7 year relashionship here. My libido has never changed from day one (including during a pregnancy where I was quite ill). His did though. I think lowering libido is equally common for men and women in longer term relationships though. There's probably something wrong with me lol.

As a woman, in a perfect world it would be 3x a week, sometimes more. I'm not opposed to more than once in a day but not everyday. Once a day would be fine though. On the longer end, the least I'd be happy with would be once a week. In reality, it's 2 month stretches at this point lol.

Yeah government wasn't involved in marriage until a century ago yet Christians act like it's the God of marriage. In the Bible marriage equalled sex and commitment, that's literally it. In Jesus time it was a whole 14 day feast. Well, I don't see any Christians doing that...yet they're out here judging anyone who even thinks about living together before a judge has blessed them, no matter the circumstances. It's ridiculous. Anyway, there's plenty of hope for your ideas, you're just in the wrong …

I believe so, yes. Christians believe in sex within marriage and that it's OK, the problem with that is the amount of shame involved in even thinking about, much less desiring sex, before then. It's not possible to just turn off that deeply ingrained shame once you're married, even though you technically know its now ok, and that's why sex is a problem for many Christian wives. I also have a problem with the Christian definition of marriage and I think if that was broadened a bit it might help.

My parents I guess, though that was limited because they were pretty conservative. Idk I've pretty much ways know what I want and how I feel. My husband was a major slut though before me, talk about a hoe phase lol.

I love your idealism though and I agree with it. I don't think it's nessesary to have your heart broken or go through breakups or multiple relashionships. And I think hookup culture is super toxic, sex is meant to be emotional and spiritual even. However I'm also very sex positive and I don't think those things are mutually exclusive. Because while we have a very sexualized society we also have immense shame as a society around sex, because it's so commodified. I grew up in purity culture, and I…

I see how that was confusing, I'm saying no I didn't have a hoe phase or participate in hookup culture. I've been with one man. I believed in and wanted to wait till marriage. But...I was a horny teenager and I didn't make it that long, I probably would have ended up having a slutty phase had I not gotten extremely lucky and ended up falling in love and married to my first "hookup". So in retrospect I guess I can see both sides, even though I didn't sleep around.

I didn't have one. I kinda regret it sometimes, but on the whole I think it was a good choice. I'm overwhelmingly glad I stayed a virgin till 18. Wished it would have been longer in some ways, but you can only wait so long...anyway, overall I'd say those who skip the hoe phase will be glad they did. It's not nessesary. But it depends on what kind of marriage you end up in and if you're happy.

I've never been cold approached, at least not politely. I've been cat called a few times but I feel like that's different. So I don't know if I can say it's ever changed much. But for those who are saying it has changed I wonder if it's possible that THEY changed and therefore aren't getting asked out as much. Objectivity might be hard here.

Not shitting on it at all, I said we have the privilege to choose both in this society. We CAN, not we HAVE TO. I dont think theres a wrong choice in this department, theres just what makes you happy. For me personally, at this time in my life, it's a SAHM, but I've also gone to school to get my degree and maybe Ill work later. It's not a static thing, nor is it an identity, just a job choice.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/21 03:34 PM

Why not the best of both worlds? That's a privilege we have in western society. I am a SAHM, and all that...I am also a passionate, ambitious, educated woman, very much the intellectual equal of my husband. It is not one or the other, women are multifaceted, we can be both. This is something TRP seems to not understand. We can be mothers, and also sexual beings. We can prefer a submissive role while also being capable and driven. We can love to take care of our family and also be smart and well …

I, a young woman without kids, married a single dad. I wouldnt have purposely chosen that if I was making a list of things I wanted in a man, but it was something I could concede for love. I also love kids and thought his kid was awesome once I got to know him. My best friend at the time told me that I shouldnt date someone with kids and that only people with kids should date people with kids. I sort of rolled my eyes at the time but I agree with her now. I've been in a relationship with a 14 year age gap for 5 years (since I was 18), and I was not manipulated. Its insulting that people can think that. Not that it doesnt happen sometimes, but I think it's less than people imagine. I knew exactly what I wanted.

