I was having physical and mental health issues when we split up. Our divorce was finalized and she didn't even bother trying for alimony because we made the same. I got medications straightened out on both fronts and got a new job. I'm making more than twice our combined income now.

You would be far from the first one of us to do that exact thing.

It does seem a bit high but some kids are just a lot more sickly than others.

Your neighbors suck for not saying anything and so does your wife. On the flip side, get the divorce as quick as you want. You can use her affair brain fog to get a better settlement if you tell her you'll fight her for a long time if she wants a better deal.

One other thing to add, don't act like she's so special because she's the mother of your child. She's not. While she may be the mother of your child, you're the father of hers. She wouldn't have her kid if it weren't for you. Look at the way she's treating you. She's telling you how unattractive you are that she was never attracted to you even though you were apparently good enough for her to marry and make a whole other person with. She's doing that while sleeping with some chump that's even wo…

You obviously have something to offer or she wouldn't keep coming around. You're not some invalid who needs to be cared for so don't act like she's doing this great thing that you should be thankful for. Have some self-respect and stop acting like you're this helpless man who can't get by without the affections of a woman who is clearly having sex with some loser. She's demonstrating her worth and how she really feels about you every time she's with him. Just because she's reaching out to you do…

So her friend knew all about the "abuse" and still chose to get with this guy? Definitely makes me wonder just exactly how she defines abuse.

There were a few times in my marriage that things weren't great. My instinct was to work on things to make them better. Her instinct was to start looking for a way out. I was an idiot. If I had half a brain, I should have told her to go and don't come back. I didn't. Don't be like me.

Been separated for a little over a year and a half. Divorce was final in August. I don't know if I'm ready to start dating yet or not. I tried making a move on a woman I thought was into me but I misread that one. I've talked to a few women and there was a bit of a physical attraction there but nothing emotional. I might follow up on one or two of those just to relieve some stress but I'm not sure. I wish there would have been something there with the woman I did make a move on as I still think …

Check out HL Talk The Thought on YouTube. It's nothing but videos of women going on about how much life sucks because they got divorced.

Do you really want to be with someone who is with you because they need you to pay their way through life? You said you already have one daughter, why would you want another one? She wanted the divorce so give it to her and go work on yourself. I get how tight money was when I was married. I've got more free time to spend on my career and don't have another person and all their expenses leaching off of me anymore. My bank account has never been happier.

You don't get in trouble at work for being friends, even really good friends. You get in trouble for fucking your boss and your boss gets in trouble for fucking their employee. Sorry if that was a little too blunt but sometimes it's best to not beat around the bush. That being said, as ohers have pointed out, she's in the happy.nee relationship fog and thinks will stay that way. She doesn't need to worry about getting as much from you because she thinks she'll be getting everything from new guy.…

Married 23 years, actually 24 by the time the divorce was final. She's 44. I have no idea how she's doing nor do I really care. She's out of my life now. I imagine she can't be doing that well since I almost always paid the bills. I think her mom is probably taking over that duty now but that's just a guess.

Yeah, it's not like you split up because the sex was bad. You split up because of your personalities and your actions. Why would you want to be friends with someone like that?

Hey brother, sorry you're here but it's good you're here. Take all that energy that you put into her and your relationship and use it to heal and care for you now.

You've got nothing at all to gain by engaging with these people. Just stay away.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
