My divorce was bad but was worse for me was the breakup from the first long relationship post divorce

I got divorced a little over 4 years ago at age 36 with a 2 year old daughter at the time. Initially I thought like you that it would be impossible to start over. I'm on my second committed relationship since my divorce and my gfs have been much better fits while being younger and more attractive. Keep your head up

After my divorce I bought a Vanderhall Venice to have some fun with. I was no longer paying my ex wife's student loan debt for a useless law school degree so I had more money to blow

When I compare my life now to a little over 2 years ago when I was married, it's crazy how much happier I am now. I can't believe I wanted to save the marriage in hindsight. I make more money now, have less debt, can spend money how I please, have a better relationship with my daughter, and I've become closer with my other family and friends. It's crazy how isolated I got in the marriage.

So my separation and divorce hit me by surprise. In the 2 weeks before we separated we celebrated my birthday, our daughter's birthday, and a wedding anniversary. We even went out to brunch as a family the weekend before she wanted to go to her parent's house to think about things. We were legally divorced 3 months later. It was really fast. I spent a lot of time afterwards thinking about what went wrong and looking for closure that I never got. Eventually I decided to put it all behind me and m…

This is the way. My ex wife wanted to separate and then rushed a divorce within 3 or 4 months. A couple of years later I lost weight, got my health better, earn more money and have an awesome gf I'm happy with. She has gained weight, her career stalled, and she isn't have as easy of a time dating as she thought. Just focus on living a good life don't worry about her

After I got divorced and started dating, there was a young girl who assumed that she could move in with me and be taken care of. My response was that I already have a kid that I take care of and I don't need another 😂

I'm a little torn. On one hand it would be good to hear since she tried to make me out as a horrible person and bad father during the divorce. On the other hand, my life is a lot better now and I don't care to dig up the past.

Even if you were still married, you're not obligated to pay for college. You should be fine with what you have planned

So I get my daughter every Thursday evening and drop her off every Sunday evening. I told my ex wife that this wasn't really a fair arrangement but she didn't want to budge. It sucks, but I was dating a lot after work on week nights. It got pretty exhausting. What I have been getting is a lot of quality time with my daughter. My ex realizes now that she can't take my daughter to any events or parties, and not I'm not budging

For me it was religious differences that were compounded by covid and then the vaccine. I feel like the marriage was more of a mission than a marriage for her. We also had different goals and aspirations.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
