No one is capable of loving indefinitely. That is a matter of personal opinion, it can't be proven and there isn't merit as far as the science goes, 10% of couples never even leave the serotonin-fueled infatuation stage of romantic love even after decades, per neurological data: https://hms.harvard.edu/news-events/publications-archive/brain/love-brain. I would also argue that it's projection from someone who themselves is not capable of enduring love.

As u/kblknl165 said, why would you look at just men on campus instead of all men? When I was in college, I had a boyfriend who was working full-time, physical labour, and drove a pickup, he wasn't in school. Would he not count as man? Lol

Men aren’t forcing women to get pregnant This isn't true, some of these opioidhead hick states have said that girls who are molested and women who are raped must carry to term. This is the literal definition of "forcing women to get pregnant." but often mothers force their son to get genital mutilation. And this is wrong. Two wrongs don't make a right. But the point of my initial comment that you responded to was to illustrate that US men no longer have grounds to protest their involuntary gende…

And let me be clear: I don't mean to trivialize that concern. I do sympathize as a childfree woman. I don't think it's fair but in the current paradigm where we don't have extensive social welfare, paid daycare paid maternity leave, etc. it's like the only recourse. It's the lazy way to do things, rather than the fair way. "We can just make it equally unfair for everyone!"

... because only women are capable of loving someone indefinitely? Quite the misandrist claim there, Sir.

Also, the sex ratio for the country overall is 1.07 (21,438,129 men to 20,002,173 women). So it appears it gets increasingly more male overtime, probably women fleeing or killing themselves. https://countrymeters.info/en/Afghanistan

6% more men than women isn't "one of the most equal sex ratios in the world," it's slightly more male than would be expected at birth. Means girls are getting aborted. https://tradingeconomics.com/afghanistan/sex-ratio-at-birth-male-births-per-female-births-wb-data.html

Saudi Arabia has 37% more men than women, and I highly doubt the women there who only recently got the right to drive were polled in significant numbers. But if the country with one of the largest male sex ratios in the world is so happy then maybe what you guys need is fewer women and more inceldom. Patriarchies always get what they ask for, which is less clam, more sausage.

No, wrong again. There are three stages of love: lust, infatuation, and attachment, and they are all governed by different neurochemicals. The attachment stage is governed by oxytocin and it can indeed be reinforced indefinitely. Brain scans show this. Source: Why We Love by Helen Fisher.

The data is from the GSS, the exact same source as the 2018 data cited in this post, so what makes the General Social Survey reliable in 2018 but not in 2021? 5 more people polled in 2018?

Men are less celibate than women here too: https://ifstudies.org/blog/more-faith-less-sex-why-are-so-many-unmarried-young-adults-not-having-sex

A lot of women don't want sex, they want a relationship. Since the number of men willing to offer something more than fuck buddies/pump and dump is lower than the number of women wanting an actual partner who respects them, loves them, and treats them like an equal, a lot of women just decide to not bother. Not having sex is only a crisis to men, lol.

/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 12:55 PM

No, you reinforce oxytocin with consistent physical affection and cuddling, as well as sex. That's very wrong, what you said. The chemicals can die off if one disgusts the other so much with their behaviour that they don't feel like touching or cuddling with them.

We should definitely take your word for it. Look at how well you treat the women in your countries! /s
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 12:38 PM

It's not the same because women are the ones who risk their lives with pregnancy, not men. Men could never be forced to deal with a pregnancy. A more fitting analogy would be, now American men deserve to be the only ones subject to the draft. You shouldn't have a say in whether your life is at risk because of your gender, like you said.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 12:22 PM

How are you slapping liberals across the face? Blue states continue to have legal abortion, all you get are a few more dead wives and teenage girls, and a few more smart girls choosing college out of state specifically to get out of your shithole. Fewer women and girls and more sausage. That's a self-own.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 12:20 PM

Dumb take. Banning abortions doesn't stop abortion, it just kills more of your women, both from unsafe abortions and from suicide.

There won't be a civil war. America will just continue to culturally converge with Mexico as it's been doing for decades.

They can be shitty for other reasons, but their stance on abortions are not one of them. More expert insight from the political analyst, lol. Yes, the values and laws of the population have nothing to do with the outcomes of said country. Totally a coincidence. I'd actually argue it's the inverse. Stupid people endorse stupid laws. It's pretty easy, if one has a functional IQ, to extract how having children when you're a teenager and did not complete your formal education or become a skilled wor…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 06:02 AM

So by this logic, Congo, El Salvador, Iran and Brazil are just the safest places for the kids, because they practise their right to have 20,000 women a year die of backalley abortions. Clearly, places are paradise when people are surrounded by neighbours like you instead, who don't believe in human rights for half the population. So much better outcomes, just look at those life expectancies! It's a good thing we have civilized high-IQ people like you and the Afghanis to tell us what's what.

