Join a local improv club. You'll learn how to make quick witted jokes on the fly and just "go with the flow" in general. Also, listen to comedy standup, podcasts, and radio shows. You'll get an idea of what works. You ideally want to strike a balance between humor and seriousness. Don't be a complete goof ball but show you can lighten up about things. Timing is almost everything and it's less about what you say but how you say it. Good comedic timing and voice tone are key. Delivery over content…

Men's expectations: take good care of your body, reciprocate intimacy, and don't be crazy Women's expectations: be fit (large muscles and six pack) tall (6'+), make at least $100k a year or more if she makes that much, be an absolute sex God that can bring multiple orgasms within minutes, own a large house, drive a luxury vehicle, have perfect confidence and emotional control -- never show any sign of weakeness, dress in top of the line fashion, have a superb level of charm and wit, have at leas…

Fine. Withdrawn. But only to protect the environment and innocent people, not your client.

"Oh come on, Abby, I gotta eat! I'm hungry!" "I'm not" "I--you---we both gotta--" "I said I'm not hungry" "We share the same stomach, Abby. We're both hungry "I'm not"

Perhaps I should have added a disclaimer at the bottom: Women can also exhibit masculine traits and behavior. Men can, in the same vein, exhibit feminine traits and behaviors. But okay, why is it that the term "toxic masculinity" is used to describe the unruly and reckless behavior men and never a women? Women can't be unruly? Women can't be reckless? Why do you never hear the phrase "toxic feminity" used to describe a women (or a man for that matter)? (Unless that person is labeled as misogynis…

Emotional control is not "emotionless". It's remaining calm under stress/pressure and releasing them in a positive, productive way at an appropriate time and in an appropriate environment. Art, music are creative expressions of sad or happy emotion, for example. Likewise, driving towards goals is a good way to release angry emotion And by the way, it's not really men doing the judging. There have been studies showing men feel more comfortable sharing emotional baggage with their (male) buddies t…

I agree that there are "toxic" levels of masculinity, there's an extreme side of the spectrum, but I don't agree with your solution or example. Men and women have evolved very differently. Men were the hunters, women were the gathers. Men needed to be in control of their emotions for survival. You couldn't shout or scream if something jumped out of the bushes while out on the hunt. You had to remain calm and poise, quiet, otherwise you'd either scare off your prey or the hunter would become the …

That much could be said about each of these traits in extreme doses. But yeah, over sacrificing your own well being is no bueno. Toxic for sure.

Yeah and most men either submit (and change) or die (and kill themselves) but let's face it, either way is suicide. Either physically or mentally. Those that wake up and aren't suicidal towards at the very least, their dignity, are labeled as misogynists. It's a win-win-win. Have them as a slave to provide resources perpetually Or have them sacrifice their life (in war or on the job) or just straight up off themselves Or have them look like the enemy (if they remain masculine) To the ones in pow…

Yup. I was hoping someone noticed that. It's called Homoarakhn in case you're looking. Used it on the word "responsibility" since "with great power comes great responsibility"

Yeah at the end of the day, masculinity is just a "thing". It's what you do with the thing that matters. Fire is just a thing. You can use it to cook meals, provide warmth, create metal and forge tools and building materials, but let it get out of control, and you can burn down a whole town. We're at a point in civilization where the majority of the tribe is against fire because a few cave men and cave women got burned a couple times. We're not going to evolve as a society if we outcast somethin…

Yet female only spaces are encouraged. A prime example of male spaces being shut down from exclusivity while female spaces thrive is the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts programs. Boy Scouts are going to allow girls to join, while Girl Scouts are NOT going to allow boys to join, saying it's "girl run, girl lead program". Literally a quote from the official Girl Scout response to girls joining Boy Scouts, by the way. Somehow a boy run, boy lead program is mysogonistic and against equality, yet a girl r…

Official response from the Girl Scouts... "Girl Scouts is the best girl leadership organization in the world, created with and for girls. We believe strongly in the importance of the all-girl, girl-led, and girl-friendly environment that Girl Scouts provides, which creates a free space for girls to learn and thrive." Let's flip the genders. Let's pretend the Girl Scouts allowed Boys to join and the Boy Scouts responded with this... "Boy Scouts is the best boy leadership organization in the world…
