The patriarchy doesnt exist, or at least doesnt in the 21st century. Women being given lighter sentences does not stem from patriarchy, that makes zero sense. Also, just because men get a slap on the wrist sometimes does not mean it happens at the same rate as women. In fact, our very definitions of rape are flawed. Neither. A woman cant fight off a man because of strength, a man can't fight her off because of drugs or being accused of assault.
