On the island? That’s the context here.

Oh no argument - I’ve not heard of any women attending this thing except Ghislaine, but if there were others, for sure they should get their trials. I assume overwhelming majority of criminals in this case were men though. I think it’s a pretty safe assumption and not anti-male to say that because it’s obviously first and foremost a dense concentration of sexual offenders.

It’s a cliche but there is so much Orwellian speak, the opposite of how things are or work. And hypocrisy/double standards, logic errors, ignoring evidence (in bad faith, I presume? This is not a matter of intelligence, but of rationalizing abuse and violence towards men as justified?).

In general, a good compromise might be to draft women for non-combat roles, unless they want combat. It’s better than the huge privilege imbalance of an all-male draft. It’s still an imbalance, but men are generally better suited to combat. Still, women should contribute to national service in times of emergency. There exists a natural imbalance of risks and benefits between the sexes. Men have it worse in some areas, women do in others. I get wanting to respond to irrational victim-baiters who …

Two options of how to interpret this: she’s right or she’s wrong. If you are a literal swamp monster, take her feedback as a gift and improve yourself. Remove the seaweed and slimy tar from your shambling corpse, get a haircut, etc. If you are a normal guy, which is most likely, and you can honestly self-appraise that fact confidently, then her reaction was all in her head and has nothing to do with you. I’ll go so far as to say she staged it and she doesn’t really feel that way, but her low cha…

Please don’t give others permission to manipulate your emotions, especially when those others are extraordinarily privileged, despicable bigots. Only you have control of your emotions. Be thankful when bigots clearly provide information that helps you avoid them forever. I struggle with a similar important element in my life. Not height. But for three years I’ve been trying to do something very important in my life, which lots of people around me seem to do effortlessly. I have been massively de…

Hey, that’s great that the standard will ostensibly be applied equally. Now if they could only figure out how to read minds so that they could know it was an aggravating factor. I’m sure they’d never just assume they could read anyone’s mind, and then accuse them of this thought crime without a vast body of misogynist/misanthropic writing, speeches, and everything you’d need to back it up. It doesn’t mean they hate themselves. It means, in part, that they’re considerate enough to put their best selves forward, at least visually, to others. Another part is understanding the social need for everyone to put some effort in personal appearance.

Oh yeah, so reasonable doubt for sure and he should not be in prison, nor should he have been in prison for that. It’s a corruption of American justice. Just wondering if there was any proof of innocence though. I get there’s plenty of reasonable doubt. I think the article may be mixing up the concepts.

I read the article - it states many times that he’s innocent, but the main argument against his conviction is that there was reasonable doubt because there was a second suspect. Did anyone else see where it was proven he was innocent? Not saying he is or isn’t; the article is written as if his overturned conviction is hard proof of 100% innocence.

Unpopular opinion: I get the desire to fight back and make things equal. Nothing wrong with going to HR, because that’s our system that we live in. And if HR ignores you, that’s a double standard in our system too. And I get wanting to fight that double standard. I think these are distinct problems: double standards in society, gender, and HR, vs. the harm caused to you by that ass pinching. Like, was it meant to be affectionate? Something like camaraderie? It is equally valid to let it go if yo…

Well, I just want to say, nothing of what I wrote was meant as criticism. And your self awareness is great. And the good news of that is, that’s the key to solving much of this. People who don’t take responsibility don’t change. You’re way ahead in that regard. (Not that all of your issues are your fault, like the abuse for example.)
/r/MensRights03/10/21 01:37 AM

My best advice for you is to deal with your many issues and not bring men’s rights into it. The need for men’s rights is a societal problem, but it doesn’t sound like society is causing much of this. Your problems aren’t society’s responsibility, or in anyone’s capability to fix except you. I feel bad for all the stuff you’ve been through and are going through. Additional advice: work backward from what you want. Want a woman? What does a good woman want? Become that man through long, hard work.…

She’s a charming, reasonable person with a beautiful personality. You should marry her ASAP, with no prenup. Then you can have a lifetime of this. What are you going to do, find another woman? Sorry, she’s the only woman in the world out of a population of 7.8 billion. If women were abundant, like if there were 4 billion of them, maybe you could start considering the idea that you’ll find someone else. But that’s just not the world we live in. Be a man!

