Remember this came out in 1956. The entire idea of happiness was what you owned. So yes, he may have a stronger side toward capitalism and money. Do not worry about his examples, they are only examples, it is the message that you should understand. A message that he admits goes back 2000 years. I don't think whoever wrote the bible was thinking of this only for monetary gain. Keep in mind, those are great examples for the time period and maybe even his target audience. He does mention being a housewife and taking care of the kids. These are the kinds of people who are, in my eyes, truly successful. These are the people who have lived the most fulfilling lives. Their aims and goals don't revolve around material gains. Instead, they focus on fulfilment of the mind and soul. This is his point as well.
