It doesnt matter, OP should just choose whatever he wants. Its better to be really good at something you enjoy and are interested in. Ive done karate, judo, wrestling, muay thai, and BJJ. Based on that- Muay thai and BJJ and you should be okay. I think of Muay thai as my sword and BJJ as my shield. But if i had to choose one one, muay thai/muay boran. The clinch is very underated and a powerful tool

Awesome, hope you enjoy it. Heres some advice: Try and relax, tension is your enemy in bjj. Tap early. Dont think of rolling (sparring) as a competition, its a way to practice your skills. If you do submissions, be gentle. Its often newbies who cause injuries to others.

I love that concept "middles people". Its very true. Ive noticed a lot of people in my class change over the years, including myself.

This is true, in my experience anyways. I dont know if i would label it like that though. Alpha is contextual. I started muay thai a while ago, then later got into bjj. Definately a difference the personalities that gets attracted to each discipline. Not saying 1 is better than the other, ive made some good friends in both sports, but ive definately noticed a difference in personalities.

Thank you, i realized a few months ago that i got caught up in mental masturbation like you described. The plan is to quit my job in February , get something less stressful and refocus on just living life for a bit.

Youre getting in your own way. Find out why and get out of your own way.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