No idea, I havent had sex with enough people to be able to say. (One guy, and one girl. Made out with two other girls and one other guy though.) I wouldn't think that having sex would change attractiveness though? Not visually anyway, but how good they are in bed would definitely impact it. And like I said, chemistry, which is a pretty good indicator of how good the sex would be, I think.

Bi woman here, and I agree with OP, I see attractive women far more often than attractive men. And I think my sense of what's attractive is pretty standard to most people's, and science.

I think you may be on to something with regard to OLD, I do think guys have more of a chance IRL. But I also think girls should give them more of a chance before making snap judgements on appearence. I met my fiance online. I didn't immediately think he was gorgeous, but also guys take HORRIBLE selfies compared to women, which is also part of the issue lol. Anyway, we chatted and I agreed to meet up in order to give it a chance, with no expectations either way and here we are five years later an…

I agree, as a bi woman, I rarely see random guys I find attractive. There have been two or three I've seen on the street in the past few years that I've been like, wow I want his number. On the other hand, although I'm also fairly picky about girls, I see one every few times I go out that I'd consider dateable. This is based purely on looks though, but chemistry is a huge part of it for me and there have been several guys I didnt consider attractive at first that I did after getting to know them…

If we're including any fluid exchange, like kissing, it would be 5, because I did kiss another guy once. Also, with the girls, I'm never sure whether to count them because they were just making out. Sooo yeah, but my point was I thought I was pretty average or a bit high if we're including the girls, and I've only had the one bf. I cant imagine why they wouldnt believe you. They must be really promiscuous.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/21 05:50 AM

I dont see why they wouldnt, I would think that's a fairly average or even slightly high count? I would think a 20 year old would've had like one or maybe two boyfriends if I had to guess. I'm 22 and only have had one. Well, 3 including girls, I guess that counts as well. But I would assume that's pretty average no?

Like I said, I can only speak for myself. I'm not a man so I can't say what their experience is. I know men who are rarely rejected though, so it's certainly not universally true that they are constantly rejected. Especially attractive, confident ones... But I'm also an individualist, I dont think speaking "in general" is all that helpful to any given individual. I dont think I have any more to add to the conversation, if anything I said was helpful, great. And if not, you're free to have whatev…

Again, speaking just for me personally, although it probably applies to other women as well: I did not have enough self confidence to believe I was attractive. So I assumed no one was attracted to me unless they indicated otherwise. Were I to date again now, being older and having more confidence it might be different. I have never been good at being able to tell when someone is hitting on me though, and typically assume they arent attracted to me unless they say something.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/21 03:21 PM
5

No, because those traits arent biologically attractive. Now, there are always exceptions, some women wouldnt mind and I personally wouldnt consider them a deal breaker, but I am also shy and scared of rejection and I am also submissive so if a guy wasnt willing to take the lead in a relationship, it probably wouldnt be work for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/21 02:58 PM

Whatever works for you, if that works for you, go for it. But I'd say working on your confidence from that internal place (meaning external factors like rejection don't effect it) will be by far the most effective strategy. Women like confidence, they will perceive if you dont believe you'll succeed. This is why I think that attitude becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. This honestly applies to a lot of other things in life too. Also your attitude that women never, or rarely, experience rejection…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/21 02:45 PM

That is a problem and if a woman is like that then you dont want a relationship with her anyway. She didnt want you in the first place, just wanted the attention. Not to mention there will be communication issues if not outright manipulation in a relationship with a woman like that.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/21 03:25 AM
7

I would say that working on your confidence from an intrinsic place will actually help you to NOT be rejected as much. Assuming you'll be rejected will become a self fulfilling prophecy. No woman wants a man who doesnt think he deserves her. No matter your level of physical attractiveness, the way you carry yourself will add or subtract many points from it.

Exactly
/r/PurplePillDebate26/03/21 10:53 PM

I cant speak for all women, but here a guess: because we want to be wanted. Being desired is a huge turn on (given that we are attracted to the guy doing the desiring). So if a guy doesnt notice us/doesnt have the confidence to approach, we assume he isnt attracted to us enough to do so.