Why not Afghanistan? I hear that's nice this time of year. Why not Congo? https://reproductiverights.org/maps/worlds-abortion-laws/ Every low-income nation with a crime problem on the planet outlaws abortion. I'm sure that's just a coincidence, though. 👀 There's plenty of places for you to choose where the people share your values. Pick any place with a median IQ below 95 and you'll be fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 05:26 AM
2

I know blue states pretty much exclusively contain the high-IQ citizens with postsecondary education, so perhaps they tend to take for granted that the opioidheads will be able to identify that someone walking around with a backpack on going to school is an actual child, and treat that almost like it has some sort of distinction? Vis-a-vis something that a curry could eject into a toilet.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 05:20 AM

Relax! I was referring to the inkwell you were talking to. I know everyone's a little on-edge today and for good reason, but honestly, maybe it's time for bed? I mean, what is gained from continuing to argue with an inkwell? It just wants to broadcast why it is single and will remain that way.

/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 04:49 AM

It would be called a logical fallacy, not a genetic one (lmfao), and it's not. It's a direct question: in what way does your position on abortion differ from the original slave owners? They too agreed that women should be forced to carry rape babies.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 04:47 AM

I definitely take my moral advice from people who have the same position on women's rights as Puritans and the slave owners of 1800.

Or they could just move to places with smarter men who don't say you have to be enslaved if you get raped. Bonus points are that those men also live longer and are less likely to be obese. Far more chads in places with fewer right-wing men.

Nah, sexist men have been getting more outspoken/whinier with their worthless opinions for awhile now. Inkwells join the movement as young as 14, make themselves unlovable as young as 14. They then settle down with each other through monitors and video games. Why do you think Gen Z has the largest number of self-identified bisexual/lesbian women, a full 1/3rd? It's for the best. At least those numbers will be going up now!

Especially before they're 39, desperate, and on their last egg! /r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 02:50 AM

Okay, having more empathy for a clump of cells than a living breathing adult woman. Gosh, such a mystery why living breathing adult women would not choose to settle down with such men and only do so when they are truly desperate and on their very last egg around age 39! If only there was some way to decipher the aversion? Truly one of life's great mysteries!

If it was known this would not be the case in the next few months or especially weeks, they wouldnt pull that plug. It's not like the Supreme Court has any neurologists, doctors or gynecologists on it? It's just as true as it was two months ago, it's just that America is actively Mexico now, with its corresponding embrace of huge regional disparities in laws.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 02:21 AM
2

No, the legal principle is sentience/brain death. If there is no consciousness and the person has no awareness that they are alive/ability to feel pain/active brain waves, they can't be said to be truly alive. That's the legal precedent. I understand de-industrializing countries with declining life expectancies like America's don't recognize or adhere to those anymore lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 02:16 AM
2

No it's not lol. It's literally the same legal principle that allows doctors to take people off life support.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 02:10 AM
5

And? What's your point?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 02:09 AM
3

I haven't seen anyone today saying only poor women will get abortions. It's literally the opposite lol. Women on welfare are the ones who can't afford to book a flight and hotel room out of state. Same goes for the active and IV drug users, planning ahead tends not to be their strong suit so they won't be getting abortions. That being said, middle-class women will likely be getting their abortions in the mail.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 02:07 AM
1

Legally it is typically tied to sentience and viability, but it's kind of a moot point as they all tend to converge at the same timepoint in-utero.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 02:04 AM
1

I think they find them useful.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 02:03 AM

I think if she were younger and the statistical differences between the two states were stark, he would rather stay where he's culturally comfortable and can shoot his guns than move where his daughter is less likely to die, even if it meant she'd be less likely to die in a school shooting too, he still wouldn't leave.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 01:39 AM
0

I don't see a logical reason to do so; current neurological research shows that fetuses do not have the necessary cerebral cortex and insular cortex development to perceive pain until 24 weeks. It's a rather arbitrary cutoff. 20 weeks seems more logical to me but admittedly that's pretty arbitrary as well. It's just a comfortable enough time period away from possible sentience.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 01:37 AM
2

And upwards of 90% of abortions take place within 12 weeks.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 01:32 AM

I think the latter. They hate their daughters, or are at best indifferent to their well-being.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 01:30 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 12:40 AM

Well, they are choosing more violent methods now, and will be doing so even more often going forward. Nobody asks to be born, and if a girl can't even decide her own future, who could blame her for just checking out early? Sad, but understandable.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 12:39 AM

The point was right there in the first paragraph, had you bothered to read. "On a somewhat related note, when do we finally admit that America is culturally closer to Latin American societies than Anglo societies? I don't think that culturally, America is really similar to a western nation anymore. Maybe Eastern European or Mexican?" And sure, it makes perfect sense if you're culturally more Latin-American than English, which it sounds like you are.

