Thanks for this helpful feedback. I think you are right that I need to rein it in and stop obsessing, and remember that nothing is guaranteed. He has proactively talked about our future together, but I cannot use that as an excuse to take anything for granted. Your feedback to keep improving myself is warranted too. I have plans to keep working in my career and education, but I could definitely be doing better with fitness and mindfulness, among other areas.

Radical Homemakers Ooh, cool to know about the Radical Homemakers book. What you mention are values I am trying to cultivate now and in my future life, so I'll check that book out.

Try opening it in incognito mode or private mode in your browser? Sometimes these paywalled sites allow a limited number of article views in that mode.

1) Go for a run 2x per week plus lift weights 2x per week. I've been off the wagon on this and would like to ease myself back into exercising. 2) Keep my phone out of my bedroom and keep phone use under 1 hour per day. This is a real problem for me in bed in the morning, and I find it saps my motivation to get up and DO stuff. 3) Keep up with my schoolwork and readings, trying to do a little bit every night rather than procrastinating.

Yeah, I think I agree with another poster that RPW is not about putting Homer on a pedestal. That seems to be something one would hope to avoid earlier, through good vetting. You are right in that you cannot (and probably should not) gratitude-journal your way into deceiving yourself. But if working on changing yourself means your relationship dynamics have space to improve, then that's a worthy goal.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
