14	My gynecologist told me the REAL reason she shortens IUD strings- it's because men try to remove IUDs with out their partner's consent. I got the implant too! Mostly because pills are a nuisance but also to protect myself if I ever got into a situation where a man would take advantage of me. It's horrifying that I even had to think of that as a reason.