Wrong, and wrong
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 12:30 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 12:28 AM

I mean, it's not that unique. It's increasingly governing the same way as Mexico does. A reversal from historical norms.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 12:27 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 12:03 AM

You don't know that. And even if it was, anyone who wants women to end up as collateral damage hates women, it's that simple.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 11:55 PM
1

But they do hate women. They all have the same arguments about how women need to be punished with unwanted pregnancies for having sex. And if a few little molested girls, raped women, or women with ectopic pregnancies which could be fatal get caught in the crossfires, so be it. It's not hyperbolic to call woman-haters what they objectively are.

/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 11:47 PM

I know that red state-dwelling males generally understand logistics and things like that, they're pretty simple, but I imagine that's the sort of program and application process that would take some time to implement.

I read it like 9 years ago and I conflate marriage and motherhood in my mind, I suppose. But that's obviously not what one should do especially when it comes to Americans. They love their unwed moms and as these laws show they want more.

/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 08:53 PM

In 2011, the majority of US women who had abortions were in fact, married. With a take like this, I'm going to go ahead and guess that you must be one of the 60% of Americans who doesn't own a passport?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 08:52 PM

I think they're already doing things like offering to pay for hotel costs in some cases, but that's magnanimous of them as it's not their job. I mean really, red states should raise and pay for their own opioidheads and relocate their own miserable daughters. But, being welfare cases and all, they can't afford it.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 08:44 PM

I don't know what you're talking about. I'm just pointing out that these redneck opioidheads are so ridiculously retarded and obsessed with fetuses that they would jail a woman who just survived a suicide attempt.

The purpose of America now is to make people in other countries dealing with housing crises' nevertheless feel smug. "Oh. Maybe that's why it costs so much to live here.... because we're not a backwards, second-world country."

Canada has uniform laws through the country. America has regional laws, like Mexico does. America is closer in median life expectancy and legal norms to second-world countries than actual developed ones.

You don't know what you're talking about or what American women are dealing with. They have mentally handicapped people in office. This man said you can just put the ectopic pregnancy into the uterus: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/nov/29/ohio-extreme-abortion-bill-reimplant-ectopic-pregnancy This is not medically possible. That's the level of inbreeding that's in office in these opioidhead states.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 08:10 PM

"some risk involved" only a man would say this lol you risk nothing but a few bucks from your wallet. Women risk dying from an ectopic pregnancy. This is a spectacularly stupid comment, no offense.

The first American female slaves also had to carry rape babies to term so I mean, I don't see how the redneck opioidheads applauding this have different values than the trash they descended from tbh.

Let me rephrase. The number of dead bedroom marriages in the redneck, bible-thumping, sister-fucking opioidhead states are about to go way, way up. Hope this clarifies. 🙂

A much huger number of women are going to go on hormonal contraceptives and not all of them are going to be willing to take DHEA to preserve their sex drives like I do. A lot more women are going to be just fine with no sex going forward.

Nah, places with free healthcare don't have men stupid enough to vote in more crime and higher healthcare costs. You don't see any first-world places with free healthcare passing these kinds of laws because they know it's expensive. Only the third-world countries and states, like yours.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 04:03 PM

And I just like making fun of how stupid a lot of US men are. Few men are dumb enough to vote themselves in more crime and more prime-aged women dying. I'm thinking lead poisoning is the problem.

/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 03:51 PM

And they can do all that in blue states which have smarter men.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 03:48 PM

I guess it's a good thing you will have fewer "dumb women" around to bother you since they will prefer places where medical matters are left to doctors and not idiot old men who think you can reimplant an ectopic pregnancy and don't understand what "medically impossible" means. You will get to have your incel paradise all to yourselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 03:47 PM

Ironically, it was too many men's wives dying for reasons like this in the 50s that led to a push to change the laws coming from a large swathe of men. But Republicans are too strung out on heroin, they don't remember these things.

