the point here is that they ask the person who just gave birth what names go on the certificate. you do not have to physically be there. you do not have to have a father sign a birth certificate for it to be valid.

do you realize that in many states neither the father nor mother have to fill out a certificate of live birth? the hospital does it for them. "Who's the father, again?", the nurse asked...

afaik, it's done to not endanger the child, even if that means financially, 'cos mommy was slumming it up on the side.

thousands of women may get raped, but pursuing justice is something that they can choose not to do. if they'd like to encourage that sort of behavior by not punishing the perpetrator, that's their right. also, how is this 'bullshit propaganda'? you can check out the links, and do additional research for yourself. both men and women - students AND administrators of these educational institutions - are advocating for the reduction of men's rights when it comes to an allegation of rape. i was under the impression that most countries have a law concerning the minimum age of people wanting to marry. in the states, most can freely marry at 18, but parents can sign a waiver at 16. in this case, a person below 16 couldn't legally be married, which is the reason for my previous comment.