Question: part of this says that if you abuse a child in some circumstances, you need to report it, or you’re in trouble from the abuse and the cover up. America has a famous rule (I’m from some other place) that says something like, you don’t have to incriminate yourself to the authorities. So say you abused a child, but for whatever reason you wanted to not get in trouble for the non-reporting of it. How is this requirement to report yourself not a breach of the fifth amendment preventing coer…

Ehn, good sentiment, but my only quibble is that one person can’t define the agenda of a belief held by a large group of people. It would be reasonable and valid for a male to only be concerned with men’s predicament. Like how some feminists make this exact statement, and how some feminists advocate for death of all men. It’s a spectrum depicting a linear increase in insanity in one direction. TBF I have never once seen an MRA say anything as remotely genocidal as this common request by a hopefu…

How would you express the value of an apology forced on someone who considers herself a comedic hero for assaulting a guy? Would her insincere apology, and the follow-on shit-talking of you to her friends, be more satisfying than finding five pennies on the sidewalk, for example? It’s astonishing that anyone would demand an insincere apology… and add to that, actually feel better from it.

There may be a positive effect to this, unintended by the supremacists who came up with it. Hear me out. On this premise, bigots have put men on the hook financially to women and kids with whom the men have no continuing relationship. Men wise up and single moms become a no-go. If men go for them, the women are likely to get much lower value guys, because smart guys won’t participate. You should start seeing 7s matched with 4s and the like. I’m going to go against the grain here with my comment. I expect people will willfully misunderstand this: A large part of “kicked in the groin comedy” is satirical, meaning its purpose is to make fun of this old, unfunny trope. Sure, there are lowbrow shows that unironically use groin shots as the honest punchline. But what I’m talking about is, as an example, a scene in the Simpsons where Homer is watching a film festival, and he laughs uproariously at Hans Moleman’s movie, where the entire fi…

Is there a link to something that implicates the man? The way I see it, according to the main narrative (not sure if it’s all correct) the man did nothing wrong, but the woman absolutely tried to sic the cops on him, from a point of delusion that the cops would automatically come kill this guy. If that happened, some kind of social penalty fits. I think firing is kind of on point, especially if this BS is the personality her employer has to put up with. It’s very much in the interests of certain adversarial nations to communicate, through the trusted domestic mainstream media, examples of western countries’ majority groups being violent and prejudiced. The real crime is that hollywood veterans, executives, and experts sat around a table trying to think of a movie idea... and the freshest, most compelling bet they could make, in pursuit of profit, was on a sequel to a 33 year old movie... starring an actor whose last 14 out of 18 movies were “rotten”. I like the idea of the friendships having a middle school vibe. All the fun of high school, without knowing or trying to put on airs of maturity etc. to appear attractive. Agree and well put. As someone with a newborn, it is inconceivable as a parent that I would do this. I live in BC and the midwife asked us what our plans were for circumcision. What does step 3 mean? If abused guy calls line, and tells story of being abused, how do they “admit” it’s a perp line? Do they draw out ways in which he retaliated or provoked it and label it a female victim of abuse?

Maybe. Jordan Peterson is an example of this, and he’s so rare and exotic that he’s famous worldwide, faces massive hatred and censorship attempts, and has no peers anyone could name. He’s not even radical. He deviates from the orthodoxy moderately and still draws protests.

Thank you for your reply and thoughtful tone. Nothing against you, but I would be wary of participating in your research, and of contributing to the conclusions you could be influenced to draw based on the unchallenge-able orthodoxy of academia and its assumptions and taboos. I have seen an example of this in your sampling methodology. I am guilty of making an assumption that you are in a western post-secondary institution.

What’s worse is that Reagan has been the head of all federal, state, and local governments continuously since 1980, giving no other leaders or parties the chance to do anything about it for four straight decades. That’s why there hasn’t been even one single new piece of legislation, of any kind, passed in any of those governments since then - Reagan doesn’t let them. It’s Reagan who is responsible for this!

Money is distributed justly only by a thoughtfully-regulated capitalist state. You earn your market value. This is the natural state that evolves in all societies. Why invest a whole hour into a guy you’re not interested in? They wouldn’t do it because there’s a lineup of free meal guys already here. Side note: not sure I ever encountered this behaviour when I dated. I’ve read about it in women’s own words. I just never saw it in real life.

It’s not just the existence of student debt; factor in whether the degree-holder has selected a field with a positive ROI based on improved career outcomes. In other words, say the degree is in chemical engineering. The career prospects of chemical engineering are robust and therefore the debt is somewhat easily paid. I would love to see a breakdown by gender factoring in debt load, and another metric along the lines of “increased labour market value/degree-enhanced ability to repay.”

