Pretty bummed honestly. I was doing pretty well for a while there, being happy and independent when a buddy of mine was jumping into the dating pool so I decided to do the same -- I think the process made me either realize or perhaps just feel a bit more lonely. I ended up going to a party and going home with a girl where I think we had a really good time (and she indicated as such) -- exchanged phone numbers at the end. She was not very responsive (in time but eventually responded) and just sta…

This is definitely tough and worse in the modern era than previous times. I will say that it sounds like you might be putting a but too much pressure on expectations and final outcome. If you're looking to get into a relationship / go on dates with someone, that's a lot of expectation before you know them. Something that might alleviate the pressure is to actually learn how to appreciate the process -- just focus on having a good conversation in the first place (no expectations), and eventually …

A steady exercise regimen is key -- so looking for something that is sustainable in the long-term will be better than "going hard" to the point of exhaustion (of which I am personally guilty).

Thanks -- I think you're right, and time certainly helps. Already just being honest in this post I think has helped. I have a few people who have been supportive through the process, but it's also remarkably helpful to share and "get it all out there" with strangers on the internet while remaining anonymous. Being vulnerable is difficult during a time where I'm trying to "be strong". And admittedly times are rough these days -- wildfires / climate change, COVID -- there's external concerns tha…

I've been exercising more recently, eating well and generally sleeping 8h a night -- but I think that my efforts to become healthy may have swung to far in the opposite direction and I'm just tired from working out too much. Somehow I'm just terrible at finding that "happy medium" or moderation in my life -- a struggle I've always had. And a recent breakup has led to a lot of self-pressure to "be the best man I can".

Agree with /u/TheXXL but would probably add that there's an aspect of how closely you work. First and foremost -- definitely not worth thinking about if you are in any way higher on the totem pole than the person you're pursuing. OTOH, if you're effectively at equivalent levels and/or work in different parts of a larger company then it isn't as big of a deal.

This advice is delivered at just the right time for me. Thank you sir!

Just had something similar happen on my end for the same reason (or at least it was a contributing factor). Thanks for putting it in writing.

Dude asking girls out who are taken is just practice making you better -- finding out she has a boyfriend and then not approaching has no benefit. You won b/c you tried.

why are you jumping to consideration about how she'll think of you (re: living with your parents).... Start talking to everyone. Talk to people in the grocery store, at the gym, wherever you go. Just start with "hey how's it going". Then just add in something like the weather. Ask someone for directions, ask someone at the grocery store where a particular item is... it doesn't matter just start engaging all strangers. Eventually you will start with a simple comment or conversation starter and fo…

This is awesome -- thanks for that. I don't have much AA but I really appreciate the phrase and I'll definitely be copying it. Because I'm the fucking boss!

Dude you should know that this is awesome. If I could only have the time back that I spent in situations of unrequitted love. You should always get right down to it as soon as possible -- it's almost never awkward and generally a compliment to the girl. Continue to make that first step... the more you make that first step the higher the chances are of finding someone who is awesome and single and looking for a date! Keep it up bro!

I found that for a while I had a real struggle with this as well. It was almost like I appreciated the challenge of trying to gain someone's interest but once I had it then the game was over and no longer interesting. It was like I just wanted to see if I could get someone to like me but once they did then it felt like I could do better. More recently though I've tried to use several interactions to build a positive impression (both of mine and of theirs) of personality and interests and letting…

Ha this is awesome. Definitely better than ignoring and / or playing the friend thing. I get into the situation from time to time that I have someone who I need to move on from and this must be the best way of doing it. Now I just need some good ways to deliver the "not unless we're naked".

The eye-contact thing... is this something you do always (i.e. in all conversations) or is it something you only do on first interaction? It seems like people would get annoyed or flustered at you staring at them if you did it the entire time.

Yeah I don't think this is actually a hard and fast rule... but there is definitely a wrong way to deliver a joke and that is by delivering the punch line and laughing before others get it. You've got to give the audience time to react then you can join them in laughter. Laughing through the joke b/c it's so funny is ok but it's probably still good to pause after delivery. /$0.02

Yeah I was actually going to mention that as well. Throw a big party and invite a ton of people... tell them to all invite their friends. Everyone will want to meet you almost out of guilt b/c you're the host and they're at your house (so it's only polite). They will see all the other people there and assume you know all of them when you likely won't (if many are friends of friends). And then in general you'll get invited to any other parties that get thrown in the future (reciprocating).

Start small sometimes to build some critical mass. Find a friend or two who are interested in going out. Once you've got a couple you can talk to other saying "Hey me and A and B are going out on Friday -- you should join us." -- sometimes C and D will bring friends and you go from there. You can also string things together by starting to plan a later hangout at the current one. Momentum is a big part of it if you're trying to build a crew.

How quickly and how in general do I ask if a girl is single?
/r/seduction17/12/12 11:38 PM

That's actually a natural reaction. We want what we can have.... because what we can have means we can probably do better anyway.

When's a good time to ask about a boyfriend? Is it okay to chat with a girl and then say "Hey you're cute, do you have a boyfriend" and if they say no "would you like to go out sometime?". I want to be much more forward with this question as it seems in a lot of social settings I get into the girls are takend and I'd rather know early and it indicates my intentions anyway.

Yes... simply talk to them. If you consider them out of your league then the first step is really just being comfortable walking up and talking to them and honestly it isn't that hard. If you're cold approaching, expect to walk away after a minute or two anyway -- who knows they may be super chill and inviting or they may give you signs of lack of interest but sitting there questioning it isn't going to give any answers.

Good points here. I feel like a lot of people want to go from "I can't approach" to "why am I not getting sex". Key being to try to focus on the middle ground of just interacting with as many people as possible and being comfortable talking with strangers. Once you have that comfort (read: confidence) from there it's easier to take the next step of building rapport / escalating. Even there's a good outcome and something to work on (and should be considered a success in and of itself). Finally ta…

I'm curious about rejection from what? Are you expecting to get a date with these girls? Or do you think they'll give you the cold shoulder if you ask for the time of day? In the first case might be yes, in the second definitely no. Work on being somewhere in between and moving the meter from time of day to date. It all starts with going up and starting some simple interaction. Once you get that down, you build it to complex interaction, then dates. Start small, don't have huge expectations -- s…

try this: stop your vices for a month I'm trying this -- cut out porn, alcohol, pot, and candy. I've noticed many changes and I hope that most of these will not be limited to a month... although moderation for most things is sufficient for it to no longer be a vice.

Kinda sounds like you're equating social interaction to a "recipe" rather than just being natural... although I guess you may already be busted at this point.

Thanks bro. I guess I'll have to start breaking my rules of "never letting a drink go unfinished" to go with #1 or perhaps I'll try ginger-ale for #2 -- not yet ready for #3.

P.S. Don't drink! I've always found drinking as a crutch at the bar. Almost like something I can hide behind. I'd like to stop this (as I've cut back on drinking lately, but only recently started to try to get into seduction). So what do you do at the bar... order waters? Not drink anything?

Is there a list of videos (or perhaps just other links) to stuff like this? Found it great to watch.

Dude get out there and meet some chill peeps and love up college life. It's such an awewsome time in your life. Lots of people have that awkward "I shouldn't be here." feeling.
