/u/waxwick is female. I never liked the kilts anyway - they had to be dry cleaned and I'm a toss-it-all-in-the-wash kinda gal.

I don't think he should have been tried as an adult without first having gone through rigorous psychological analysis.

I just entered a new relationship, and I'm delighted to say that, of what I know of her this early on, she meets this bill to a T. She's genuinely great to be around.

Or stupid enough to listen to the gender we're trying to attract.

Do so! If more people did discussion like /u/Jerzeem does, we'd have fewer misunderstandings, fewer instances of people feeling insulted, and overall more productive conversation. By my reckoning, most communication issues arise when Party B erroneously thinks they understand Party A and responds based on that misunderstanding. Party A then misunderstands Party B, perhaps gets insulted or confused, and it's a downward spiral for 40 minutes until (if!) one of them realizes the original misunderst…

/r/AskFeminists is very nearly as bad as /r/feminism. I believe /r/feminisms has been called moderately better, though I cannot confirm this from my own experience.

I would just like to interject that I LOVE your style of discussion. Establish your understanding of the previous point, ask questions based on that understanding. It's VERY good communication and I applaud you for it.

Which is funny, because reddit's hierarchical threading format is IDEAL for discussions that take significant diversions.

The majority of women I've met in real life are quite sensible and respectable, even on gender issues. The ones that are so loony are the outliers within the feminist movement; they just so happen to be the noisiest ones online.

http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/us/definition/american_english/feminism Tell me which part of that definition you think we should be fighting against. Feminism is good. Many feminists are bad.

There is nothing wrong with feminism. There is much wrong with many of the people who advocate for it.

(Side note, you should've clicked the reply link under my comment.) I'm sure you're not the only one who feels that way, but I would chance it to say that it's the wrong way to feel. At the core, both the Feminist movement and the Men's Rights movement are both about making things better for their respective group, but there isn't anything in there that even implies that that must come at the detriment of other groups. The best world we could possibly live in is one where everyone loves everyone…

I'm not law enforcement nor a lawyer. I'm just saying, he was not in a house with consent of the owner. He (and she) was sneaking around, and that does not make him innocent.

I'm with you all the way up to "innocent boy". The girl is a minor, that's her father's house, that boy was trespassing. It IS partially his fault. Does it justify the lying or shooting or societal bullshit? No, not at all, but he is not innocent.

While I agree with the sentiment, the use of the term "mansplaining" is childish and hurtful. I really don't think we should stoop to that level in reverse.

Kinda like reprogramming your computer when it has become full of bullshit that makes it slow (which is another reason not to watch porn btw) Got almost all the way to the end without ragequitting over stupid shit and then saw this. Nope. Cannot take this guy seriously anymore.

Basically, the things you're saying (in this hypothetical confrontation) are triggering painful memories of rape or persecution perpetrated by men. The implication is "How could you be so insensitive!?"
