I'd wager that not wanting to start working until after her postdoc was the reason for rejection. Why bother negotiating with someone who won't fill the position when you want them to anyway. This is a sub for mens rights, not a sub against feminism. I'm not suggesting any censorship, and feminism will often arise when discussing mens issues, but the post you refer to should ideally have people supporting the man and his problems in a positive way rather than whining about feminism. There was a clear basis for it, it works. She was terrible at her job and needed to deflect some very harsh criticism so pulled out the trump card. Even if it means painting a husband with two daughters a misogynist, it still works. Patriarchy might be a myth, but Chivalry definately isn't. Look, court isn't some wonderful place where fairytales come true. You want to stay as far away from court as you can, while keeping it as an ace up your sleeve. Go to department heads, managers, every large organisation has avenues you can persue. I've gotten some close to explaining logically, and the best response was "I believe that sexism is not merely someone holding a prejudiced view of someone else based on their sex. I believe that it also involves power and privilege." So basically, misandry doesn't exist because patriatchy, and seeing all men are given power and privilege through the magic of patriarchy only misogyny can possibly exist.

I think it's almost easier to sell men on the patriarchy myth, as they've generally competed with males to get to the top from a young age, and have been beaten back a few times, been top dog at others. We live in a culture that abhors, codemns and shuns rapists. If we didn't live in this "rape culture" where we imprison rapists I'd wager there would be far more rape as there would be no means to accuse anybody of a crime. So, please explain how our culture would see less rape if we changed our minds about it being one of the most heinous crimes around.

Admitting your child was crawling around eating paperclips while she works isn't exactly what anyone would expect of a parent looking after the needs of their child. I'm glad this reached the US, and I'm encouraged by the comments there. Especially the guy who pointed out your kids are 10x safer next to a complete stranger than a friend or relative. I guess they should revise their policy so that children are seperated from anyone they know, except that would expose the absurdity of the situation. The ludicrous logic that results in these policies is so easy to unmask, yet everyone is so reluctant to offend that it ends up policy.

Their reaction to the missing friend is completely justified, and all they did was give information on the last person she was seen with. The OP is definitely overreacting. Apart from the all caps, his first statement is a strawman. No one has accused anyone of anything. The use of suspicious is fine to describe when someone disappears for fucks sake. That hole has always been there. Anything slightly politicized (except perhaps military history) is overrun with special interest groups pushing agendas. It's an inbuilt flaw that can only be fixed with impartial editors.
