She said I was cranky and she didn’t think I liked her. I tried to make some changes and acknowledged that. A therapist told her it was emotional abuse. We were on a date and afterward she told me it was over.

I never got a great explanation, or even an adequate one. I know she remembered the bad times much mor than I did.

My dude. I’m sorry. You need a hard reset. You should not have been sleeping with her after she initiated divorce. You know that.

I think my ex is "grey rocking" me, giving me absolutely zero input or replies unless it's specifically about our kid. It makes sense, of course, but it sucks. Need to learn my lesson.

My argument stands. The OP had an unpleasant experience with a woman. He believed he was intellectually superior to her and --voila!--found some old quote to gussy up his beliefs.

Using this hypothesis to validate 19th-century patriarchal philosophy is categorically wrong. Misogyny isn't just the belief in statistical variance-- it's using that variance to shit on a group: women. Schopenhauer’s writing treated women with contempt and suggested--here--that they're incapable of genuine objectivity or higher thought. People love finding research and quotes they think are going to validate them.

My dude. It pains me to think that anything in this red-pilled, misogynist slop called out to you. I'll go one further: he's dead wrong. The ability to live in the present, to not concern oneself with past or future events, is the highest form of humanity. Maybe take a hard look at yourself. Maybe you're half as intellectual as you think you are. Read some Ram Dass and touch grass.

I mopped the floor with my face. Wound up in the hospital with a panic attack. The nurse asked me if I was suicidal, and I thought of my kids and said, "I can't be." It will get better.

You acted out, once. Now don’t do it again. Plain and simple. Your marriage is over. You know it. Unfortunately, it’s going to be a big shit sandwich before you accept it. My advice: be a method actor and play the part of a man who is competently indifferent to your wife leaving. Fake it until you make it.

/r/Divorce_Men26/04/26 01:01 PM

The answer, for better or worse, is that women or the “women sphere”believe women get the raw deal in a marriage, particularly if kids are involved. They take on more work and, often, still have to provide an income. Getting divorced with 50/50 custody forces men to take 50 percent responsibility and gives the women free time for themselves, mandated be the court. I’m a twice-divorced male.

You don’t have to listen to everyone telling you to walk away. That’s a difficult decision. Everyone brings their own baggage to these Threads and it’s very easy to tell a stranger to walk away.
