You still can't see the kids? To me that'd be a huge problem. Think of ways to issue an ultimatum like "I will see the kids this weekend, or this might happen, you decide." You need leverage. Why is it that you can't see the kids? If you had a divorce and she has full custody, you should still be able to see them.

She sounds like a total asshole. I bet if the situation was reversed and you were pregnant, you would not be bothered if she watched porn when you both can't have sex. Sounds like a excuse, a lame one. If women lurkers are here reading this post, this is lame, do not do this. If you have female friends thinking about this route, talk them out of it please.

Ok, I would think she would want to stay together in a relationship and work out problems instead of a divorce exit. A prenup protects both of your assets, it's really a good thing for her as well. There's no such thing as a prenup that only protects one person. Find out more why she initially was against it and wanted counter terms included. I was the larger earner and my wife didn't want to pay for the prenup. I did, so I paid for the whole thing. I'm glad I did and had it. You could do that t…

A lot of comments are immediately screaming to run away. I would say this warrants more of a discussion so you have a better idea. Generally people get a prenup when there's a difference in assets and incomes brought into the marriage. You both make a similar amount and you say you have more to bring to the table, so you want the prenup. What's strange is she's saying "if you divorce her". Usually the lower income earner wants the divorce. If you get a prenup and then divorce her, she really has…

Reading this and I wouldn't want to lie either. My son will eventually find out what happened anyways too when he's older. I wish you the best fellow redditor

Agreed, it's a lame reason to leave. But women are stupid and emotional and not logical

I think the goal in getting divorced is for it to be as painless as possible. Depending on the situation with the ex, to settle it out of court, and never have to actually go to court. Only if that is not possible and you both don't agree, then you would have to go that route. But I wouldn't advise trying to actually go to court to recruit a potential lawyer.

From my failed marriage. She was a strong-willed woman with a fighting personality, the opposite of me. I'm calm, cool, collected, I forgive and forget. She has a chip on her shoulder and remembers how she has been wronged. Hypocrite, self-centered. Always thought she was on my side, until she wasn't. My ex got into a fight with my best friend's gf. My ex never apologized, and while my friend and I are still on good terms, we could never hang out as a foursome anymore. Lesson learned, red flag i…

For me, I had to follow the Alberta government child support calculator. You put in your number, and it calculates what you owe. She does the same. There's no bartering after that.

You're in a good place. You have mastery over your emotions and ready to move on. This is good.

You're not alone. I'm in a similar situation. Wondering what to do come spring when the snow melts.