Used to be, objectively speaking, 6'4" green eyes, gorgeous dark hair, roguish smile. I say used to because he's put on some weight and women have definitely chased him less in the past couple years but I still think hes gorgeous because I'm far enough into the relationship to care about things other than looks.

This reasoning might hold true in some or a few cases. But what about deadbedrooms caused by men?

Wow that's sad. That's only a small part of your lives. What about the majority of your life, say from 30 to 70. Plus the 20s are usually full of raising kids and sex isnt great then anyway so if theres no hope later than that it's pretty bleak isnt it?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/21 04:51 PM

At 30-40-50? Wow, that's sad. I think of that happening by maybe 70 or 80.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/21 03:32 PM
3

Of course that's true, but OP mentioned 40 to 50 ranges and while that's not peak attractiveness it's still a time when you're likely to be healthy and active so hopefully you're not just tolerating at that point because if so why even get married? It kind of sounded like even 30 was pushing it for you and your fiance's already 30 and it's only the beginning if you're not even married yet. I would think that hopefully you can be genuinely attracted to her for another 20 years at least?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/21 04:42 AM

I mean, that's not unreasonable but it is still kind of sad dont you think? I hope my husband never feels like hes just "coping" with me.

What are you gonna do when your fiance (then wife) is a middle aged woman?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/21 02:56 AM

That makes sense, I guess I'm thinking if a woman has been in a relationship that was commited but she was too young or whatever, so let's say they grew apart, or they had kids and she stuck it through till they were older. And then she's 30 and single. Idk, things can happen even to supposedly great relationships, but I guess that would be more a rare case. I guess what I'm trying to say is a woman with a couple of long term relationships would be preferable in general, and not nessesarily less…

But you're talking about low n count women, not virgins, correct? A LTR can be great conditions to have lots of sex lol. Simply because it's with one person doesn't invalidate it. Now if we're talking about virgins that's a different story, absolutely being a virgin after a certain age is a red flag. I know from personal experience, I had every intention of remaining a virgin until marriage but I gave in at 18 because I was simply too horny to wait anymore, it is what it is. But I think that hav…

How does n count have anything to do with liking sex? It has more to do with how quickly you get bored of having sex with one person. Technically, a woman in a relationship could be having more and better sex than a woman who is just having random one night stands.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/21 05:37 AM

I think the red pill obsession with virgins/low n count women is more about evolution, not quality sex lol. They like to fuck sluts and marry virgins because sluts tend to be shitty ltr's (apparently). Its also an ego thing for some I think. I dont think any quality man really cares about if someones a virgin or not. And even the vast majority of red pillers care more about low n count than zero. Which I can get behind, but I know you cant because you have a completely different background and y…

Because they're attractive? Theres a reason they say 30 to 40 is a guys prime. Now, that's not every guy for sure, and the age gap relationships that really work (aside from fantasy) are rare. I dont think it can or should be the norm, that's delusional. But I personally have never been attracted to a guy my age, I remember at 14 I had a crush on a 24 year old, and being as sheltered as I was I had no idea the average person would consider that a problem. And I was sad I never caught his attenti…

Sorry I didnt see the notification for this comment till now. Heres the thing in my experience: I grew up amid purity culture where alot of guys were saving themselves on purpose or if they weren't virgins had at least only been in a committed relationship, so had never had a slut phase. Same with girls. Girls and guys with similar values and similar n count end up together. Values absolutely have an effect on n count. Now in other circles of society, in cities and whatnot I can see how low n co…

To be clear, I do fuck other women, just not men haha. Anyway, if an open relationship is something you want, then do research and bring it into the conversation early when you start dating someone. There are many quality women out there whod be open to it.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/20 02:37 AM

That's understandable, it can really be a growing experience though once you get past the fear of it. Does your partner also want to swing or just you? Realize that just because you do doesnt mean they have to. My husband has relationships with other women but I do not fuck other men. It's an agreement we have, which we'd renegotiate if I wanted to obviously. But just realize that theres more than one right way to do it, as long as everyone's happy.

