Is there any particular reason you feel like you must rush the process? Anxiety at not being seen a certain way, not having met a certain benchmark you set for yourself, etc? For me, at least, much of the tension came from the fact that, after breaking up with my ex, I was eager to get back into the dating market and find someone better. And, as a virgin, I was also eager to finally gain experiences I felt like I was missing out on throughout college. However, I was obviously unsuccessful, and b…

The way you present yourself is a reflection of the way you think of yourself. If you think of yourself highly, then people will see you more positively and want to be around you more. It's good you're going to therapy, but another thing I would suggest is to gradually expose yourself more to social situations. I used to think I was the absolute bottom of the barrel when it came to social situations, but when I started going out more, meeting more people, and "practicing" socializing, I started …

You could feel grounded while not having showered for a week or having stayed home playing video games all day. Extreme examples, but one should feel grounded because they have built a foundation, not just because they are satisfied with where they are standing.

It can, but my point is more so that it in itself is more so a "presentation tool" than an actual thing to be presented. A good analogy would be a chemical reaction. If you add a catalyst, then the reaction is more likely to happen and can occur faster. However, no matter how much of the catalyst you add, if you don't have enough of the original ingredients/reactants for the reaction, the catalyst doesn't matter at all. I agree the shy guy may have more opportunities if he becomes confident, but…

I don't actually believe in dating being a numbers game lol, the numbers were just used to illustrate the point. Obviously the goal is a lasting, fun, relationship, but it's obviously not going to happen with everyone you meet and/or date. Hence the idea that "success" comes from finding that one person (or a few people) with whom you can do that. The ideal situation is to be able to exercise some choice over your dating life so you don't just go for whoever is there, but are able to sift throug…

I think the idea of "saving up your seed" is an ancient population-increasing tactic. If you discourage masturbation, you encourage people to have more sex, and increase the population in that way. A lot of ancient society and culture (fertility gods/goddesses, etc) revolved around making sure that everyone reproduced as much as possible because not everyone survived to adulthood

whoops, didn't see your post lol. I think the point is that confidence serves to amplify already existing attractive traits (a talent, attractiveness, etc). It presupposes that there is something attractive about you (looks, humor, personality, etc) that can be shown more easily with confidence. If you don't have confidence, you should develop it for your own self-esteem/well-being, but if you already have a good self esteem, you can focus on achieving goals and being "attractive" (not just in a…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
