I definitely love finding new words and expanding my vocabulary. Although, that there is one word in that article that is uncommon or obscure doesn't render the entire article less accessible, I reckon. Isn't that, in fact, one way to encourage and aid discovery of new language that is very accessible to most people? To use an obscure word or two in a regular article.

Wow, I could not watch that whole thing. I came to a point where I thought "This is just ridiculous, but I want to see the end, I can power through." I simply couldn't. That woman was an escalating super douche

It is of poor design how they've worded that part. However, the fact that women appear more frequently in cleaning ads than men subtly reinforces the idea that women are meant to do more cleaning than men, promoting parts of gender inequality, and this is the issue that they're trying to highlight.
