At the very least, complete highschool. I would disagree, but that's based on personal opinion. I think the best part was the very end when they realized they'd been had. It wasn't some "oh no!", moment. It wasn't that overly dramatic "we've failed!" bullshit. It was a moment when the captain basically said "well played. Who's up for round two?" and they sailed off for another adventure. No overly obvious demand for a sequel, no ridiculous drama. Just an ongoing game of tag. Fucking beautiful

Everything you said is a fair point. I'd still encourage such a program for boys to learn leadership and self reliance traits, but I honestly don't have a solution in mind to preventing them becoming a crutch for lazy parents. If you have any ideas, I'd be interested in hearing them. Or if you know of any organizations that are better at not becoming basically day care, I'd like to know so I can offer them what support I can.
