolutely zero desire to make it happen for me in real life right now.

I used to get so offended when people gave me this advice. So young and naive! They were 100% correct.

Exactly what happened to me. He was a HVM until one day he just... wasn’t. Not for me at least. I’m sure the new girl is getting the same HVM I had at the beginning. I did learn a valuable lesson though; this is my life, my story, and the only person I can trust to make it worth living is myself.

You hit the crux of it; this man is trying to take over his infant daughters place with his kinks and sexual needs, like he cannot stand to have his wife giving something to someone else that he can’t also take. Even if that someone else is his infant child. Vile.

My mom is getting into OLD at 50 and tells me it is near impossible to find a man her age who isn’t actively looking for younger. And she is fantastically beautiful and often mistaken as my sister (I’m 30...). It’s mind boggling.

I’m not looking to date AT all (healing from a divorce after marrying very young) but this sub was randomly suggested to me and I clicked out of curiosity. I immediately felt so validated and seen when I started scrolling through. I think the sub name is misleading. This feels less like a dating sub and more like a place to celebrate, rally, and fight for recognition of our worth as women.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
