You don't really need a hedge fund to do it, that strategy is simple enough to build on your own. Quantopian backtested something similar and well it would have been shit. You can criticize which companies were chosen but honestly... you're most likely wrong.

That's your claim. Deterrence arguments make sense from a rational perspective. But when someone is making fake accusations they are often from a place of emotion, not reason and thus the logic of wow I shouldn't do x because of the risk of being punished fades away. Also even if the punishment is severe, it would be very difficult to prove many false rape accusations. And even harder from the perspective of prosecutors to prosecute.

I'm going to take the unpopular opinion here. Rape accusations that are withdrawn in a short period of time should rarely be prosecuted. To clarify a few things: 1) this is from 2005, and at that time the child was 5. It's been discussed and re discussed countless times http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2005-02-25/news/0502250262_1_deceptive-sperm-illinois-appellate-court 2) he was allowed to sue for emotional damages. Not sure what came of that. 3) she claimed the child was born the natural way and that he lied to get out of child support.

I'm sorry but if I was going out of the country for 8 days I would definitely tell my boss. And at least some vague idea to coworkers who I would need to cover me on certain things. Where do you work where going for 8 days without giving your boss indication you won't be at home is the right option?

Where are you finding that? It said they were returned in part due to a coroners report that the death was not suspicious. They had a hunch, but there is always so much pressure to return kids. Like where do you find that the evidence is strong enough that his decision deserves him being disbarred? Yes he made the wrong decision in this case.

The more relevant lawsuit was this one and the reason they were allowed to refuse was because of freedom of religion. The question would be on what grounds they were refusing to make the clothing. Of course it's likely not precedent setting here and the lower court (commission) did rule in favor of forcing them to make such shirts.

So you agree that job-hopping is a good strategy for the average RP-er? I think you answered your own question there. In tech, yes moving around a lot is reasonable (and the job description allows you to move around more). But the average person isn't in tech. I would say job hopping is not necessarily the best strategy for the average person, however keeping your eye/ear out for things you might be interested in always is.

Who is they? If they put you in charge then you aren't in charge... Even Bill Gates and Steve Jobs job hopped around and worked for their competitors first. There are so many good examples of people who job hopped and are successful, however neither of those two could possibly be considered job hopping "first".

I have no idea what this means but like everything the answer is it depends. Been more enjoyable the second time, it's been less. Also dependent on how tired you are from the first too at least for me. Honestly more enjoying the wow I did this than the actual action the second time at least the few times I've done it.

I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to do with your title, but the woman in this case is the one who is a medium risk of re-offending. Judge McReynolds said Gallagher’s health issues were exceptional enough to justify a suspended jail sentence. That's what justified the sentencing.

I think Cracked is good to bring up topics but isn't actually that great for critical analysis. Some of them are serious issues with complicated fixes. I don't think that is the intention of the system. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adversarial_system. I mean it is. There are plenty of discussions on the pros and cons of having it vs an inquisitional system and other systems but there really isn't a perfect system.

We have an adversarial system, not a truth seeking system. It's actually intentional that they are trying to get a conviction above all else. There is a lot of ethical discussion on whether it is good or bad but it's not that simple. And there is definitely oversight by special prosecutors, the legislators, higher level prosecutors and of course the bar. Is it sufficient? Maybe not, but "oversight" while being a nice phrase for campaigns is not as simple as it sounds.

A lot of that is for insurance (fraternities are a huge liability) and it's the money that is going to parties you throw. It's a hell of a lot cheaper to throw a party at a fraternity house then go to bars.

The point you miss that other people point out is even then you shouldn't get married if you make enough. It would be better to be two single people living together. Also the lack of need for lawyers in the case you split up, etc have to be weighed.

Probably because they bring up that their main issue is dealing with false rape accusations. If that was all those groups tried to stick to they probably would eventually have a chance at gaining traction. But MRA groups seem to always get forced to/talk on their own about false rape accusations and then everyone associates them with it.