Which in no way refutes my question. It's a 6-year difference and that is the median life expectancy difference between first-world countries (median life expectancy 81, closer to 82), and the majority of the shithole states, which drag the US median life expectancy down to 76, on par with Cuba and lower than Costa Rica. These states that are adopting third-world laws are closer to Eastern Europe on key metrics than western nations and highly-developed nations like Singapore and Japan. They are …

So why don't the women in Arkansas live into their 80s? https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/sosmap/life_expectancy/life_expectancy.htm It has 97 men to 100 women, yet still has a shithole life expectancy and the third-world abortion laws to match now. 🙃
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 03:25 PM
1

I'd say the biggest difference is it's not 50% of the teens on heroin like was found in Youngstown, Ohio at one point. Which is why New York's life expectancy continued to climb, and shitholes where literally half the population is on heroin had theirs go into freefall. But I mean, if that doesn't bother you, you could always vote with your feet and go live among likeminded people? I hear West Virginia is nice this time of year. 😏
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 03:20 PM
1

Most of the states that are instituting slavery have huge opioid problems and have life expectancies below 80 years old. I hardly think shithole residents are in any position to be speaking on what a shit quality of life is. Maybe they should worry about their fentanyl-addicted kids floating facedown in the water and the 4-year-olds accidentally shooting their siblings with the guns they leave lying around the kitchen.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 03:14 PM
1

In every single one of those scenarios, you would be better off in a state that taxes citizens enough to pay for social programs. And the idea is to get out immediately before you're dealing with an unwanted pregnancy, especially since these third-world states have brought back slavery, making it so even a raped woman has to carry a pregnancy to term. One dealing with any sort of disability cannot defend herself and is essentially a sitting duck. When it's life or death, you run.

Modern men and women both aren’t doing well, it’s not a contest. I think this is an oversimplification. They are doing well in specific contexts. The happiest country in the world is Norway. It's also #1 in HDI for several years running. Canada, my country, was no. 1 as recently as 1998, and is not even in the top 10 anymore, keeps sliding down the list. I think for a lot of people in formerly-rich countries, their standard of living has objectively declined. Where we differ is that I think this…

As much as I think an 11-year-old study of less than 900 people doesn't have a lot of credibility on its face, I can see how being a doctor or lawyer who makes less than six figures/less than they should and that their male colleagues likely do could make a woman unhappy, sure. The answer is not to stop having children. I mean, it's easy to say that if you're a man, and you neither bear the physical risks of childbirth, nor the social risks (ending up as an impoverished single mom, spat on by so…

Some women love having children and don’t view it as such a horrible thing. Right, but we are speaking in generalities, right? /r/PurplePillDebate23/06/22 02:04 PM

Imo, women only have it better by most metrics in a very specific context: they live in a western country and don't ever have any kids, or they live in Finland, period. They can be mothers there and still have it good. Biologically though, they're still screwed and will experience more physical pain and fewer career options their whole lives as a result of less upper-body strength. That's true everywhere.

So an interesting point. Divorce is pretty much verboten in China and India, and in India, suicide is the leading cause of death for women and China is the only country in the world where women commit more than men. Seems to suggest the right to choose one's husband and the right to leave a terrible marriage, legally AND culturally, is a central tenet of feminism, or should be.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/22 01:25 PM

How would you feel if misogynists claimed certain things about women based on their perspective of biology? Phrased as though this doesn't happen every single day as a woman on reddit. 🤨
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/22 01:18 PM

specially because your argument implies that women are forbidden from gun ownership ... I'm really not sure how you came to make such a ridiculously giant leap. Women are not prohibited from ownership, but they may be less inclined to procure a weapon, likely for biological reasons. And prescence of a weapon in a household has been linked to higher suicide rates in men and higher domestic homicides/murders of women, statistically.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/22 01:11 PM

I appreciate the reference and I will look into the writer you suggest. Can you please provide a link to your earlier comment where you say you address it? No one is saying men have it worse! Not explicitly, but when I post an article stipulating that 80% of suicide attempts in Afghanistan are made by women and a user responds with "men commit more there too," which just happened, yes, they are saying that and turning it into a pissing contest. If you're not, you can only speak for yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/22 12:02 PM
1

Men kill themselves at a higher rate than women in those nations. And the only reason you ignore the number of attempts is because you are trying to make some point about how men have it worse in a country where 80% of attempts are done by women. But the fact that they have more successful completions is only proof that being generally more impulsive, they choose quicker, more violent methods when they do attempt. Like a gun to the head in the middle of an argument.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/22 12:01 PM

Now you're being disingenuous. Men here on this thread wanted to emphasize the number of successfully completed suicides (ignoring the number of attempts) specifically to make a point about how men have it worse. My only point was that men having a higher number of successfully completed suicides is not proof that men have it worse everywhere on the planet, which is what that guy FFTzzz was inferring, but that men are more impulsive when they go about it, choosing quick and more violent methods,…

Based on what evidence? The fact that 80% of suicide attempts in Afghanistan are made by women: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-44370711.amp India has 40% of the world's female suicides, etc. and these countries are notoriously not good for women. I believe that Germany does a pretty good job of providing for mental health given that 88% of the population has mental health coverage included in their health plan. Do you consider yourself a feminist? I do.

