The cop who was given the authority to make the decision whether or not to arrest Gabby said he was actually weighing whether it'd be more of a pain in the ass in terms of work and paperwork to charge her or not. When the author drew his conclusions from the data he had collected, he does reinforce that his conclusions are opinion and categorizes them as being plausible or possible, but not definitive. It goes beyond the age of 40 though... This is anecdotal, but you can see it in dating groups on FB. There's a lot of older women who highly value their independence from men. They tend to want relationships but not ever live together with men, maybe they see it as a control thing.
