Dating pool skews to have people with mental health issues over-represented. Next issue, is people with personality disorders are more likely to approach/engage in risky behaviour.

Well man, may I send you this song - one of the few that captures America. I hope you listen to it and enjoy it. Hang tight, brother.

That's the general consensus from what I hear them say IRL or see online, lol - maybe that is just bias on my part, though? Maybe I'm just focusing on that. The dude friends of women will tell them to move on, their divorced friends will tell them to move on, their mom/aunt/grandma will generally be telling them to move on because they want kids, their lesbian friends will also be saying... interesting things... I definitely agree with the second part of the last segment of what you said. But I'…

Idk about that, literally no-one has given me that advice. And what I've seen on this sub is to avoid dating or LTR until a minimum of 6 months after the divorce. That could be years after the initial filing, even in uncontested cases (like what my father is going through) I have seen that advice for women, though, and even the language used illustrates the gender bias...

Teach your kids how to cook and have them do meal prep for you, lol! I'd always try to leave something in the freezer for my dad, stepmom, and siblings when I'd vist them. Saves time and keeps the family close.

Just talking to people IRL, or doing a search for sentiment on reddit? I think it has something to do with social groups, though - women generally have a more varied social circle than men, and they'll get some really good advice, and some advice that is just... questionable at best. So a girl might be told, "Go for it" by her friends that have done the same themselves, are trying to live vicariously, or who possibly have ulterior motives. The guys, however, tend to fall back on "go to the gym" …

Not the person who made the comment you're replying to, but I don't think it's that. There are plenty of men who are the same way, if we're being completely frank here! It's the social-circles and especially reinforcement from online spaces that seem to be the issue here - women are encouraged to move on quickly, whereas the men don't even have social groups for support, all too often.

The modern double-stardard has inverted. Popular opinion says men shouldn't date until long after the divorce is finalized, as in 6 months to years, or risk the run of being called "fuckbois" Whereas women start dating before the separation has even started, i.e. cheat, and are lauded as being "liberated" So men get put in the position of their exes being "allowed" to dictate their lives, no matter the circumstances of the divorce. Bit of a headscratcher, but I guess just "be reasonable" is too …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
