True: yet they are. Identity should be indexed to the things of eternity, denoted religion, not the politics of transient things. Yet it is.

The huge variety of words translated as 'submission' and its variants, never mean respect, but sometimes do mean servant or slave (δουλειά), or mean the same by implication: the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church and parents the head of the children. The church doesn't respect Christ as an equal, it worships him as a servant (δούλος); Eph 5:22-6:3. 'Your desire will be for your husband, but he will rule over you', 'rule' translates 'yimshal', which is political a…

What made it work was the fact that both of them are extreme outliers. Hard cases make bad law and worse examples. Redpilling in everything is about group mean differences and group mean variance.

Successful older men look for intelligent and/or educated[1] younger women[2] who are good homemakers (the old, stereotypical MRS degree) and generally look for ones who want children now[2] in addition to religio-culturo-racial[4] and SMV fit. It's called assortative mating. The only thing semicontroversial about my first paragraph even in mainstream personality and evolutionary psychology and psychometrics is the use of the concept of SMV with all that entails (body count, the wall, monkeybran…

You can't separate the marriage from the leftism. Their arrangement was unnatural. Hard cases make bad law. Just because one high-profile feminized husband/SAHH marriage works doesn't vitiate the insight that the arrangement is repugnant to most people, especially over long periods. I'd bet they had no children as well.

Having ridiculously high mean IQ doesn't hurt either. Jewish culture is close to an ideal evolutionary strategy. I posted about FIRE (i.e., spending very little to retire at 40-50) somewhere in this thread, and most of the people I know are 'adherents' of it. I've known one single individual who was generationally wealthy. I have a family member who didn't get air conditioning until the early 2000s because of the cost of retrofitting his house, even though he's a very high earner. That's FIRE ta…

I didn't know the stats were that bad. If those are even close to accurate, if you want a generationally-successful man, you better not have any other desiderata whatsoever.

Username checks out. NYC and SF are so 'progressive', moving to them or out of them, either direction, feels like moving to another Western Anglophone country.

The issue here is that the vast majority of successful men of this generation are new-money tech bros. They may or may not have an upper-class pedigree, or a middle-class one. Even a working-class one is not uncommon. Whichever is the case, our social circles tend to be other nouveaux riches and tech bros. The question you're addressing is a subset of the OP, referring to generationally successful men or successful men with a pedigree, not successful men qua successful men. Probably the majority…

In Chicago (medium CoL) and even lower-CoL areas in the Midwest, a younger SAHW is the norm for a 'high-powered' businessman in the fields I'm familiar with - quantitative finance and software engineering. I've never known any surgeons or corporate lawyers, so I can't speak to them. Part of this may be because assortative mating/matching based on occupation is literally not an option for men in those two fields, because they are completely (>80%) dominated by men, unlike medicine. When one partn…

Weight on things that are important to you. If religion is a big part of your life, someone from the same Creed and even the same sect or denomination is almost mandatory. Even if he's high SMV, religious conflict will sink the ship. E.g., tradcath to tradcath, not Catholic to Baptist, Calvinist to agnostic, or trad to Vatican II. Otherwise even your arguments about money, childrearing, engagement with the world, politics, etc. won't begin on shared ground, since Catholics presuppose the authori…