Whether society or biology is to blame like you claim, it’s a societal issue that must be addressed. On that we can agree. The issue as I foresee it is many individuals do not want their rights infringed upon, and would find methods to bring down the rate unsavoury, even if it could be definitively proven that such methods would drive down rates. For example, do we ban gun ownership in the US to drive down rates, if it makes men unhappy, if it can be proven it would save midwestern male lives? D…

The variability of culture has a greater effect on women. There is a reason why Indian women have the highest female suicide rate in the world, and Chinese women commit more than Chinese men. For men, the overwhelming evidence suggests that they will tend commit more often than women no matter how much the society is catered to their particular sensibilities, and all you can do is look at ways to drive the overall rates down.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/22 11:36 AM

I don't doubt that, but these guys are basically trying to argue that every other country prizes women's mental health and that's why the men there are more likely to commit suicide than the women. To me, that is laughable.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/22 11:30 AM
1

It’s not biological, it’s societal and cultural. Sorry, but I don't believe that every society and culture in the world is bad for men in the exact same ways, which is what you must believe to think this is more credible than testosterone increasing impulsivity.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/22 11:27 AM
2

To hear the men here tell it, lack of care for mental health is the only reason that men commit suicide in larger numbers than women basically everywhere in the world and biology has nothing to do with it, so with their logic in mind that must mean China is great for men's mental health, rather than the likelier explanation that China is just particularly bad for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/22 11:25 AM

Oh so again it’s other men’s fault for men committing suicide? No, biology is nobody's fault.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/22 11:19 AM

It's the opposite. You guys are the ones who keep @'ing me trying to convince me that biologically greater impulsivity is not a factor in men having higher suicide rates, and continue arguing because you can't change my mind and control me.

I mean, patriarchy is miserable for people in general to live under, I agree. But the society is still catered to men's religious and patriarchal sensibilities, women didn't even get the right to legally drive there until 5 years ago. Many conservative western men say they want to take away women's rights as if that would be a panacea for them. Well, when they get their way, they still commit suicide.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/22 11:11 AM

It can still be an impulsive decision as a result of feeling an intense and overwhelming but temporary sadness. I agree that mental health care would help, but it would not change the fact that more men will commit, because there are physiological reasons for this. That doesn't mean it's not worthwhile to try and bring the rate down, but you have to understand that men themselves will be more likely to fight some of the methods on principle (muh gun rights!) And ultimately, most male suicides ar…

impulsivity and testosterone are not the only reasons for suicide. Nor did I say they were. They are, however, the reason men will always commit suicide more often than women, even in countries where women also have to do military service by law.

Men in the Midwest are more likely to be married and less likely to be divorced than men in many other states, but are still likelier to commit suicide. Why? As a follow-up to my last comment, incidentally, Israel did partially ban men from having guns, and their suicide rate did come down: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21034205/ It's not "victim-blaming," it's just reality. Men are more likely to commit suicide for the exact same reason they are more likely to commit violent crime: testosterone.

So what of the several men cited in the article who were arguing with other men when they impulsively shot themselves? And black and Hispanic men rarely argue with a woman? Because they commit suicide a lot less, in the United States. Like I said, there are factors. Gun ownership is one, a history of military service is also one, but physiology/testosterone levels are another. Men will always have higher levels, and thus be more impulsive to act. As I said, men are more impulsive than women in all countries in the world. Physiological reasons for that as well. Like the man in this article, who shot himself in the head in the middle of a debate with his buddy because he was drunk and frustrated: https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-features/suicide-rate-america-white-men-841576/ Few women would do that.

Both genders of that ethnicity have higher rates of heart disease, likely for physiological reasons, outside of India as well: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/12/well/live/why-do-south-asians-have-such-high-rates-of-heart-disease.html But only one of them has extremely high rates of suicide only while they're living within that country. I walked up to a guy sitting alone just before I got off at my stop on the subway, and handed him my hastily scrawled number on a piece of paper that said, "Text me if single." I prefer being the one to make the first move, so bumble sounded like the most genius thing ever to me when it first came out.

