The government did indeed, ignore the law. He didn't have to pay. Hopefully the law gets adjusted so no one trying to do a good deed gets hauled into court again for this.

It shouldn't matter how they're impregnated, if the father gave up their parental rights and has paperwork saying it was just a donation, they shouldn't be liable. What, if a doctor did the work, she'd be able to afford the baby and not need state help? Appeal overturned it, because it was a stupid technicality.

So, the mothers didn’t sue, the state did. Mothers divorced soon after getting pregnant. One with custody asked for state assistance. State asked who the father was. Guess they told them. State went after the dude on the technicality that the sample he provided was inserted by the women without a doctor.

Appealed, overturned. Not the father legally. https://www.cjonline.com/story/news/crime/2016/11/28/shawnee-county-judge-topeka-sperm-donor-william-marotta-not-legally-child-s-father/16565815007/

Is that for the individuals in the DA office, or for the office/state itself? Sounds like it never made it to a judge. Just charges.

Military. Guys haul boxes and pack heavy gear. Women…plan parties and stock the snack fund. Guess what, those are “additional duties” and those that do them often get promoted early and given awards. Nevermind their lack of doing core job functions. :(

Dude. My dad died when I was 3. My mom cried her way out of tickets when I was 16 still, using that shit still. It’s a pass for anything. She probably still uses it now for all I know. Lost so much respect for her watching her use it as an excuse over a decade later, for not holding down a job and having insurance on her van. (That her dad bought her, and she parks at the house her family repeatedly helps her buy back from the bank)

Fellow vet here from a shitty family. Like others have said, focus on you. They’re dead to you financially, like you’ve been dead to them, remember that for the future, whatever the future may bring. Don’t make them a priority in any way. Don’t go out of your way for them. Let them talk shit and it will roll off you won’t you realize they’re nothing to you. Just laugh and leave when they start being assholes. Gets easier the older you get.

Looks like usually in most states you’d have to document some psych visits. Divorce was tough on you. Depressed. Can’t take the stress of work and loneliness of no family, lost your house of a decade+. Mental health is cracking. Tell them you’ve taken up drinking to self medicate, make sure your ex and her family know this all. They can rule you owe 60K a year back pay, but if you never pay taxes again, they’re not getting anything from you. And ex isn’t hiring a lawyer since she’s about to be h…

Right, judge, I need my payments adjusted. My new income is $0 a month. Here’s my bank statements. I can provide a tax statement next year. Please let me know what 40% of that is and I’ll send it to my wife. Forcing you to work is called slavery, yes, that ain’t legal. Pretty sure they adjust your payments according to your income. If you changed jobs and made more, she’d want “what she’s owed”, right? Same if it goes down.

I’ve always maintained that I’d stop working if something like that happened. I’d rather make under the table money and live out of a small RV than fund some cheating bitch. Get blood from a stone, I dare you. Watch how fast the lawyer I pay for stop helping you when I don’t pay them anymore.

Guys, guys, settle down. Uber banned the rider from the platform. It's all good now. /s What a horrible corporate response. "We're paying his medical bills", "his kid's college", "funeral expenses", "introducing rider education", anything like that would be useful. But to ban the rider, that's in jail, and reach out to his family, that's it? Jeeze.

Nope. Leaned against the door so she couldn’t get in and trash my house. That’s how she yanked the handle off, trying to get past me. I knew if I touched her I’d be done. Pretty sure I was right. Alternate reality - I restrain her and the police show up. Do I get shot? Lol. Charged with assault for detaining her “while she was trying to leave” at the very least? Nope. Well, the cops rolled up and saw her on her knees beating my legs with a broken off doorknob. Like…flip the genders and I’m in jail that night. So, that pisses me off. The cops? They said if they were subpoenaed, they'd show up and testify. Unfortunately, it was military allegations. She was a pain pill addict, so of course she went straight to the base ER after giving me my door handle back when the cops chased her off. She told the MPs and docs that she was physically, sexually and mentally abused. I was getting out of the military and about to get a much higher paying job, thanks to my clearance, she wanted to make sure that didn't happen. She failed. I had…

So glad I had texts and 36 missed phone calls the night my soon to be ex came over and tried to get into my house, ripping off my door handle and beat me with it while I protected my face and turned away from her, waiting for the police. The state says it’s two separate issues. :( Crime against him, and the financial support he civilly has to pay for having a child. Otherwise society has to help pay for those costs they say. I just want to see a man rape a woman, demand she not kill his baby, get full custody, then hit her up for child support because “society shouldn’t have to help him pay for his child alone”.

They wait until he’s an adult to hit him up. But make him pay child support back from when the child is first born. Plus interest.

I was always told I had to keep my run time in check and pushups and sit ups up, so I could drag a wounded friendly to safety. I thought it was odd that some warriors only had to do half as many pushups and run 60% as fast as me...are they going to be able to drag someone to safety? How about a flat standard, regardless of age or sex, minimum required to do the job? Was fucked up to change the rules for sex and age.

Being smarter now, I should have filed assault or domestic abuse charges against her. He’d have to come testify, as he witnessed the crime. Then I’d have a conviction proving that I’m the victim, for my command.

This reminds me of my ex wife. We were separated and she came to my house and tried to get in. I leaned against the storm door and told her to leave - she didn’t live there anymore. She was pulling on the storm door, ripped the handle off, and fell backwards down the two steps. She crawled up and started hitting me with the handle on my legs. The police arrived and saw it. No big deal, asked her to leave, since she didn’t live there. Well, she apparently hurt herself while ripping my door handle…

Sure thing. City streets are full of human and animal excrement. Spit and other disgusting things. Would you walk around the city, then put your shoes on your couch at home? Do you want to sit in that? Also, there's a pandemic, and the virus lives for days in feces. No need to wipe it all over seats and transfer it to people's clothing, then hands and faces. Imagine having your kids, that can’t swim, walking around at a pool. Now imagine an adult running around the pool as the lifeguard yells repeatedly at her to follow the rules and stop running. Little kids diving out of the way on the slippery hard surface. Life guard will tell them to leave if they can’t follow the rules. They’ll be arrested, disorderly conduct or something, at least dragged off property and charged for trespassing. Any other examples you’d like to use?

My ex was a pill addict and spend-a-holic. When I was divorcing her, I was in the military and paid her the different between my housing allowance as a single person and married person. She wanted more and complained to my chain of command. Well, it turns out my branch isn't even required to pay the difference. Out because of the pandemic? He was on 3 illegal drugs. He was buying cigarets with his girlfriend and bud (the one that told him to stop messing around and just get in the police car). Everyone that interacted with his that day said he was fucked up. Maybe he smoked some tranquilizer laced, meth with a little pot to clear his head before his drive to cash the fake bills. Before resisting arrest. Meh. Don’t care. Race doesn’t play into it, tell me a white methhead died resisting and I’ll say, suck, don’t do drugs or resist police. “Stop playing around and just get into the SUV” - his friend after he resisted for like five minutes. George Floyd was the meth head that was stoned out of his mind that I described.
/r/PussyPassDenied28/06/20 04:18 PM

That’s the big one that started this. Are we talking about the drunk felon that likes to torture women and children, was hanging out with his girlfriend he was cheating with, driving drunk, then resisted arrest, assaulted an officer, took his weapon and fired it at him? That was the next big one where riots and civil unrest broke out.

Convince me why I should care if a meth addict/repeated felon is trying to drive an SUV while completely out of it, putting my family’s lives at risk, and resists arrests for 15 minutes and dies?