I dont know that I could rationalize that completely. But for one thing, I'd had a pretty unique life and upbringing, and I never had alot in common with guys my age. I needed a man who was intellectually at least my equal if not superior and who I could truly respect, that was important to me. Sexually I wanted someone who knew what he was doing, who could teach me. It's just a kink of mine I guess. Oh juggling multiple emotional and romantic relationships definitely isnt for everyone aha. I would say its definitely tough for a "taken" guy to get women because society really really brainwashes insecurity into women, so most women are really afraid of other women displacing them in relationships. The average woman in my experience is incredibly insecure and that's why it's a problem imo. In my experience with poly most of the women my husband has dated have either been trying to take him awa…

I dont think it's as much a disadvantage for a man as for a woman, but like most subjects here it also depends very much on the individual. For me personally, I was looking for someone very experienced, but what I didnt consider was that with that "experience" could come trust issues and baggage so that's definitely something to look out for. As a woman with a 0 count, I also experienced some difficulty because those experienced men tended to be looking for more "equal" women and considered me n…

Idk I guess I thought I was too unrelateable/inexperienced to be desirable. Like, all the guys I had crushes on didnt seem to know I existed. I also look alot younger than I am, so in retrospect that could be part of it. They probably just didnt think I would be interested and I took that as rejection because I'm not very forward. I was desperate to get away from the good girl stereotype and I refused to lose my virginity to another virgin. Ideally I did want to wait for marriage but I also want…

I honestly don't comment here much because of the general pessimism about women. It's good to see a balanced perspective every now and then...(the older I get though and the more I know about the world, the more I sympathize with people who dont think good women exist, we seem to be few and far between.)
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/20 01:21 AM

I think it's on such an individual basis for guys, you cant really get a good idea from a collective like this, everyone is going to be different. I was raised conservative Christian so I was very conditioned to believe that if I slept with a guy before marriage he would automatically see me as a slut and dump me. However, as a finally autonomous 18 year old who was very curious about kink and had a thing for older guys, my horniness definitely overrided that belief. I also had it in my head tha…

I found it. They exist. I got lucky I guess, looking back I could have gotten myself into all kind of trouble as a horny 18 year old virgin lol. But I found a good man so I never had a bad experience. They exist but you cant be naive, they dont grow on trees.

Link to studies proving this. It really is something people seem to think but it has not been so in my experience nor in that of several good friends I have who are much older and have a much wider experience. Maybe it should be, biologically, but in the real world many women have a much higher sex drive than men seem to think. Also, as I said above, we are conditioned to think it is and should be the case that women dont want much sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/20 11:12 PM

There arent many of those in my experience either, I am all those things you describe (not trying to brag, honestly) so naturally I assumed most other women are the same, but the older I get the more I realize most women either have sexual hangups or are sluts. Theres not much in between. I have reasons for believing both of those things are caused by social conditioning and not inherent to womankind. That's just my opinion though. I think in general, like I've said, most women want more sex tha…

Fair enough, but that was just an example. I think women in general want more sex than men in general think the hypothetical woman wants.

I believe that's also true, womens sex drives are a bit more nuanced and definitely effected by the environment. But men's can be too, for instance, I've noticed stress is a major factor for my husband. Whereas I see sex as a good stress relief so tend to actually have more drive when I'm stressed. But it really is down to the individual too, everyone within a gender is different as well. Some women have freakish sex drives and some have none. What all the factors influencing that are I dont kno…

Equal importance; and the reason I say that is because if I met said hypothetical man (back when I was single of course) and he was rich, but there was no physical chemistry I would not pursue the relationship. If there was physical chemistry but he was not in a place career wise to meet my minimum requirements of monetary stability, it would also be a no. Well, I wouldnt say I waited for "moral reasons" I guess. I mean, my upbringing was very conservative, very fundamentalist, very sheltered and isolated even. So my conditioning was definitely to wait for moral reasons. But my personal reasons were a bit more nuanced.