But why would you play Devil's Advocate with what I stated was my own personal relief in not settling? Divorce is extremely taboo in China, I'm sure loveless marriages are commonplace, and I don't envy that either, just like I don't envy women who settled out of desperation to have babies. To me, marital satisfaction is a much more meaningful indicator. I'm not looking at couples who feel stuck with each other as aspirational.

Or you could be bound to stay married. 🤷 Which doesn't change the fact that you're a liar if you're living a lie 🤷🏽‍♀️ You’d be surprised how well some people can live with huge lies like these. No, because they are not married. They are honest about what they are looking for and if they're not sure of what that is, they are honest about that too. If they want to sleep with someone else and they have a boyfriend, they break up with him, then go sleep with someone else. You have to be pretty feral and primitive to not be able to control yourself long enough to initiate a breakup, and you have to be pretty selfish/cowardly/have little conscience to lie to someone's face everyday. I actually picture a man using that phrase. Not that it's correct or they're telling the truth; the men with the highest infidelity rates are boomers and they're usually paying for it. They are also famed for going to Thailand and engaging in sex tourism. The rates don't have to be equal, and men's higher self-reported marital rate can definitely be explained (cheating with younger, unmarried women, often but not always sex workers).
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 02:42 PM

Another one making assertions with no evidence, lol. Your response here lies on the premise that the guy saying 95% of marriages are dead bedrooms is factually correct about anything. Um... let's just say I don't believe that's the case.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 02:40 PM

I think it's actually the exact opposite, lol. I think we would find out that men cheat a lot more often with sex workers than we think. For example, when the data leak happened, we found out that not only were almost all the people on Ashley Madison men, but that a huge percentage of the women on Ashley Madison were in fact escorts. That's how the Duggar husband got caught!

It's not ridiculous. You are discounting decades of hard data which takes the whole population into account because for some odd reason your mother tended to befriend wh0res too cowardly to break up with their partners before starting new relationships. That's a bit ridiculous, but I understand how we are all products of our own upbringing and what we've seen so I'm not judging. Just pointing out that you may not be very objective on this.

I absolutely do. The highest percentage I've seen from any credible study was 19% for women, but that was including non-marital relationships as well. I don't know any women who cheat on their partners because I tend not to hang out with trash.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 01:44 PM

The number of women who cheat while married is 14%, about 1 in 6. If the numbers are a lot greater in your mother's circle, it's probably self-selection; my guess is that there is very little marriage and a lot of out-of-wedlock births that happen in your particular community. And perhaps they also have not heard of condoms.

The question “have you ever cheated in your 72 years of life” Has an answer to it, and it's highest in this age bracket (boomers) for males: 28%. They typically do take these things into account, you just don't know what you're talking about and are projecting based on what is probably your own truth.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/22 11:50 AM

I said that those who think a majority of other people are cheating right now in this context, and we just don't know about it/have any evidence (literally, we don't have any evidence that suggests this, not studies nor self-reported data) think this way because it's what they are doing. But who knows? Maybe that's acceptable in their culture.

No, the one that comes to mind from iVillage/NBC News with 70k respondents has percentages very much in line with the numbers of the National Science Foundation's General Social Survey, which is widely believed to be very accurate as it has more than 40 years of precedent to call upon. But it depends on where you live. Numbers are as high as 50% or higher in France, for example, and affairs are seen as widely acceptable, so culture matters here. first people that people lie to are themselves Yes…

Strongly disagree. We have had surveys online that are completely anonymous and we don't get self-reported infidelity rates anywhere near that high. Most people have a conscience and can't stomach living a lie. Those comfortable lying tend to project.

This was brutal to read tbh. I mean, my boyfriend was single for a long time when we got together, and I consider him to be an amazing catch. I'm grateful every single day that I had the good luck to choose him and that he was available. He was low income for most of his 20s, that's true. But that didn't make him a bad person or bad catch. And he's not low-income anymore.