It’s simple, but it’s not easy. And I’m describing an end state, not a path, which I’ll be the first to admit is not very useful. How did we basically end smoking (where I live)? Mix of financial disincentives, institutionalized prejudice against it, and using negative public opinion/shaming. Not against single motherhood alone: against any harmful behavior that undermines a stable, prosperous society.

There’s a series of books that starts I think with “Battlefield Ukraine,” by authors called Rosone. And Watson. The series ends in the near future. It’s about war between China, Russia, and India on one side, and USA and splinters of NATO on the other side. One detail in the later books is that US civil liberties are rolled back pretty far because they are a huge weakness that the enemy can exploit. For instance, Russian agents on college campuses protesting/blockading munitions factories and po…

I’d argue that that the lesson isn’t to absolve men of the responsibility to try harder and get their shit together to be a productive member of society. It’s that women should be held to a similar standard. Of course we should all strive. We all lose sometimes. It’s fine. It’s not good advice to “relax” when it happens.

Maybe having the most smug and smarmy Hollywood actor in history as the mascot for this sentiment is not the best. Maybe just a hardworking guy in nature would be a better look. Someone who doesn’t put 100% of his energy into scoring with chicks, then private-jetting to the next climate summit.

The message of the ad was that they DO NOT WANT YOUR BUSINESS. Imagine the mentality of the executive behind this, who is willing to damage his or her own company’s results for this new bigoted ideology. Imagine how rewarding it is for that executive to see that a huge proportion of their customer base continues to act against its own interests by buying their products, despite the company spitting on them. They should make an ad showing men to be bumbling idiots who can’t think their way out of…

My previous gf had this at her work, in regards to selecting shifts. My gf wanted an equal distribution of the “bad” shifts, and not to have them all because my gf had no kids. All the married ladies saying they had this or that family responsibility. That claim downloads their choices onto you and it’s asking unironically for you to subsidize their choices with your own sacrifice. I told her to calmly repeat these concepts, and it worked: The undesirable shifts/weekend shifts should be distribu…

I was thinking today about Jussie’s hoax. It was so insanely fake from the get-go, but Hollywood fell all over itself in hysteric tears about what a hideous country America is. They scrambled to buy a caricature of the media narrative. If they believed that hoax, which had the sophistication of a fourth-grader’s lie, imagine how hard it is for a falsely-accused person whose accuser is credible sounding.

It’s plausible she was being friendly and flirtatious. What was your demeanour that she persisted with this? I’m guessing you weren’t sending “no” signals? You didn’t even say anything? Gillette answered a press question like the week after the ad ran, saying sales were normal. But I don’t think they’d have sales data until supply chains are emptied, wholesalers, retailers. Some thoughts: I wonder does she want/get to see his hog before she locks in? I personally think never boning before marriage could so easily result in a poor-chemistry marriage, with much greater consequences than you’d get by plowing and then breaking it off earlier. All this media attention means she’s just locked in. Some good advice would be that it’s not a big deal, you’ve mythologized sex, just go do it with a good boyfriend. But now? No effing way. On one hand, men should be adults and should be busy with productive pursuits instead of complaining about an SJW company. Victim culture is an abomination and even though men are disproportionately blacklisted and otherwise harmed by it, it’s not something we should adopt, because it’s still wrong. That said, we are getting to a point where the attacks on men and the institutionalized discrimination against them is having a societal effect. Suicide rates for men destroyed by courts, for example…

Self checkouts have many benefits. You don’t get distracted and waste your time at them, which cashiers frequently are. You can go as fast as you can, which most cashiers aren’t going to. It’s a bit of a game. You don’t have to talk to someone or do the dance of exchanging fake pleasantries, which both of you would rather not do. And I can’t imagine anyone would enjoy that job after many years, so you’re liberating them, while passing the savings on to you.

Going to get downvoted for some truths here, but bring it. These things only happen if you allow them to. A few years ago I was asking friendly women I met in conversation, “have you ever worked in an all-female workplace?” And when they had, I asked “how was it?” I’m not making this up, the response always ranged from rolling their eyes at the bullshit of it, to expressing a muted horror at it. “Owe” is not accurate since the government is not asking or requiring individuals to pay it down. Part of taxes pays for it, overwhelmingly paid by top income earners. But there’s no account with your name on it and a million dollars owing. Inflation and revenue growth covers most of it. You can also emigrate at any time, unlike the domestic servants of, say, a wealthy middle eastern country. Bank loans are voluntary and personal discipline is part of personal accountability. We are the product of our choices. You execute the restaurant owner for being bourgeois, repeat until there’s nothing left but ruins, then it’s mission accomplished. This is literally the plan.
