I have a daughter and a wife and definitely don't hate women. I do think this would be made to be a bigger deal if the genders were reversed as well. The common theme I bring up in men's rights is that men's privacy/modesty is treated as not as important as women's. I found this story to be abhorrent. This case about being supervised from four feet away is still being litigated. There is no decision yet. As of right now, women can supervise men showering up close. This decision I posted said the appeals court ruled that the lower court was wrong to dismiss the suit, but they have not ruled in favor of Mr. Byrd. Not really. They left the 9th circuit decision alone, which means its unconstitutional in the 9th circuit. This has no effect on the shower lawsuit though. As of now, women can still watch men shower in the 9th circuit. I am not sure what the laws on cross-gender strip searched are on the other circuits. The Supreme Court has never issued a ruling on the matter.

The solution is to get all media, men and women, out of the locker room. They're not allowed to follow senators into the bathroom. They don't need this access. It's ridiculous, and so disrespectful to the men.

I'm actually surprised that many people have told her that she has a right to look all she wants, but not to record. Female journalists swear to high heaven that they go out of their way not to look. Several players have disputed that. Even if the arrangement used to work, it should end with smartphones now. Do you really think she's the only woman doing this?

That's what this was always about though, that this would be done to a boy and not to a girl. Stripping is considered a form of punishment in other parts of the world reserved for boys, and that's what happened here. This is thought of as punishment for boys, but sexual assault for girls. Just like in schools where they still paddle it is almost exclusively boys that gets paddled.

I definitely agree with where you are coming from. It just gets old listening to this message that only men objectify women. We all objectify people everyday. It's part of human life. It, simply put, gets so old listening to women talk about human issues like they're always women's issues.

Well I'd actually disagree there too. There would be a much larger outcry. Like this would be at the top of r/news if a dad stripped his daughter naked, paraded her around in front of her class, drove home with her still naked, kicked her out of the car and made her walk through the apartment complex naked. There's no way he'd be released on such light charges. It would be a Brock Turner sized story.

You're right, we don't know where he was shown to the class, but this is the quote: "Pierce alleges Cole drove off with her son after parading him nude in front of all of his classmates. Before reaching their home, Cole pulled the car over." I think it's safe to say that she made sure that they all saw him very exposed.

Women's privacy/modesty is almost always valued more than men's. there are many medical blogs about it. Not to mention double standards like female prison guards can supervise nude male inmates but male guards cannot supervise nude female inmates.

Read the NFL media policy. Reporters can stay until all players leave. Also, the visiting team tries to leave the stadium in under an hour after the game. Everything is rushed, and everyone has to change in front of the reporters. It's disgusting and ridiculous.

But are all of the men okay with it? There are some visitors rooms where everyone can see into the showers, so it doesn't matter if you try to be modest or not.
