| 2 | Hanging this graphic up around my schoolOk is anyone else getting annoyed by the combat deaths statistic? Yeah, no shit 97% of combat deaths are men, because men make up 82% of the military, and women are often not even allowed on the front line or in combat situations. | /r/MensRights | 29/04/15 09:21 PM |
| 0 | Xpost from TIL "The 23¢ gender pay gap is the difference between average earnings of all men and women working full time...When relevant factors are considered, the gap narrows to the point of vanishing."Yeah, I'm not even saying that the 6.6% is due to sexism. I just think that you can't say that the wage gap vanishes when you account for the correct factors. I would've assumed that "vanished" meant less than 1% or something. | /r/MensRights | 19/04/15 11:15 PM |

When you account for relevant factors, the gap shrinks to 6.6 cents. Now, that's surely not 23 cents, but it's definitely something. I don't think it's reasonable to say that 6.6% is "vanished". | /r/MensRights | 19/04/15 03:27 AM |
| -2 | Just Feminism.I have lived in and interacted with liberal college towns my whole life (places with lots of feminists+feminist demonstrations), and have never heard anyone say anything close to what you just claimed. You must really have some problems if you think what you said is true. I think even you should be able to recognize that this is an awful post | /r/MensRights | 26/03/15 07:49 PM |
| -4 | Just Feminism.I don't understand her poster. Why would her sons grow up thinking they have to hate themselves in order to respect women because of feminism? Who told her that she deserved to be raped? I'm sure no real feminist told her that. I also seriously doubt the feminist movement wished death upon her. She doesn't explain any of her reasoning. Did this get seriously upvoted or is this a satire of some sort? I'm having trouble understanding how a post like this got so many upvotes. This type of post make… | /r/MensRights | 26/03/15 02:15 PM |
| -2 | Refuting this "feminist" narrative about how men can't be compromised in comic books. Pretty cool [X-Post r/tumblrInAction]Unfortunately I'm in a decently small town so there isn't too much variety, but I'll take some of your suggestions and look online for those you recommended. I get frustrated with this subreddit's inability to see the other side of things. I don't like how all feminists are lumped into one category by the redditors here. I totally understand the desire to stop Anti-Male double standards, but I don't think that means we should discount feminism all together. This post just hit home with me, becau… | /r/MensRights | 19/03/15 03:57 AM |
| -2 | Refuting this "feminist" narrative about how men can't be compromised in comic books. Pretty cool [X-Post r/tumblrInAction]Thank you for your response, but what you're saying is not at all my experience in the local comic store. I haven't searched enough online I suppose, but I was just in the comic store with my sister last week and everything I said in my comment rang true. Almost everything in the store has oversexualized female characters. That's more the point I was trying to make. Not that there aren't strong female leads, but that the female leads always have to be sexualized, even when they are strong. Like … | /r/MensRights | 19/03/15 03:32 AM |
| -6 | Refuting this "feminist" narrative about how men can't be compromised in comic books. Pretty cool [X-Post r/tumblrInAction]My problem is that /r/MensRights is always attacking feminism and feminists as a whole, when what they're really attacking are the worst examples of feminism they can find on the internet. And you don't sound too familiar with how scholarship works. Scholars don't post on the internet and get in discussions on forums. They write journal articles, and contribute to regular publications. Look there. Look up Michael Kimmel, Jennifer Baumgardner, Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner. Read the literature they hav… | /r/MensRights | 19/03/15 02:10 AM |
| -8 | Refuting this "feminist" narrative about how men can't be compromised in comic books. Pretty cool [X-Post r/tumblrInAction]The bulk of the movement is not crazy vocal extremists. There are thousands of intelligent feminist scholars that this subreddit never gives the light of day. I just see a pattern of posts on this subreddit that are frustrating. It's like the strawman fallacy. Obviously if you're getting your feminist representation from random posts on facebook and twitter, it's going to look bad. Try talking to University professors. You'll find that most humanities/psychology professors, male or female, are f… | /r/MensRights | 19/03/15 01:43 AM |
| -13 | Refuting this "feminist" narrative about how men can't be compromised in comic books. Pretty cool [X-Post r/tumblrInAction]It's absolutely a shitty refutation. The people in /r/MensRights go after horrible arguments said from the mouths of idiots in order to prove their points. Don't know why you're getting downvoted so much. | /r/MensRights | 19/03/15 12:44 AM |
| -15 | Refuting this "feminist" narrative about how men can't be compromised in comic books. Pretty cool [X-Post r/tumblrInAction]I think people are misunderstanding the point of this comic book argument. She shouldn't have said batman is always in a position of power, because that's obviously not true. The point of the argument is that female comic book characters are most often portrayed in a sexy and weak manner, whereas male characters are most often displayed as powerful characters. Yes, of course there's exceptions to both rules. If anyone has little sisters who aren't into typically feminine entertainment for their … | /r/MensRights | 19/03/15 12:42 AM |
