Be yourself, don't change your interests for the sake of a man. I like similar things. You can still manage to be feminine and "submit" while being yourself. It's more of an attitude shift.

We're on the same page, lady! :)

That's really sweet. I had to learn to leave my BF alone when he's in certain moods. It was rough because I always want to solve the issue as soon as possible, but that's not how emotions work. I liked your paragraph about being a feminist and making a choice. I feel like that's the root of feminism and it's what everyone seems to forget!

I absolutely adore the 1910s through the 60s! (Very broad, I know!). There was so much beauty and trend development. The wedding dress I would make is a champagne 1920's number with a bias cut. My partner and I both like vintage. I would love to get married in an old school jazz club :) I'd love to sew some 50s A-line skirts for everyday wear, too.

I would ideally like to sew from vintage patterns to make clothing for myself. I just really like old stuff and it's hard to find what I'm looking for! I need a challenge, too. Lol

That's a beautiful idea. So important to re-evaluate couple habits occasionally.

I love this! Put yourself first and everything else will fall in line.

Lose 30 lbs slowly and sustainably. Eat more like a French woman- small doses of pleasure to stay thin Build a capsule wardrobe and minimize my possessions. I want a few high quality things. I have anxiety and minimalism really helps. Get back into learning a language. Probably German. Learn to sew. Do well in grad school. Keep that 4.0. Awesome goals, ladies!

Can you elaborate?

Of course! You can and should work on yourself while you are in a relationship. Part of being together is growing together. Maybe make a list of things you want to improve physically, emotionally, things you want to learn, and get cracking. I am almost two years deep in an LTR. I'm working on my figure, learning to sew, and I took a couple years off of work for grad school in hopes of getting a better job (I'm a writer). You are so young and have so much to do and learn!

Exactly. I recently saw something on TRP about how short guys or less facially attractive guys need to focus more on their physique. Just like me, a woman with a pretty face and smarts would do well to get down to a better weight, so I'm working on dropping 25-30 pounds this year. We work on our areas of weakness in order to improve.

My bf and I are actually both bi! It is nice to have a little traditional and modernism, definitely a good mix :)

Yesss. I am in the sense of equal rights (LGBTQ+ especially). But I see a lot of value in tradition as well.

Me neither! But coming from the liberal NE of the US, I can see many things that would offend the people I grew up around. There are good parts of the liberal agenda, sure; but everything has to be super PC and all-inclusive, at all times. It's not helping anyone.

Same! I'm a little chunky and working on it (ugh, the holidays though), and I choose to be inspired by this sub rather than offended. Being offended is a waste of time.

Honestly, I handle our finances. I am more organized and pragmatic by nature. He is happy with this, and takes the reins in other areas where he is better. It is all what works for you as a couple. Edit: I should mention he was rather irresponsible with money when I met him and have been showing him the value of saving and investing money. Would I love to surrender the finances to him at some point? Gladly. But sadly he was not brought up to think about these things, so it is happening later in …

You lucky girl! Congratulations! I am waiting on the ring myself. But I do have a few bits of advice for you, from my own life experience and talking with people. Don't be in too much of a rush to have kids. Make sure 100% you understand what it means to have a child (a lot of people don't, and end up regretting having kids). Enjoy some years of kid-free married life to make memories together and strengthen your bond. Continue to pursue your own career and hobbies. Obviously while supporting you…

Very good advice. I used to overmix everything.

Nice! I love baking for my man, it makes him and our friends very happy! Now to stop eating the baked goods myself. Lol.

Hell no. If he won't come visit you, forget his number. If a man wants to see you, he will do everything in his power to see you. Take a step back for air. I say don't contact him for a bit...if he calls you (not texts you) saying, "hey, what happened, we had a good thing going?"- you've been busy with your awesome life. If he begs to see you, make a date on your terms (he needs to drive out, he should at least split the bill, etc.). If he doesn't call, forget his (albeit, funny) ass. He likely …
