It sounds like this was a plea bargain. My imperfect understanding is that most cases are plead down rather than go through a lengthy court proceeding. I always assumed that the gender gap was due to white knight judges with discretionary sentences but its probably that females get more favorable pleas.

I had a neighbor who at the time was about 20. According to his side of the story he was hounded by this 16 year old girl. She wanted him in a bad way, finally they did the deed and her parents found out and now he's a perminant sex offender. Granted that's his side of the story but I have a feeling the she came onto me defense didn't carry a lot of weight.

I just wanted the article to talk more about that. What it said was something along the lines of death of women and children are an indicator of severity of war crimes..it didn't unpack that or justify that. I just want to understand what the author is thinking when the author writes it.

It looks like the numbers do not include combatants. The UN numbers do but these researchers seem to have used the smaller number that represents civilians only (around 78k if I read correctly). It makes sense if you think about how incredibly killable men are compared to women and children. This is exactly why tor is still being developed, to circumvent censorship of all kinds. Someone should educate the students to use it and let the technology take care of the problem. The best way ( in my mind ) to protest this kind of censorship is to smugly walk around it.

The frustrating thing about this is the double standard that it is socially acceptable to simply post this kind of comment in public. Where the opposite opinion would not be tolerated. Maybe the problem is on men for not bitching in an orderly manner and in a big way. My personal theory is that it wouldn't matter if they did because noone would care.

I have had 3 seperate friends that have had problems with girls having access to their technology, one girl gained access to his gmail and kept observing him for over a month, then going on to try to trap him in a lie (becasue she had an inside scoop). The use of technology, in my anecdotal experience, has been 100% of the time perpitrated by women. Being anecdotal I wouldn't let it lead me to the conclusion that women are systematically (SYSTEMATICALLY) using technology to oppress men..but hey.…

It's absolutely amazing that something like this can happen. We as citizens are supposed to have protection the arbitrary justice of the courts and yet you can clearly see that when sex comes into it fairness CAN be just thrown out the window. This occurrence should be procedurally impossible. I have a girlfriend right now. She doesn't understand why I don't like the idea of marriage. This lack of legal support for men is exactly why.