And what I'm saying is that's it's never going to happen. Openly not trusting your partner while they are in a state of extreme vulnerability that requires extreme trust and having an insecure attachment style will always be seen as less attractive or more repulsive than having a secure attachment style, just like polyamorists will always face more stigma than monogamists and overweight people will always face more stigma than non-overweight people. Reality exists.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/22 06:59 PM

But per your own words, the chances are significantly lower if the child is very young, under six months. If you want kids that badly but don't want your spouse to hate you by asking while she's pregnant, it's a compromise you can make. Saying it's possible to make being distrustful of your partner not be seen as a bad thing is like saying you can "dismantle the stigma" of cheating. It's never going to happen, dude. Work within the parameters of reality.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/22 06:55 PM
1

Well that's why I suggested doing it without her consent, when the infant is an infant, within the first two weeks after birth. If you can't get any alone time with your own newborn, there's a larger issue there, I think, of mutual distrust. Perhaps neither party should be having kids, then.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/22 06:10 PM

Well let me ask you this: is there a requirement for the mother's consent to extract DNA from the birthed offspring? I haven't heard of this being a prerequisite to testing. So with that being the case, perhaps to alleviate your anxiety, you could pluck a hair from the child's head or swirl a q-tip around in its nose within the first two weeks of its birth to test for paternity. And then as you said, if the test comes back negative, the likelihood you will be extremely attached or have to pay ch…

/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/22 05:37 PM

But I mean, asking for the test while she is pregnant does come from a place of distrust, though. I can fully acknowledge that I have an anxious attachment style and it may not be completely my fault that I can't fully trust, but that doesn't change the fact that distrust is what it is. How can you demand complete honesty and trust from a partner enough for her to birth your child, but not be able to even be honest with yourself?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/22 05:34 PM

As for whether she'd have to pay child support, that's another issue, and chances are she won't. I mean, respectfully, I've seen no evidence for this. I have seen evidence of the opposite though, where a woman who was raped had to pay child support to her rapist: https://www.yourtango.com/news/rape-victim-ordered-pay-child-support-her-abuser. As for vasectomies, My uncle and countless other men were refused vasectomies by their doctors in case their wives wanted children. This happens to women as well, and in fact more frequently than it happens to men, both because of misogyny and because surgical sterilization for women is a more invasive and less reversible procedure than vasectomy is. It is possible to find males who were granted vasectomies in their mid-20s. For women who are nulliparous/have not already given birth it's almost …

Well the problem with that of course is that "a good heart" can't necessarily be quantified but things like income and having a degree can be. Okay, well that test exists and yet men still worry about things like n-count right? Which according to this gentleman stems from "paternity anxiety" as well. Sure, I'd commit to a relationship, because that's a level of vulnerability I'm comfortable with. If it ended I think there's a chance I could recover. But with the relationship ending and me being a single mom, that would make me vulnerable to suicide. So I would commit to a relationship only insofar as no children were involved. I'm not …

Anyway, your explanation did help me understand a little bit of men's motivations with this stuff. Men who are worried about sexual history and want paternity tests and stuff are looking for certainty. A certainty that can really only be had by not rolling the dice on certain things in the first place. I guess I can relate to that to some degree. I can relate to this "back of my head," thing a lot, but the thing is that that's very much a product of an attachment style, specifically an anxious attachment style. And what you have to understand is that not every person has that attachment style. Some people are securely attached and aren't burdened with these kinds of anxieties. So it's not necessarily wrong for someone else to prefer that type of person to someone with our attachment style.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/22 03:01 PM

I sympathize a little bit as an anxiously attached individual (more securely attached now than before, but that element will always be there for me, I think, and I think it just stems from betrayal from my earliest caregivers). But at the same time, I can understand why someone else would not want to be with an anxiously attached, slightly mistrustful or clingy person, even if I am one myself. So I sympathize with "society" in that sense, too.

I mean, it just comes down to faith, I suppose. There is sort of an expectation or underlying belief that if you work on yourself, you will eventually have options and find a woman who vies to be with you. If you fundamentally don't believe that to be true, then I suppose I could see how a guy would be demotivated. There is at least some evidence that this is still true though, even if a guy believes it is less true than before. Like for example, men who say they have a degree on their profile s…

I mean men who want to do nothing around the house but put everything on the woman when they get into a relationship like to cite that extremely out of date study. Men don't have to put effort in if they don't want to, but they individually are probably not going to see good results from that. I know I'd be having less sex than I do now if I was doing all the housework, because I'd be way more tired.

If most men are failing at the "application" of a philosophy, perhaps the philosophy itself is toxic and it's harmful to embrace it?

I hate men based on the fact that I pointed out that the majority of red pillers are angry single men, a fact which you agreed with lol. Speaking of baseless accusations. TRP is clearly misogynistic. Recognizing misogyny exists within a particular group of men doesn't automatically make one a man-hater of all men. Why marry a woman if you think they're all the same?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/22 12:52 PM

And you can also find hundreds of men who said TRP turned them into an incel and made their women dump them over at exredpill, so. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I just feel bad for you. Something clearly went very wrong with your marriage if you think "women marry the beta bucks" and "you have to manipulate your woman with 'dread' in order for her to want to have sex with you" coming from angry single men and divorced men sounded like credible arguments to you. She probably cheated.

And this sounds like deflection about the poor state of your marriage.

No offense but if you agree with the RP, a community where the vast majority of your peers are angry single men, it's probably because your relationship is really unhealthy. You shouldn't have to manipulate your partner to maintain their attraction and if you think you were chosen as a beta bucks, well, yikes.

Yes, that thought occurred to me too. I could understand it perhaps in an ancient context, but nowadays couldn't you just paternity test the offspring?

As I am childfree, I really can't say it's something I can really sympathize with as I fundamentally don't understand people who are desperate to reproduce. I don't know what it's like to have that feeling, although I'm sure there are women who are desperate to become mothers who can better relate. I value monogamy for other reasons, and have been monogamous for 7 years. I think relationships are just healthier and a lot likelier to be free of drama when you don't invite outside partners to inva…

Personally, I think it's because they are bitter at having failed to secure a loving relationship. They are bitter about their own feelings of lack of control, they want to be the ones who are dictating terms solely with how far the relationship goes or whether it gets off the ground. Most RP guys have either never dated someone, or are divorced/got dumped and couldn't get over it. It's very rare to find one who is in a loving and healthy relationship or married currently, which makes sense if y…

It's not normal to be always choosing wrong. But that's actually exactly how it works until you luck out and find someone compatible. Every ex is technically someone you "chose wrong" and while it's sometimes evident, it's not always evident at the beginning. When I met my bf I was one giant red flag. But it would be foolish now to praise him for having "chosen right." It just so happened to be the case that we were a good match, and I was determined to treat him well, like he had treated me. Bu…

I think the larger issue is that there is a mismatch in what is wanted. More men want casual sex with novel partners and more women want commitment with a compatible partner. Since the market of men offering what a woman is looking for is smaller, more women drop out of the market altogether, screwing over both the men who are looking for casual, and the men who are looking for more.

We maintain our "sex schedule" even when I'm, er, indisposed and seeing red if you catch my drift. I'll use other methods. We have a couple days a week where we definitely have sex, even if we're not in the mood we'll kind of do foreplay or whatever to get into it. Because we feel that intimacy is important to a relationship. But my boyfriend is also an adult, he has some semblance of personal responsibility and empathy. If I go to bed early one night because I didn't get enough sleep the night before, he's not going to pester me and complain, he's not a selfish person. He will just jerk off after I go to bed. It's …

First of all, women who are in their late 20s/early 30s have plenty of options lmao. But as in a time of shrinking birthrates, there are going to be numerically more women older than you than younger, it is a good idea to be open to them. Especially since women 20-35 all find men 25-30 most attractive, according to online dating data.

If you actually read your post, you make a stronger argument for women just not being that interested in sexual monogamy, sex with the same person for years on end. Not in women just not being interested in sex.

HIPAA has very little relevancy when third-world states with failing power grids do not enforce it and instead offer literal bounties to incentivize reporting sensitive patient information and set up a hotline to collect it.

What tax code makes for first world then? Norway has been #1 on the list for HDI for over a decade, so I would start there. High personal income taxes juxtaposed with relatively low corporate tax rates. And an overall progressive culture so as not to incentivize brain drain to culturally freer nations, which tends to happen to religious countries a lot.

Roe v Wade was about the right to patient privacy and it's about to fall, so no. You are incorrect, objectively. No guaranteed right to privacy in the United States, just like China.

That is incorrect. Not in all 50 states.

Tax code and bodily autonomy laws. In Hungary for example they are allowing women with four or more children to pay no income tax for life, and pay for it by way of a bachelor tax. They had similar laws in Romania under Ceanescu and of course abortion was outright banned. Also, these countries receive very little immigration, this is the product of their own historical cultural norms. Also, communism IS a form of authoritarianism.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/22 11:47 AM

Eastern Europe is second world, and their legal norms are the same today as they were under communism. Perhaps you could say they are devolving back to their communistic roots, where the interests of the state comes before respect for the rights of individuals.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/22 11:34 AM

Ironically, Korea in 2021 decriminalized abortion. So even with their allegedly antifeminist president, America is the only nation on earth that is going backwards and devolving into third-world norms instead of out of them.

I don't think it's common for women to compare the men they're dating to the men from their past, outside of the way they're being treated. What's more common, I think, is for women who've been in poor or destructive relationships to have much higher standards for treatment and be willing to cut and run at the first sign of what they perceive as them being treated poorly down the line, to sort of have their backs up in a defensive way, and not give the next dudes the benefit of the doubt that th…
